How can anybody not love Lucid? First, the Air. Now, Gravity. So far ahead of everyone in the automotive sector. Lucid as a company itself, is admirable. Anybody hating is just dumb or a Tesla stan. Long live, Lucid!

well they are known to break down and have numerous issues. i will admit most EVs as of now are not perfect, but at least a lexus or mercedes-benz electric car won't break down constantly
Right now (I think even after 2 years), no one competitor offers you a more reasonable option than Lucid Gravity for design, groundbreaking range, price, and individualism. Brilliant job.

@miles5600 my Tesla has a 310 mile range and even that feels excessive when you're charging every night. Sounds like a bunch of extra weight to be able to claim a high number that 99.9% of people won't utilize

People tend to choose based on their needs and while i need to drive a lot and cover large distances i still wouldn’t choose lucid cause they’re really new to the market and it will have defects so my choose is the ioniq 5 which drives amazing, has a great sound system and feels light and compact while being pretty darn fast.

hummmmm 80k is by all means not a fair price. It’s an expensive car. Chinese EVs has more features with half of the
price. Also the service and charging networks post serious questions for broad adoption.

I'm not a fan of SUV's but that thing is nice! I do like how they made it as efficient as possible and not so big and cumbersome for the sake of being big. Also, the space actually looks usable unlike some SUV's and crossovers.

Needs an optional gas range extender for us in apt.
This would also add hundreds of miles to the range installed where the rear seats go down a hybrid Prius gets 700 mile range fills up in2 minutes or less

O sold 0 track record about to go bankrupt basically a minivan without sliding doors and only 440 miles range 220 when it's cold, stuck when it's freezing.
.to be fair both are entirely different vehicles.

Lexus has a version in Japan that's even closer.
.this really does need either a hybrid, plugin 8r at least a small gas generator for say 100 miles from gas to increase the range preheat the batteries especially. In freezing cold or when chargers are not working.
That vehicle at the right price would sell like hotcakes.

It would be really helpful to add (unless it already has it) infrared or something like that for bad weather. An add on to one of the driver selectable screens would be nice. I would love to have one if I could ever afford it. lol. It is a great looking well thought out vehicle that will give Tesla a run for their money. Plus LCID stock price is affordable. You can. They announced the partnership with Tesla but most of the chargers they have are slow 150kwh chargers with 400v..But still I guess better than nothing.
@@rohitkurup6191 As long as it charges as fast as a Tesla, I'm good. It's rare that I need to spend more than 20 minutes at a Super Charger.
@@rohitkurup6191 It's a bit worse than that. At 400V you won't see more than 50kW. Lucid comes with EA charging for free for up to three years, depending on trim level. EA's network will charge a Lucid much faster...if it works. But if it doesn't, and I have to pay for charging anyway, and I won't get more than 50kW from Tesla (plus the cables aren't likely to reach) then I could use any CCS provider with 50kW or more until Tesla gets its act together and builds a V4 network with 1000V support.
By the time the Gravity comes out, it will have NACS so you will be able to charge at Tesla Superchargers. Assuming that the other providers add NACS by then, you'll be able to charge there too. But I wouldn't be surprised if you needed an adapter as a backup, in case there are CCS stations that haven't been converted and the only Tesla chargers around are pre-V4.

@@thadlm2698 Considering that you can get an Air Pure for under $75k, with AWD, I think that Lucid has kept its word on delivering a base trim at a good price. I wouldn't have expected the RWD to be that low at this point.
Spectacular. I already own a Lucid Air Touring. I was looking to replace my GMC pickup with a Rivian in the next few years. I wonder if Lucid will have a pickup truck in the pipeline by then.
I doubt it. Lucid is a premium brand. Trucks are just not glamorous. You don’t really see Mercedes or BMW trucks in America. If they make one it would be years down the line. Most likely next models will be smaller Air and Gravity and be around $50-$60k.

I own Lucid Air. It is an excellent car, but the software is not there yet, way behind Tesla. Does anyone know when the actual split-screen functionality will be coming? It is super annoying that the same screen has to share navigation, music, and phone, and only one at a time.
I always find it fascinating, that very fancy and high tech products are often hold back buy subpar decisions in software developments. I have the same with a mechanical keyboard I bought. The physical product is amazing, but the software lacks so many useful features....
And being a software developer, I know how relatively simple it is to implement a split screen functionality. The lack of it in the air software as you said has nothing to do with it being too difficult or expensive... Just bad decisions.
I wish car screen software would be open-source, so people could design plugins or their own variants of the software and modify it how ever you want. Sadly the world is moving towards less choice, freedom and personalization not more.
I love my Audi etron sportsback premium plus but saving my money for Gravity. So jealous of Lucid it hurts😂

I really mean this without sarcasm-- I have always wanted a minivan that didn't come with the image of a minivan. A truly utilitarian do-it-all vehicle that was designed for adults and not just families. This checks all the boxes. Fast, fun, practical, capable, efficient, spacious, supple (I hope), remotely affordable (I really hope). Need more vehicles like this!
Ford Flex was the dad mini van back in the day. Still kinda is. Gravity takes it up a notch, bringing luxury and performance. I suspect this will be a major seller, kinda like Kia Telluride. It's going to bite into so many luxury brand, like Tesla did.
People like to categorize things and then go by image, but let's look at how the images came into place. First there were station wagons. They took people to and from train stations, had room for luggage, and held more passengers. Over time, they morphed into extended sedans with room in the back for cargo and possibly extra seating. Then they got a reputation as "moms' cars" as if there's something wrong with that. Then Iacocca came up with the idea of the minivan. He took something more macho, a van, and turned it into a better solution than a station wagon. But over time, they got a reputation as a soccer mom's car, as if there's anything wrong with that. The reality is that they were good at carrying passengers and cargo.
Then SUVs started taking the place of minivans, since SUVs were off road vehicles with uncomfortable truck chassis, that were somehow more masculine. But few buyers took them off the road much, if ever, once they became popular. As they evolved, they got car-like suspensions, more comfort and luxury, and became crossovers and MPVs. They are actually closer to the original notion of a station wagon than a modern station wagon is. For practical purposes, they are a better vehicle for most people. And station wagon might even be a more accurate term than minivan, since they don't have sliding doors. But there's a question of image. Call them crossovers and people will buy them.
The whole idea of what is and isn't an SUV fell apart once Tesla came up with AWD with motors at each end and no drive shaft, because the fundamental issue of chassis type no longer made sense. Broad definitions of platform no longer apply. So let people throw shade at any category that they want, and let them explain why, aside from sexism, they feel that way. They won't have a good answer in all likelihood.

I think this idea is much more popular than your idea around minivans and sexism would allow you to consider.

this is what automotive enthusiasts want. Even though we still want an EV, we still want a BATTERY that is smaller but more powerful and doesn't impact the WEIGHT of the vehicle.

Yes, they finally figured out Tesla has the best charging standard and joined the club.
@@thadlm2698 The standard isn't better but the reliability is better and the connector is better as long as it's not an overly thick cable. I have a Tesla wall connector at home capable of 80A, and with a thick cable. It's harder to manipulate than the one that comes with the Lucid, but that won't be the case for a V3+ Supercharger. Until the V4 ones come out, CCS still has better chargers at 350kW and 1000V, but it's a moot point if they aren't reliable. If they work, I should be able to add up to 200 miles of range in 12 minutes, as opposed to well over an hour at a Tesla Supercharger with a Lucid, until V4 gets deployed.
