I love my 310GS... 90% of my riding is commuting on small, bad roads with awful traffic.
Pretty maneuverable in traffic, lane splitting is easy where it's small, and the fuel isn't much worse than my old 125 runabout!
Enough speed to hit motorways at 120-130kph... just got back from a quick 1000km trip around Italy.
Wouldn't spend all that money on Motech parts, the hand guards are really nice, but I've got almost everything Givi. Fits the bike perfectly and 1/2 the price of motech stuff...
I would love to see a video of your bike ! I think these will be the best adv bikes when fully kitted out!
Well I've added the tracTive rear adjustable shock absorber and the TracTive front fork upgrade to it and it made my G310 GS a very good off road machine, much more capable and versatile. Also my new rear shock absorber I can adjust the sag ( pre-load ) and the compression/rebound and the forks I can now adjust the preload and release tension. so I can set it for street or for dirt, with or without load or pilon.... Can never go back to stock suspension
I found adding a Puig Touring Windscreen made the journey to my adventure so much more enjoyable. The medium size allowed for a significant reduction in the wind on the highway - while still staying out of the way when off road. I also added a USB port to allow for recharging my gear while on the road for extended periods of time.
Do me a favour and unscrew the headlight and tell me if there is wiring for 12 volt please 😉
That's a pretty cool small machine with nice accessories. Well done.
Would love to see an updated video on the new 2021G310 GS that are coming out. 🙏🏽
Great stuff with great bike
I added a V-stream windshield.
Adjustable suspension would be nice. Not that the stock system is bad for my weight.
Nicely done, just missing the center stand!
I'd like a center stand, but they don't seem to be compatible with aluminum bash plates.
More light is more better. I haven't addressed that yet but will probably add LED lighting on the forks as shown in the video. I did upgrade the headlamp, parking light and turn signals to brighter and more reliable lower power LED lighting (standard equipment starting in 2021).
I'm sticking with the very nice stock luggage rack and not adding pannier racks. For light trips, I tie a waterproof 40 liter roll top backpack to the rack and pillion. I can strap lightweight waterproof bags on top of that, such as a sleeping bag. If I need more storage, I have a pair of 20 liter roll top dry bags that hang from the luggage rack top and rear and anchor in the front at the passenger footpegs.
My goal is maximum capability without weighing down this small adventure touring bike. I bought it because it was light but capable, and I want to preserve that balance.
Sounds like you have a perfect build for your needs! Well done!
@@twistedthrottle - My luggage decisions were largely driven by my desire to carry the luggage as a backpack. For most people, a better choice would have been one of the commercial soft packs with integral panniers or the seat bag and panniers combos that have been easier but I like the flexibility of the waterproof seat/luggage bag that's also a backpack and the two cylindrical dry bags that I'm using as panniers that can be attached to the top and bottom of the backpack when I'm off the bike, although the DrySpec D68 or D78 do look very nice, as does the SW-Motech Drybag 700, etc.
I couldn't find a waterproof tank bag that I liked so I'm using a Skog waterproof fanny pack (Amazon ASIN: B088XQKKXP) for long trips that I wear backwards so it's in front of me, at my waist (it's pronounced ghey). I'm currently wrapping up the tool kit and first aid kit. I've enjoyed these customizations to accommodate how I plan to ride. I'll post on the ADV Rider forum when I've figured out more of the details and had some experience so I'm not speaking hypothetically, and probably make a CZcams video or two of what I chose, in the hope it might help others.
Thanks for your awesome video.
Thanks for some great ideas
Glad you like them!
I put on Rox 2" pivot risers which brought the bars up and back, even though Im a bigger guy i like to sit more upright than in the stock configuration. Also added Oxford heated handle grips and would like to add Bark Busters. I put on side racks, that I think came from Twisted Throttle which bolted right on and I'm using Nelson Rigg 27 liter soft saddle bags. On the back rack I strapped on a Kriega US 20 tailbag. I like the idea of the extra lights too as well as the engine bars and skid plate. I made my own radiator guard out of some light expanded metal. So far I am loving this bike!
This sounds like a great set up, Doug!
This sounds fantastic! I'm gonna go down this road too. I think, when you're rolling the little Bmw will haul quite a bit of weight .
Thats awesome accessories
I like this colour Comparing to other colours
Which handlebar risers did you use... got a link?
I added your footpegs also. The fit is not quite right as the pegs are tight in the fittings. Hope they loosen up. Also did aftermarket tractive shock and fork... Huge difference
What brand??
@@hermansenjacob they were they were the sw motech adjustable ones. They need little (1 mm) grind to fit in the slot and articulate without sticking
Wont these electrical mods void warranty? My dealer doesnt even allow me to put a Mobile Charger. Forget about lights
How about,
A chain oiler, and some USB charging ports.
Hmm, so if I don't get the handle bar risers, the barkbusters wouldn't fit? I have 2022 bmw g310gs. Thanks
this little doesn't need the overpriced SW Motech parts but a rally raid kit, then it becomes a proper light weight offroad worthy adventure bike.
Yeah, I'm surprised that there were no rally raid parts. Especially the wire wheels.
How much does Rally Raid kit cost?
1500€ for spooked wheels and 1000€ for suspension, is it cheap?
@@abrar49 You only get what you pay for. Aftermarket are getting expensive so you have to be 100% sure of the correct kit. IMHO wire wheels are not needed at all.
Definitely tubeless spoke wheels. The only reason why I did not buy this motorcycle. Hopefully it will come stock with spoke wheels soon. Still, for the current G310GS, affordable aftermarket spoke wheels, (even if they have to be tubed), would be a must upgrade for people like me, who like riding 50/50 and don't want to buy a dual sport.
Rally Raid out of the UK makes spoked wheels for this bike at a reasonable price.
Sw Motech lugagge without a key can be very expensive...
Rally Raid upgraded suspension and tubeless wire wheels.
who installed Brembo brakes? How much has braking performance improved? How much did it cost?
Did you guys upload that video showing how you did the electricals? Tried looking for it couldn't find. Please share the link incase I missed..
As long as you have that small amount of horsepower you will be limited on what you add weight wise. I would love to have one of these bikes with at least 50 rwhp on tap. 28 is just not enough.
its 34 hp
does anyone know if and where you can get a shortened version of the lecince plate/ tail light braket for the 2019 bmw 310gs? we do only city riding and want to take off the back rack and shorten the black bracket for looks.
R&G makes a Tail Tidy for this bike -- twistedthrottle.com/shop/body-and-fairing/fender-eliminators/licence-plate-holder-bmw-g310gs/
If you add up the price of all these SW Motech stuff it prob be more than the price of the bike. Hahaha
hi good morning ☀️☀️☀️☀️ how much bmw 310 adventure color red
How much sir? Bmw 310 GS adventure color red
Will the side carriers interfere on the comfort of a second person sitting on the rear?
As on any motorcycle with side cases or bags, the bags will be noticeable but will not interfere with the passenger foot pegs.
LED headlight is a must as well as driving lights... Looks weird having a halogen and LED together...
Installing an LED headlight or headlight bulb is super helpful for looks as well as to reduce the load on the bike's electrical system. To be fair, with the DENALI lights, you typically won't notice the headlight at all!
What did you think the impact of adding all of these extras did to the weight of the bike? My biggest concern is adding weight on a bike that doe so much in part due to that light weight.
Everyone's thoughts on how added weight changes handling differ. This bike, though it is small, has been engineered well to handle the customization, as well as riders ranging greatly in height and weight! ;-)
@@twistedthrottle Good point on how everyone's thoughts can be different as far as impact goes. That being said; NOBODY thinks that weight increases performance, the argument is (or should be) over just how significant of an impact that extra weight is. We did some more single track on the 310GS and I am still shocked at how good of a little bike it is off-road. I do not think a top case or even some smaller side panniers negatively impacts that performance in a significant enough way to avoid them. I guess time will tell!
What set of Barback risers did you use to fit the 310?
There currently is not a bolt on bar-back riser for the 310. We used one of the other BMW versions and modified to fit, although it is not perfect.
the stock fuel tank capacity is very less..has anyone tried to mod/upgrade the fuel tank to take in more litres?? or is there a different/big fuel tank that fits in here??
We do not carry any aftermarket tanks for the 310GS, but the fuel range of 200 miles is pretty good for a bike of that size and capability.
Do you know if there's a TFT screen available for this bike?
There is not, at least in the North America market.
Where's the link for the bar risers? I could use those.
See the link below. This is the riser set we used, although it is not a perfect fit.

Is it possible to get a sidecar 🙏😅 am a beginner planning to bring my fur kid on a journey
Get a moped with a basket -_-
i would love to know if the 310 a good tourer
i have two friends with bigger bikes and i want to know if i can catch up with them on a long ride going with 70-75 miles per hour (110-120 km/h)
im asking about vibration, small 11 L Tank and the comfort
thanks
I have ridden a few...but for the money, I prefer a Honda CRF250L modification. Neither are "lightweight"..geez the GS weighs 385 before you add on heavy steel and thick bash plate. That is more than an old XR650 by 40 pounds! I am a minimalist, however. My WR250 and CRF250L both outperform the GS off road and nearly as good on.
Thai Gyro I agree with you. People spend so much money trying to convert a street bike to dual sport. It’s stupid. It’s much easier and cheaper to make a dual comfortable for highway riding. Add all of that junk and that GS is still a pig in the dirt. I’m looking to buy a smaller displacement bike like the CB300f or CB300R and convert it to a scrambler.
😉✌️
I tested it the 310GS and then I decide to buy the KTM 390 adventure which is hundreds of years ahead 👍🏻
hundreds of years?
He meant thousands of dollars more lol
Extrafuel? Windshield?
If you are in need of extra fuel, try a Rotopax

The whole point of this bike is massive bang for your buck. Spending almost of as much as the second hand price of the bike is completely pointless. Is stock really so terrible that all that expenditure is required to make it work passably? Very rough add up comes to $3k... add wire wheels, suspension (mods that actually make massive difference) and you are entering pricing range of big boys :)
So basically this is just an ad video.
310 слабый мотор, я бы не стал столько допов ставить)
$7000 single-cylinder novelty bike from India....then tack on another $3500 of junk, and you might as well get yourself a GS850. Much more power and longevity from a twin than that buzzy single-thumper......and made in Germany!
you obviously have not ridden the 310. nothing buzzy about it.
@@queenpdog Yep, at highway speed quite buzzy.....I was thinking about buying for my son to ride with me while I'm on my GS1200, but went with the 850 for him. 310 is only good as a city bike, but Yamaha WR250r is a better bike for that and it had the ability to hit the woods.....and yes that was his last bike, so i did ride that as well
F850gs is made in China, thoroughly. The company that makes it for BMW is Lonqin I believe.
@@Coonakos ....OK I didn't know that😵
@@Coonakos Fact check..... Google says made in Berlin.
