I don’t know of another CZcams content creator that puts so much of their heart and soul into their automotive projects 🙂 and keeps her unique sense of humor at the forefront 😀 much respect ✊
Or their sense of humor or their belly button ! Lol
Haven't researched, but how many are putting a v8 in a 74 celica?
Agreed😂
Yes I agree. Sarah does great videos that keep us coming back.
Sarah's the Best 👌
Very very few people understand how complicated custom cars are to build. Your awesome.
At least 654k people know!
@@theothertonydutch Looks like 645K.
You’re or you are.
@@HansDelbruck53 But it will be 654k soon.😆
You're demonstrating your lack of understanding.
A Celica update video is a great way to end the week, now I can tell people I have achieved something productive.
😅
Ah! Time for a burger and a brew, eh?
It is fun to see someone so incredibly detail oriented work on a car. Just the opposite of most car videos. Thank you for the content
You could do an MR2 video... or a video on why stuffed penguins prefer vanilla pudding over chocolate - either way, I'm tuning in!
Dammit! Now I'm going to be wondering why they do all night! LOL.
Butterscotch pudding would be better...no...Flan!
Neat and tidy; attention to detail and Olympic -level geeky enthusiasm. Absolutely magnificent!
" This isn't one of those car tv shows where everything is a paid product placement and the parts are free."
❤ This is why I love your content ❤
Never Stop✌️
Your videos are so awesome, so friendly, light and quirky yet tons of techie details. AND if you’re the one editing all this…I’m blown away. Please don’t change! These videos are perfect to take my mind off my day today craziness.
With all the comments you may not read this but I bought a1975Celica new in early March of 75. The car was made in late 1974 , the outlet in the glove box was for a 12volt emergency trubble light that came in the tool kit and had what looked like a 110 house hold plug. Really enjoy watching you build this car
I love all the Celica content, even all the wiring stuff. Your attention to detail, although bordering on a mental disorder, is great to watch...no offense. Keep it up, Sarah.
MR2 yes please
MR2 please. Just dont stop on the build. I just get amazed at your knowledge of wiring and building. Always a step ahead and seeing most of the issues before they turn into problems. Great as usual. ❤
No need to apologize for how long it takes to do a full build, you're doing great!
I agree, and after working restoring and customizing old Jeep's and 4x4 trucks in Pennsylvania I know doing a full build or restoration RIGHT takes time.
I feel that not many people appreciate the weird little camera angles that make the vids what they are!
Yes! And the special effects and the editing etc just keeps getting better and better!
i had to laugh when I saw how happy you was to find that grommet. I was genuinely happy for you and these small victories Sarah. Thanks for sharing.
I adore Sarah! Meticulous work ethic and the best personality on CZcams.
Harry here in Toronto. Hi Sarah - I so enjoy and look forward to each of your videos. Thanks for everything you do, which by now, represents YEARS of pleasure and inspiration!
Thanks!
"It'll be a couple more videos before I can start it."
Take your time dear. We're still watching.
"When I paint the engine bay, this hole will get primer on it..." Of course it will! YOU would never miss a detail like that!
As always nice work, glad to see you have not abandoned the MR2.
The absolute genuine joy when you found the right size grommet was brilliant…it’s the little surprises.
Your other wire strippers are on the shelf with the soldering iron and the multimeter with the dead battery. The Tupperware lids and missing socks are to the left.
But where are the 10mm sockets?
@@Timberwolf69 all of them are at my 10mm kiosk at the mall.
I bet there's a German word for when the last grommet is a perfect fit!
Mr. Dos content, woot
Thanks
Welding cable, hadn't thought of that even after 40 years as a mechanic and building dozens of cars of my own. Thanks.
Sarah = Your wiring videos show that you have the patience of a Saint. NEVER lose your drive to do the job the right way and maintain your high standards. It is noticed and appreciated.
All 74 Vehicles sold in the US had the seat belt interlock. If the front seats were occupied, the engine would not crank without your seat belts being worn. It was so problematic stranding so many people that it was a one-year thing only. And, people who had 74s bypassed the system (with the government's blessing) by pulling the connector under the driver and passenger seat that sensed an occupant. There was a red button usually mounted on the driver's side inside fender. You could pop the hood, push the button, and start the car without belting up. It was for emergencies when the system failed and you needed to start the engine. My Mom had a 74 Pinto. I restored a 74 Firebird. I yanked the whole system and used a 75 Firebird diagram to re-wire it. BTW, in my Firebird the relay box was behind the dash near the heater core. Please yank the whole system, everyone else did!
Hahaha that’s what that button was for!
I just appreciate you Sara. This build is the best thing on the internet. 👌
You are such a dork. The proper grommet got you so excited. 🤭😍
Yes the the Mr Dos videos! Oh, and the videos are never too long. love the detail.
Can you use a smaller condenser, mounted lower down. A/C wouldn't be as effective but would at least provide you with some cooling
The oil cooler is going there.
@@SarahnTuned pity. I live in cold and wet UK, so no a/c in your hot state is not appealing!
crazy talented and extremely impressive , just a few more weeks and i am going to Sarahize my car
It's the best feeling when your random spare parts bins, drawers, buckets has what you need. Bonus points if the spare parts remind you of an older project. Cheers!
That outlet in the glovebox came with a little 12 volt DC drop light. It's the same dimensions as a US spec AC outlet. A lot of people tried to plug them in inside their house. The results were interesting to say the least. Not a surprise the quit including that feature.
Whoa! Wild!
That 2UZ-FE is a tight fit in my GX, let alone in the Celica! Very cool!
I LOVE your build videos!! Especially the longer ones, when I watch the shorter ones it’s like it’s over in seconds lol. Keepem coming.
Having never done this type of thing I am finding it so fascinating how you identify and solve the problems as they arise
You’re just so over the top on a build, you are a wonderful watch on CZcams, you do everything we lazy people want to do with our builds. And just to say thank you and you’re amazing !!!!!!!!
I don't know why this video series has just been such a chill watch. I love throwing on car builds in the background and so many are either frantic car building messes or slow meandering stream-of-thought single cams; this series is right up my alley. Thanks for the vibes!
Your build videos are the most thorough and explanatory in detail than anything else I've seen on the 'tube's. Your delivery style keeps attention span alive. Thank you for quality content 👍👍👍
I wish that conversion was ELECTRIC ! has anybody told YOU ARE The best looking Mechanic ever? Love your channel!😍
Sarah, you are the cats meow you’re also supercalifragilisticexpialidocious👍😁
Yes … more and more and more Mr Dos content please!!
I think your videos are great. I appreciate that you fully restore the vehicles you work on. I feel that there are too many car revivals out there that just get a car running enough to get them down the road. These classics deserve to be fully restored, not left to rot.
Most of them I'll agree with you on, those rare survivors are my exception (the likes of a well stored barn find) after all, they are only original once.
This car will be meant to drive with the windows down. Not a daily. If AC doesn't fit, pick your days to drive it. I'm in West Texas and I'd be thrilled to win this thing. And thank you, Sarah, for doing such a great job on this car! I've always loved the micro-muscle car design from the Japanese automakers during that era. And the gold paint is perfect. And the wheels. I'm drooling, here.
A shame this isn’t going to be a giveaway car. Maybe Sarah will bless us with some drive videos on occasion!
Thank you Sarah!🌻🐧
Thank you Sarah and KM PAINT. The SNT shirt arrived yesterday and it looks great.
Mine too! Great shirts, and mine came in a fun purple package! Thanks Sarah and KM paint!
Amazing work Sarah! I love your content. A Mr. DOS video would be super awesome!
A/C is used for Defrost, so it's still useful in those northern states.
Also, if you REALLY wanted to, you can get custom A/C condensers in any size and shape. And yes, you CAN split one big condenser into multiple small ones. The popular electric A/C conversion for old 911s typically has a condenser in front of the driver's front tire. It works despite not being in the typical "front of the radiator" location.
YAY!! I’ve been waiting by the phone for your next installment!! Thank you for topping off the week with a new video!
SuperSarah... the LIVING example of healthy OCD.
Her Gram's Ford Ranger
The MR2 Turbo rebuild that turned into an instruction manual
The Audi Quattro ...
A singular talent, entertaining personality and really attractive too.
I've found a short length of garden hose makes a fine bushing/grommet for thru penetration chafing protection as with the welding lead from the trunk thru the frame and firewall. BTW, we used to mount old Celica seats in vw beetles for greater comfort.
The AC may still be doable with a new condenser, but I totally understand that you have very little room to work with and cooling the motor is much more important than AC. Amazing build. You have a great channel. I can't believe how many videos you have on it. You REALLY work hard on your channel and it's content. It really shows. You deserve many more subscribers than you have, hopefully many more people will subscribe.
Nah, I bolted the grill on and re-measured. I actually barely have room to get a cooling fan in there with just the radiator pushed all the way to the grill. A condenser is 100% not possible, not even a half-size one.
Loving this project. You've got blokes in Melbourne Australia talking about it at smoko.
And "carefuling", also being now used down here.
We do still have a few of this model of Celica, rhd, around here.
Great channel.
Stu. Melbourne
Excited and hopeful to see a fully tuned Mr. Dos.
Love that car ! ❤
Sarah, you lead the way in quality content! It is a privilege to watch you build this car as well as all of the other projects, and to watch your in-depth reviews on new cars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love the electrical, don't stop the details. Can't learn anything by magically being done fast.
The seatbelt interlock was more than a happy buzzer. If you tried to start the car more than 3 times with the seat occupied and the seatbelt not connected, the interlock would need to be reset by a little switch under the hood or no start for you.
This needs more up votes. Don't troubleshoot the car starter until you verify this system works. Years ago I helped a friend with a '74 Monte Carlo with a no start condition. The government mandated circuit wasn't listed in the wire diagram. We almost replaced the starter until we figured this out.
@@submarinesammy I say replace the A/C and condenser coils with a full BQQ-5 system!
@@brucoder or just drive under the ice. That makes it cold enough.
@@submarinesammy 🥶
If you are going to have the battery in the truck, be sure to get a battery box with a vent to the outside to keep those corrosive battery gases out.
It’s an AGM
@@SarahnTuned Regardless the AGM under the rear hatch in my Q5 is vented to the outside from the factory. Use the hole in the battery, that's what it's there for. Incidentally bees also love the hole in the battery when it is sitting out. I had to keep chasing them away.
Also ex Air Force. In aircraft all the wires are usually white with imprinted coded numbers. Was it the same on ground support gear? Thought it looked slick, but I guess having to keep a cross reference to the OEM wiring diagram would be a pain. Did projects with clear numbered wire shrink sleeves that were so Frankenstein that colors were too random to cross match anyway. Can truly identify with another neat wiring junkie. U da best Sarah.
Im here for it all. Mr Dos and Celica content please!
Being I live in AZ as well, I would figure out a way to make the A/C work. It will take some fabrication and thinking and using different parts but I would do it. Unless you plan on not driving the Celica in the summer? Where there is a will there is a way.
Not mathematically possible, AC isn’t happening
Yes, we want another MR Dos video.
Heck yeah, I’m always down for a MR2 video.
Don't be sorry, this is all awesome and I love the fact that you have continued with the wiring. Every step is important and I will continue to watch every video in this series.
You put alot of effort into that car.
The little carefuling song is living rent-free in my head every time I do sketcy sh*t and I can't say I hate it!
Also all for a Mr.Dos video
I'm amazed at how organized you are and especially how well you can keep track of all the parts! 🤯
Another major reason welding wire is more flexible is the insulation. Typically welding wire has real rubber or high rubber content insulation and vehicle wiring is often vinyl.
Nice to see you back working on the car. I can’t wait to hear it run and drive so I do enjoy your new car review.
Cool sleeper car that you are making
your intelligence is a lovely presentation, schooling on your craft, i am learning things i didn't know i wanted to learn, and also your humor is so in tuned
Hey Sarah, great the battery install went your way. Maybe you could mount a fire extinguisher on the other side of the battery make it look more evenly spaced just an idea and yes more MR2 for sure. Have a great one as always.🐧🐧🐧👍
More MR2 too!
Great video!. Thank you. Yes on the MR 2 video.
You don’t need to forego air conditioning. Modify the condenser. It’s easy enough to route hard line into the engine bay
Yes, building cars in real life - it doesn't take 5 minutes. Love your content! ❤
Hmmm. I see Sarah influence in Rookie's wiring 😁
They put out two similar videos within 24 hours of each other lol
Yes to Mr. Dos updates.
You can use a half size condenser for the A/C if you want. They're only half as tall and come with barbs you slip the hoses over and use clamps to hold them on making hose routing easy. I've done it a couple of times on similar builds.
I just would not have the patience to do this as professionally as you are. Amazing.
You could never make a boring video. Wiring, cleaning ... doesn't matter. lol
I cringe at the abuse you put your knees through. I could not crouch for days on end gathering/routing wires under a dash. Well. Im old, but still. Great job and as informative and entertaining as always.
Just love how finding something like a grommet makes you happy. Can’t help to smile with you. 😊
Your attention to detail is beyond reproach! Outstanding work!
YES MR2 video please!! Just recently picked up a 93 with a gen4 engine it.
Loving all the content - i just realised while you were looming the battery cable that you’re using Tesa tape thats used normally for interior (more fabric like vs a shinier plasticky loom tape)
These are ones i’ve used:
Tesa 51026 (alternative 51025) for engine harness
Tesa 56108 for interior harness or the one that you may have used on the video
I hope this helps! Last thing i want is for you to potentially have to redo all that hard work of looming (i remember my nightmare engine looming of a Honda K20 swapped FIT/Jazz and having to reloom the inteior and exterior loom!)
Honestly thank you for documenting everything, its so nice to see all the details and all the hard work!
Looking forward to the next video!
I LOVE THIS SERIES, I always lose track of time watching this
Last week I binge watched your MR2 build videos, more Mr Dos would be great!
omg this is a dream project car! I love this series!
Love all the vids on this build. I feel your pain having lived most of what you are going through, all will be worth it when you first hear it fire up, then that beloved first drive! Cheers Sarah
Watching this on the weekend makes pushing through a depressing week worth it.
I'm thinking there might be a way to get a different condenser to keep the AC. Maybe something not as tall and a little wider or thicker or something to better fit the space.
Yaaa! A new Celica vid
9:38 I just realized how tiny this car is - its roof is at your waist level. Given that your Bronco's hood is at about your chest level, if you park both cars side by side, you probably won't see the Celica from the driver's seat.
Yeah it’s about the size of a Miata
You having all official toyota stickers to put in the engine bay is the nerdiest, most awesome thing ever.
Sarah I can’t remember any of your videos being boring enough to keep my attention. Always waiting for the quirky song or comment as you work thru a job. Your attention to detail is unreal and your drive to do the job right and just so perfectly. You show the real effort and work needed to do a custom build right. Love your content 👍👍
Literally!
SUP Sarah!👊🏼
