    CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Charlie (Tom Hanks) and Bonnie (Amy Adams) are completely overwhelmed when they hear war horror stories from the refugees in Afghanistan.
    FILM DESCRIPTION:
Produced by Tom Hanks, written by Aaron Sorkin, and directed by Mike Nichols, this adaptation of George Crile III's incendiary bestseller tells the remarkable story of the Texas congressman whose efforts to prevent the Red Army from overtaking Afghanistan eventually led to the collapse of the Soviet Union while simultaneously fueling the rise of radical Islam. In the early 1980s, a hastily assembled army of Afghan "freedom fighters" achieved the remarkable feat of fending off Soviet invaders despite the fact that the odds were overwhelmingly stacked against them. At the time, Texas congressman Charlie Wilson (Hanks) was a key member of the hugely powerful House Appropriations Committee. Illuminated to the specifics of this remarkable war by a high-profile Houston socialite, Wilson spearheaded an effort to provide hundreds of millions of dollars in weapons and training to the Mujahideen with more than a little help from brilliant but prickly CIA operative Gust Avrokotos.

Russians were/are sick.. Also the losses they suffered in war were way more than the NATO and US can ever imagine. I don't get America. The west Pakistanis were committing terrible atrocities on the erstwhile East Pakistani people. Because of that millions of refugees entered India to escape the persecution and when war broke out between India and Pakistan over this same issue in 1971, America stood by Pakistan and sent its armada of ships to threaten India. America failed to take the moral, do the right thing type stand at that time.

Maybe you should treat yourself with some degree of self-respect that isn't centered in arrogance. Europe is really good at looking down its nose, but pretty poor at saying "no". So now you have the worst of both worlds: A society filled with second-class citizens who feel no connection to the nation that took them in, and have stronger ties to their religion than they do to the ideals that created these safe, wealthy nations to begin with.
