    Do a follow up wit some pulls . New fluid is always good for really gripping the gears better. 👍👍

    HEADS UP! Do not use this oil as he said it has friction editors which should not be used in any of the CD VQ trannys due to the synchros having a copper coating that will be eaten by these extra friction modifiers and cause synchros to rust over time. U can use this for the diff not the tranny!

    Just bought a ssangyong korando 2014 transmission a pain, spoiled the experience of the new car, always crunchy into 2nd gear.
    Thanks! I'll try this before I pay a garage for an assessment.

      I did some research since I was curious. Hopefully you used the right MTF (manual transmission fluid)/gear oil, which was supposed to be GL-4 75w-85 gear oil. Nothing else should be used, aside from maybe slightly heavier weight GL-4 gear oil, such as 75w-90 or 80w-90.
      This video shows a manual gearbox that uses GL-5, which is NOT the same rating MTF/gear oil you should be using for your SsangYong manual gearbox… The only other closest thing would be DCT fluid, but even that is not recommended for most GL-4 fluid alternatives.
      GL-5 gear oils are very corrosive to your Ssangyong manual gearbox’s specific metals, and will cause unnecessary/excessive wear and tear if not changed out ASAP for the correct GL-4 gear oil. Hopefully my comment wasn’t too late and you figured it out/fixed it before anything serious occurred….

      No, this video focuses on a manual gearbox that uses a GL-5 rated gear oil/MTF (manual trans fluid), which is different from what your Honda/Acura manual gearbox uses (GL-4).
      OEM Honda MTF (GL-4 70w-75) is highly recommended, but any GL-4 75W or 75w-80 gear oil is suitable. 75w-85 is what I personally used for extra protection, esp with harder driving; although it takes an extra minute or two to warm up during cold starts. 75w-90 can also be used, but it might be too thick for non-track driving/racing; as it requires a lot of warmup driving time and is not very efficient for colder climate environments.
      GL-5 rated MTF/gear oil is corrosive to the synchronizers and other yellow/soft metals, that found in cars that are equipped with GL-4 rated manual gearboxes. Hopefully you figured this out not too late, and used the correct gear oil/MTF…

    • @isnowyazn
      @isnowyazn Před 5 měsíci +1

      An automatic transmission should not “crunch” by any means, or your auto gearbox or trans is experiencing SEVERE issues; at which you might want to assume that a whole rebuild or swap might have to be considered.
