Good afternoon, well this vlog put a crimp in the household weekend. I think I mentioned I'm a retired chef. And I have cooked thousands of Yorkshire Puds over my career. My wife, & my son and his partner have always preferred the puffed up crispy style. And for the easy life, that's what they get. However, my late mum made batter pudding 😋❤️🧓Which gives a slab of cake look. A thick stodgy pudding, that in the old-fashioned way should be served with gravy BEFORE the meat and vegetables ( any leftover would be used with jam for the afternoon tea) Never sure what made folk flock to Aunt Bessie's. Your two examples both look weird and sound great. And if cooked in a pudding tray, brilliant. Hope you saved the extra batter and gave your good lady a beltin' toad in the hole for tea😋Another entertaining video Kevin. Have a good weekend. Cheers Allan&Family

Thanks for your comments Allan and you reminded me of my late mam and she did similar to yours having served first with gravy and the leftover mix I gave to my daughter and it cooked well in her oven and went down a treat , Enjoy the sun ……is it going to last ?

I watched gino de campo years ago and so easy never fails. Equal cups or plain flour, eggs and milk. Season to taste. Simples. ❤

Just remember to drop the temperature by 10 degrees & reduce the cooking time in an air fryer.
It's not as simple as a straight swap from oven to air fryer, the air is blown around much harder in an air fryer and will burn your food if you don't make the adjustment.
That's probably why his looked burnt.

I'm sure those both tasted outstanding but on appearance alone I can honestly say they don't inspire me to invest in an airfryer 🤣

Hi and thanks for your comments and yes you have a point , I was surprised by the appearance too , I guess the Ninja settings i used didn’t suit what I was cooking, I perhaps should of either reduced the temperature or and the cooking time , I will give it another go and see what happens .

Yorkshire puds are easy as long as you have a decent tin and a little discipline.

Thanks for your comments and I’m just realising that but what is fascinating is the wide variation of a simple recipe.

@@thedurhamvlogger Also, never tried in an air frier, but id put the mad shapes down to temp variations and the fan, you would probably get a more uniform shape in a normal and more gentle fan oven.
