    That was a great ride, quite thrilling. I am in the process of selling my BMW R1200C to downsize to a light GS motorcycle. I have narrowed it down to this BMW G310GS mostly because of the favorable seat height. I wanted a Honda CRF300L Rally but the seat height is 35.2" compared to 32.9" on the BMW G310GS. Even the lower seat will be tall for me at my 5'-10" height. I sold my BMW R1150GS because it was too tall to ride safely. It's seat was 33". Hopefully I can better handle the 310GS because of it's smaller weight and frame mass. I look forward to selling my R1200C so I can quickly acquire my own BMW G310 GS! Thanks for the great ride and straight-up good review!!

    • @Liberty4Ever
      @Liberty4Ever Před 3 lety +4

      @@pabvisan - The G310GS suspension is soft. It's very comfortable on the road. It wouldn't be suitable for hard off road use. The preload can be adjusted on the rear suspension but not the front. Rally Raid makes upgrades for the suspension if you'd like to give the G310GS more off road capability. There are also heavy duty spoke wheels, but for the price of a G310GS plus all the upgrades needed to make it suitable for challenging off road use, it would be less expensive to buy a bike that is more off road ready from the manufacturer. For mild off road use, I think the G310GS will work well, but I haven't had mine off road yet. It's been stored all winter and it's just now almost warm enough to ride where I live.

I currently winter-ride a WR250R in Norway (lots of snow and ice, studded tyres), but it's probably not going to last for more than another season due to all the rock salt it's being exposed to. I recently bought the G310 as a learner bike for my brother, but might be interested in using it as a winter bike when he's done with it.

    Honest review. Certainly not among the bought-and-paid-for lot polluting CZcams. That said, I think BMW messed up with the little GS. They already have a road version ("R" for road, maybe?). The baby GS should have come factory like it is AFTER installing the Rally Raid kit. Geez, at least give it some spoke rims. Sorry, for MY needs, I think the Himalayan is the better buy. I also have a feeling the KTM 390 ADV is going to bury the GS in sales, as long as its MSRP comes under the total cost of a Rally Raid 310.

      Good for long trips. I don't think the vibrations really is an issue. If you are going mostly on higway, buy a Harley🤣 but seriously you can easily go 120 km/t, even faster, if you replace the exhaust system. My goes 160 km/t easily.

    • @maneatingduck
      @maneatingduck Před 3 lety

      It'll go 140 km/h easy, and it's very stable at those speeds. Its seat is also comfortable even for long rides.
      The engine sound and vibration can be a bit annoying at highway speeds, but if the bike is the best fit for your budget I would say go for it. Ask for a test ride from the dealer if you can, and try it out for yourself. Great bike :)

      I just bought one with 2.5 K on the clock. I was riding on the highway on a particularly windy day into a head wind and it wouldn't hold 110 kph without constantly adjusting my grip on the throttle to try and squeeze more out. This became quite painful so I had to pull over and rest my arm. Definitely the weakest, least capable motorcycle on the highway I've ever ridden.
