I have always just called the schrader valve the "valve core" , it's what all the people said in the 60's and 70's where I grew up . Your video was great for teaching someone how the machine works .

I used an older Coats 10-10 back in the 60s. On rare occasions where I couldn't get the upper bead to seat by pulling up on the tire, we had an inflatable rubber tube wrapped around the tread to squeeze the bead into position. When I couldn't find that rubber tube, I used a ratchet strap around the tread to squeeze the bead into position.

I just got one of these tonight. I am wondering what the lever is for that has the knob on it. I'm missing the cover where your tools would go.

i believe it is for how far the top lever pules down depending on the size of the tire to be honest it doesn't seem to make a big difference on my machine.but mine might not be working wright i would strongly recommend getting some used wheels and messing with the machine thanks for watching.

Would you be able to make some patterns out of paper or card stock of the cover I'm missing? I would pay you for postage and time.

Hi Sam, Nice video. I was wondering if we could exchange pictures of where the bead breaker notches slip onto the bolt. I just bought one of these and someone put a 1/4 carriage bolt there. I believe it should have a 1/2 bolt. Not sure why someone would do that. Anyway on the manual I have it only shows it having one bolt hole on the parts diagram and mine has two bolt holes. If you can help me out I would really appreciate it! I can provide my email if needed. Thank you.

mine is the same it must be something the old timers used to do because it was stronger then what it came with the holes are just for adjustment hope this helps

Thanks for the quick reply- not talking about the adjusting holes. I'm actually talking about where the bead breaker contacts on the bottom to the actual mechanism that drives the bead breaker up and down when the pedal is pressed. Not sure if this makes sense or not. I don't think I can post a picture here on the comment board can I? Maybe I can make a short video clip? Not trying to bother you I just don't know anyone else that could help me out. Thanks again,
