  • Downstream injection introduces chemicals into the system after the pump, so no chemical is run through the pressure washer pump itself. In this demonstration, Micheal Hinderliter teaches you how to use a downstream injector for pressure washing and why you actually need this super downstream injector.

    Use the Super Downstream Injector to bypass your pump when applying corrosive chemicals, detergents, or acids to help maintain a longer life on your pump. Works with up to 300 feet of the pressure hose.
    Prevent debris from entering the pump by using a Chemical Strainer. Soap enters through the strainer, preventing debris from entering the pump. This is a durable alternative to lightweight soap strainers. The step-down hose barb will attach to either 1/4" or 3/8" hose.
    An internal brass weight keeps soap strainer at the bottom of the soap container. It includes built-in stainless steel and Viton check valve to prevent water flow back into the soap strainer.

      If it’s 1-20 the best you can get with 12.5% bleach is like 3/4 of a % SH. With the adjuster valve all the way open. Half open would give you have strength. You just have to calculate the 100% open and calculate a proportion. Google how to calculate a proportion maybe. I’m still wondering how I can get up to a full 1% strength if you are only able to shoot a 1:20

      @Powerwash  Pƙed 2 lety

      This is a very unique situation. We do sell a 10 GPM 1/2" chemical injector that you could use for this machine. However, the issue is that through 250" of hose, the backpressure on the line will probably be too heavy to get any chemical draw. Your best option to get that kind of draw with that much pressure hose is to either move the chemical injector up through the line so the injector itself has less pressure hose to work with, or to cut down about 100'-150' of pressure hose on the line. If you were looking to order this injector, please give us a call at 800-433-2113 as it is a special order and cannot be found on the website.

    From varying sources, maximum suggested length of hose for the Venturi effect to stop working for a chemical injector is in the region of 10-20m (33-65ft). I’m not saying these sources are correct, as there is nothing that backs up their conclusions. Your estimate of 150ft (45m) is more than double, which suits me as I have a 30m hose, but I obviously want to make sure. I am about to buy a foam injector actually which I think works roughly the same way but at a slightly higher pressure. The foam gun nozzle has a smaller aperature than a standard detergent nozzle. I can’t find anywhere a formula that I can use to calculate maximum hose length using pressure washer specs, nozzle size, hose diameter, hose length etc. How did you calculate the maximum is 150ft?

    • @Powerwash
      @Powerwash  Pƙed 3 lety +1

      That is based on experience and recommending a conservative length so the use can be fairly certain it will work. Now I have run up to 300' with some injector but there a varying factors that can impact the distance. I wouldn't so caught up in finding a exact formula. Just be away of averaged and what will impact and you will will find the performance you desire.

    • @WalterFieldingJr
      @WalterFieldingJr Pƙed 3 lety

      That was quick 💹. Thanks for your reply. I’ve since found another source saying the same as you, 150ft. Strange how there is differing opinions on this as you would think the science of the whole thing would prevail. Out of interest, are you using a 3/8” high pressure hose or 1/4”? Something with you set up is not right or you have a downstream injector that isn't working properly. Check the arrow on the injector to make sure the flow of water is going thru it in the right direction.

    So when you’re spraying it low pressure it’s still shooting out chemicals, whenever you switch it to high pressure it’s still shooting out chemicals correct?

    I've been having issues but I think is due to my hose being too long.

    • @rivertownprowashchrisjohns8176
      @rivertownprowashchrisjohns8176 Pƙed 4 lety

      If your hose is over 200’ it will kill the suction. If you have to run more than 200’ of hose then use an X jet for that one part of the job.
