PLEASE LIKE THE VIDEO! What’s everybody thinking on the 327 swap? Dumb? Smart?
Smart but would run sniper unit ❤❤❤❤❤
Reverse LS swap??? This is the first time I’ve seen this on CZcams. Everyone else is putting one in. I’m here for it.
I mean you can send me the LS swap lmao 🤣. I think you're on the right direction
Smart. Love going back to more "classic"
That's too bad that the LS didn't work out. I used the stock harness and stock ecu on my g body swap and its been pretty great. Wiring is a piece of shit job tho. Fuck wiring
That small block looks SO MUCH BETTER than the LS in the engine bay.
The 327 suits the car better.
Don't ever sell it. You love that car and you and your dad built its heart together and it reminds you of your grandpa too. That's the one to pass down to your son. Cheers 👍
327 For the win. I love small blocks.
Yes a proper engine for your beautiful 57. So glad your scrapping that Ls
327 is probably my number 1 Chevy engine. I drop a couple of them in a few S-10's, perfect little powerhouse for those .
Glad you are throwing that LS. I've always been an old school v8 guy, so its nice to see something that is not an LS being built.
The 327 is LEGENDARY! A great motor with cool engineering history. It's way better than the LS, in my opinion. Plus, you can put on an old school carburetor on it OR an old school carburetor looking Holley EFI throttle body on it. The 327 is a win win for this particular build! Also, a Father & Son built engine is always sooo very awesome 👍 to place in your ride. Good job Casey on this video. Thanks for the video 📸, it's very appreciated!
This is why my '56 Chevy has a carburated SB 350. Its way cooler that the LS motors and less headaches.
Only because U have no clue what Ur doing! LS platform is 10 times what an old school small block is! Only the Ignorant bad mouth them. Casey doesn't have the knowledge end of story!
What the Hell, half way through and not one Giant pain n the ass 😂😅 What a great looking dog... 327 belongs in that car 👌
Thumbs up for the shop doggie...🐶
The fact he uses an umbrella while pressure washing in the rain is pure gold! Love the content!
Dang Casey, does that cute yellow umbrella match your purse too? Good thing you had it so you wouldn't ruin your hair doo and makeup!
Classic engine for a classic car now that is right smart move
To many fumes, brother, it's got you all jacked up ! 😂😂😂
Hay Bud love your videos and the content and one of the things I like about you is your not afraid to speak on the Bull shit and tell it like it is and love the story about you and your dad and it's awsome you putting in the 327!!!!
MAYBE... ....old school supercharger? I absolutely love that Chevy! Keepbem comin brother
327 choice is awesome and simple.
You need a permanent shop inspector on the channel! 🐾
Smart! HEI one wire, Alternator one wire, starter one wire. Compared to LS 200/wire & the ECM hanging out in the weather!!!
I like the 327 and ls but at the end of the day it's your car do what you want. Even if you put a diesel or something crazy in it as long as you are happy and driving it who cares. Have a good day
Man, that engine bay has soooo much room for activities.
Thank you for painting under the hood.
Needs an old school supercharger on top, help fill some of that space
Nice 327! Wise move !
Beautiful car with the perfect condition
Thrash and drive it
I've been told to put a LS swap in my 82 Buick regal I refused to since I tell them to buy the motor and wire it up for me if they can talk about it like its a easy thing to do... which can cause issue since I hate electronic issue. so I pulled my 4.1 V6 due to a crack block and spun 2 bearings and scored up the crank journal. So I bought another running V6 out of a 85 regal, pulled the old one and got the 3.8L V6 put it on the stand and did a full rebuild, and drop it in the regal. after 20 yrs I finally got it running! I made videos but haven't post another video on my update.
I love it! Small blocks sounds so much better anyway! 💯🔥
I have a 69 Camaro and contemplated an Ls. I had a big block 427 (LS1) that I put in bone stock. I am happy with my descision and love the 327 swap back.
Please don’t sell it , drive it , drive it and drive it until the wheels fall off Casey . Cheers 🇨🇦
327 is a great idea . But try a 327 crank in a Chevy 400 block too .❤👍🏻😃
Killer car man! I like it both ways, but the gen 1 small-block fits the traditional appearance. I'm surprised you're rockin' the wheel covers and whitewalls, but I like it.
I'm not mad about the 327 one bit, love an LS but everyone is doing them. Side note, please clean those whitewalls!
All my small blocks are always painted orange. And transmissions I paint blue. I painted one blue years ago because that was the only paint I had at the time. I just thought it looked good, so I keep painting them a dark royal blue.
SBC yes!😊😊
Booyah five seven in the house.....think the 327 is the way to go also!!
Love 57 bel air. A 57 convertible is my dream car but sadly they are really expensive where i live and i will never be able to afford to buy one..
this is the exact nightmare I wanted to avoid with LS swaps, but they do make carb manifolds and a distributor coversion
that looks much better and is so EZ to work on if needed
Yep works for me, mean little motor 🏁
Paint work is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The ls is so damn easy. eBay harness is under $200 and a proper ecu tuned is also $200.
or.. just get a Terminator X if your budget allows
@@LSx.Mustang I just don’t see a point on a stockish ls swap. If it’s going big power big boost totally. But in a 330hp mild cam 5.3 the oem stuff works great.
Sweet!!! Glad you're going old school 327. Best of luck, take care.
That's one way to get the water out of your air tank.😂 Put that moisture to good use. 👍
Don’t forget to remove the old piolet shaft bushing. It’ll break flex plates if not
Thats my favorite car to I bought one when I was 16 years old with my own money that was alot of money 50 years ago ❤❤❤❤❤
Yank it,go old school.always dependable
You’re not the only one who has had issues. I did a 6.0 swap into a 79 Malibu and made 128HP on the sloppy dyno with Matt pulling his hair out trying to tune that Desaster. Finally put it on eBay. Lost my ass…
Another option after you removed the wiring was to carb the ls. All you need is an msd box, a carb to ls intake manifold and a carburetor. None of the wiring needed. I guess you could still carb the ls engine and use it on another project
The perfect combination love it love watching what you're doing keep it up😮
Cool vid man and thanks for going against the rain...this LS the world thing is for the birds!! Cant wait to hear the 327 screamin !! I was gonna ask you what you listen to during these vids...turns out its Taylor Swift...lol... Just noticed the Caseys Customs tattoo.. is that available in the merch section? Hahaha keep at it mate!!
Old school is the way to go
I'm a '57 Heavy Chevy also and we are both 67 this year. Red is my favorite color. Now I want to call her Alli! LOL
Day 2 of asking for a Westen Champlin and Casey customs collab, you two could build a monster burn out car!!
A Skids4Kids charity burnout car would be insane!! Think about it Casey! Ik you have tons of projects your already working on but in the future when your thinking of a new project this could be a fun a fun idea! And for a great cause!
Bro it’s a fire build can’t wait
good job Casey 👍💪
Please do a build series with an LSX swap twin turbos! 😁
Love the 57. Also can't wait til you get back to the blazer.
Wow, it looks so tiny under that '57 hood. But once you get everything else in it'll make more sense. My brother (R.I.P.) had a '57 back in the late 70's. He worked on it for months, until my dad was transferred and we all, but my brother, went with. He had to sell it before getting it running.
Love it
oh boy the Hawk tua chick has entered the video
Gorgeous tri 5!
FYI if the TPS is showing full throttle while starting it cuts the injectors to clear flood. Its a little late now though.
Hmm. I’m thinking about keeping this engine for a truck i have, we might have to talk sir lol
@@CaseysCustoms let me know.
327 all the way
Ls swaps are literally the easiest thing possible you already did the hard part of getting the engine and trans in the car you could have bought a sub $200 harness and had any reputable tuner make it run correctly. I've started ls in junkyards with Milwaukee batteries and a deleted vats ecu. Basic efi knowledge goes a long way with this sort of thing. Being able to look at live data like crank and cam signals as well as tps and map and maf signals and knowing if they were correct would have allowed you to have it running effortlessly. A holley terminator x would have also had that engine running perfectly.
You should keep dog treats in your shop. For when the random dog shows up.
327 all day ❤👍😬
It’s the security system I. The stock ecu my truck does that when the battery dies u have to program the key in the ignition again it just cranks and won’t start
GL👍🏾✌🏾
For sure. Way better than the LS. Im getting tired of seeing LS swaps. The Honda is. Cool and one of a kind, but thats the type of engine that needs to be in a 57 Chevy
Looks Guuuud Brother 🤙🏼👏🏽👏🏽💪🏽❤️
Look at the MSD controller. It's easy to wire and program. 😮
I’ve got both, but not many things in this world sound better than a good old cammed sbc with some long tubes.
dad knows best
Nice ride Dan.... I mean Casey. lol
A 75 dollar ebay harness, an hour and 3 wires would have solved all the issues.
Its a lot less complicated than people make it out to be.
Very noice, go for a black and red theme. Roof black, chrome black and wheels black.
Yeah man, a proper old school engine in an old school hot rod is so right. The paint is kinda...meah, but it's better then my '57 Chevy (I don't have one' but I wish I did).
❤that color
could always call wine one one and get a wambulance!! sand in clam removal!
Ya need that shaker thing that pudding fab has
You could have shorted the 5v rail in the ecu or killed the injector channel by giving it 12v when the wiring melted.
Good ol’ Heinz 57
Sorry that happened to you watch you put it together it was hard on you and you are doing the right thing I think good luck bro❤❤❤❤❤❤
I ain't mad about the swap. I'm old school and hate that EVERYTHING is gettin LS swapped. I have an 81 Z28 I plan to add efi to the original 350. Lookin hard at ACES. I also have a 91 squarebody cre cab with an 8.1 which is basically an LS big block. With that said your LS problem was not ground it was power...
Hey man. You need modulo injection Fueltech. FT 450.
My mans doing a ls swapped 54 chevy and taking one out from a 57 lol 🤣
please look at doing raptor liner ..its cheap comes with a gun and its not rubberized can sand it and it is better than line-x etc
Other wires go to crank sensor. I'd replace the sensor as well
I think I saw you earlier this week in Rolla? If not someone had a very similar one!
What size ground wire from your alternator is going to your battery terminal. Because if it's too small it'll make everything act up and will burn up your alternator I had that problem with my Jeep we couldn't figure out all the wires and it never would run right but once we added a bigger wire to it ran perfect
You really need to get a shop dog , they really cut down on the stress
Ah cam/crank sensor failures.
In the future hook your meter up to the sensor leads and rotate the engine by hand. The sensor is an electro magnet. Either it's bad or the pick up on the crank or Cam is bad. Older Subarus you could diagnose which it was by failure. Fail to crank is crank, cranks but don't start is cam. Broken pick up is intermittent weirdness.
On a GM if it cranks and doesn't read an RPM on your scanner it's a bad crank sensor. Bad cam sensor will show an RPM but will not fire the injectors. If either sensor is bad it will not start.
May as well make that beast a tripower and step away from all the new junk. As irritating as it must be for you, that car is definitely worth it!
Put a carb on that 5.3 if u want it to run right
Bro did the tape peel all the paint off those fenders???
the honda build makes me miss my 91 mercury capri (not a typo look it up) I sold it for scrap a couple years ago after owning it for almost 20 years 😔
Could just pull the intake and put a carbie setup and you have the 350
So glad you came to your senses and ditched the LS. The LS is so over done.
