- New characters for season 2 have finally been revealed for Street Fighter 6. In a shocking surprise, we're getting guest characters from SNK. Terry and Mai from the Fatal Fury series will be joining the SF6 roster. We also have returning characters with M. Bison and Elena. The release dates are up with the year 2 pass. @@ΚρανίΩ The base roster needed to have at least 1 SF3 rep and 1 Final Fight rep. Because this is a game set in the future timeline and in Metro City. Simple logic... It's not being biased for certain chars.
Like, I get the feeling that these new directors just dislike those chars and SF3 in general, and want to more or less "overwrite" that timeline in a way that becomes focused on the same old SF2 veterans. But then the decision to exclude SF3 completely is just wrong, it's showing a strong personal bias that shouldn't be interfering on the game this way.
They are the bosses and all, but it's not right to totally exclude the original "future timeline cast" from the base roster + season 1... Because there's no right explanation for it. That looks disrespectful to the franchise lore. They are just two dudes that came and became the SF directors because Ono was fired, and are making the newest version of this 35 year franchise.

@@megamc3803the prices for costumes are crazy and i didn't like this season's picks but the game is really good, feature rich, and net code is best in the genre.The world tour isn't perfect but it's a fun story mode and great way to bring in beginners. I haven't spent a dime on skins or costumes. It sucks how they are playing games with the currency and i refuse to play along but You are doing yourself a disservice by not playing. Especially since it's on sale now.

I'm hyped for the characters but come on man, my mental health can *NOT* take another year of slow updates and a slog like A.K.I. to Ed.
The former was already addressed by SF6's director Nakayama, balance updates will be more frequent.
The latter is harder cause it takes them a lot longer to make SF6 characters compared to SF5 and SF4 ones.

Maybe if the didnt spend most of there staff pushing out all the avatar rubish no one wants, then we would have more charachters per yr

They really said this game took place after SF3 only to completely ignore every villain and immediatelly reintroduce Bison.
We still have only 4 characters per year, and the two guests that we have aren't even that unique, wow another standard dude with unga and a zoner with unga.
I don't doubt that the characters will be cool in-game, the quality standard for SF6 is really good, but there are so many other characters I'd rather see than these.
And now that Guest Characters are on the board I can't wait for IDK, Oppenheimer in Season 3 or some shit.

It is. Thing is, it's also a landmark moment for the series, and Terry and Mai are fighting game royalty.
It's obviously a move to promote the upcoming Fatal Fury character, it covers the marketing side for SNK too, and will give them more spotlight in a big and known franchise as SF is.

simply put with how modern fighting games are like old and new characters are re-done from scratch to suit the new game mechanics. in the 90s it was more possible to simply re-use old asset sprites and slap them on a new game like every re-release of 2,3, alpha and marvel vs capcom. The last time they did this re-usage was in infinite with 90% of the roster were from 3 and they were basically ripped with the exact same animations and looking a little off in comparison to the new characters and we know how all that went down when they did that

I said this to a friend last year about hat if they added Terry and have South Town as a place in World Tour. In Worl Tour, Kimberly mentioned that she's not from Metro City, but from another town. They can say that she's originally from South Town.

I feel like the to bring the classic characters first: Sagat, Balrog, Vega and T. Hawk along with Bison. Then add other popular characters like Dudley, Decapre, Rose, Birdie, to name a few.

Passes are up on steam £27 for the four charachters with one outfit, or a eye watering £50 for four charachters with 3 outfits and 2 extra stages, capgreed they need to be called, for me with the charachters releasing its a no go, plus tempted to walk away from this game and return when the game eventually packs in all charachters and costumes in a few yrs time
There's no reason people should be worried about Healing. The reason why it was so good in SF4 is because it wasn't a Super. It was an Ultra. The way you gained Ultra meter in SF4 was to lose health. So she would lose health, which gave her the meter she needed to recover that health, and then when she lost THAT health she would again gain the meter she needed to recover health. The Ultra mechanic gave her a feedback loop where she could keep looping Healing over and over because dealing damage to her is what gave her meter for Healing. That system did not exist in SF3 and does not exist in SF6.

It feels like the norm to have crossovers to keep people interested. Especially for a small genre like fighting games. I think the fear for me is that all fighting games will start doing this from now on and guest characters won’t feel special.
I am watching recent interviews from SNK about City of the Wolves. They were open to the idea of having more of their IP in other games. I’m ok with that if that means SNK games become recognizable to people.

These being the four characters we get for another year is....horrifying. SF6 just doesn't have any of the characters I loved, and continues to not get a single one. Two slots lost to the most vanilla of snk guest characters for a cross promo opportunity. We're taking a year off boys, see you maybe for season 3.

5 just for Mai and Terry. Mai dream has come true. And I'm excited to see the greatest villain of all time M Bison come back. And I'm pleased capcom are giving Elena a spot in SF6. She could heal M Bison at the end of seaon 2 .
My opinion for Season 2 DLC probably not popular and against all the hype but i wil say it: I'm dissapointed. First) 2 guest characters from other company took the slots that should be for SF classic characters. I'm personally against the idea of non-Capcom guest characters in mainline SF since we had cross over games like CvS, MvC, etc. But I guess making characters is less expensives than developing a full game and it seems Capcom (or Nakayama since he was an ex SNK) wants to help SNK with CotW marketing. But Vesper said, at least Terry and Mai are fighting games characters and not Noctis, Robocop, or Rambo lol. I just hope this non-Capcom guest character is a one time only.
Second) Bison should stay dead at least until season 4 or 5 or the next SF. Not just his ressurection made _"A Shadow Falls"_ story arc in SF V feels completely pointless (Nash died twice for nothing) but he undermine JP value as a main villain in SF 6. But again, Bison is a very popular character that guaranteed money for Capcom. I'm okay with Elena though, had fun with her in SF 3. But Capcom better not give her healing super. I gave it _2 out 5_ for Season 2.

@gramoulzlu Not it matters much but unless I'm missing something really obvious I don't agree with you. They're displaying the characters left to right in order, obviously conveying the one on the left comes out first and the one on the right comes out last.
Say Bison comes out in August 2024 and then Terry follows in November. That takes us to early 2025, when Elena comes out. The way it's displayed here Mai is not coming out before Elena. I assume that's what you meant, as the January/February after Elena would obviously be Winter 2026.
I see what you meant about the Year 1 trailer with Ed but in that one he's clearly displayed to the left of Akuma indicating he would come out first, which he did.
So either they made a big formatting error or I'm right and Mai is taking ages to come out. Or I missed something obvious. Always a chance.

Bison already confirmed for 26th June. Terry probably in September-October, Mai could be January-February, and Elena could be April-Mei 2025. It's the same as Season 1 released.

Yeah. I'm not a fan of guest character in mainline SF and now there's two of them taking the slots that should be for SF characters.
I think Elena should have healing but it should cost 6 drive bar (and can't be used unless full) and put her into instant burnout.
Meanwhile, guest characters, ugh, don't wanna. They take away very important SF fan favorite character slots. Heck I would have rather had two entirely new SF characters rather than guest characters. I've already decided that I am not going to get the season pass, I'm going to buy Bison and Elena separately. I'd normally get season pass because I love having whole roster but I don't consider Terry and Mai part of the roster anyhow, so meh. Gonna save money this season.

Capcom adding Mai to stress test their physics engine to breaking point.
Healing would work in sf6 because of how high burst damage is in this game compared to usf4. Unless they make her healing her SA2 then her healing probably wont be as strong or it would be an install that recovers some health and drive gauge on hit and block

Makes sense now why the new fatal fury has such a similar drive system. Snk being a four button game also aligns with modern controls
SF4 meta is already so defensive that's why Elena being toxic in that environment. I doubt Elena would be a problem even if she has healing as her SA2.
Capcom must be running out of ideas for new characters. Why don't they put in some Darkstalker characters like Jon Talbain or characters from the EX games like Skullomania or Doctrine Dark.

I'm not going to pretend by having fake hype like most of these delusional fanboys have. To keep it real it's very disappointing that guest characters are taking up 50% of the lineup which is just completely nonsensical and a complete waste. The lineup just mostly feels very stale, unimaginative, nonsensical, uninteresting, repetitive, and corporately forced. It's completely tone deaf from what many SF fans wanted. You would think Capcom would have the common sense to know SF fans want to play SF characters in a SF game. Not some lame generic one off guest characters who aren't coming back in the future and steal spots from actual SF characters. There's still a bunch of way more interesting, popular, and heavily requested SF characters that deserve to be in the game more than most of these lame picks. Also, Nash has died completely for nothing now and SFV is pointless which is just a pathetic joke. I just feel like Capcom made mostly all of these character picks only because of sex appeal, cheap broad popularity, and money alone. It just feels like a very scummy inauthentic desperate move and doesn't really make sense to have most of these characters this early over clearly more deserving SF characters that fans have wanted back for years. Mostly all of these picks don't bring anything new or interesting to the game except maybe Elena. Terry is just another mostly lame generic shoto in a game where there is already too many. Basically, Ken with a trucker hat and jeans. Mai is one of the least interesting and most unimaginative female characters ever in an SNK game and was only picked because of sex appeal towards braindead horny gamers. She's just another less interesting Chun-Li. Bison looks like the same old boring shit we've already seen too many times before only now he's got the most unimaginative nonsensical shit like having a horse and looking like a hobo. His design looks awful too like they just threw random ideas together because they thought it would look cool. He still looks like a complete cartoonish joke of a villain and in almost every aspect looks very out of place in SF6. He's pointless in a game where there is already a much better and more interesting villain who uses psycho power in JP. Also only having 4 characters for over a year is terrible for how much Capcom is overpricing all this shit. There needs to be more than 4 because that is a dam ripoff especially for $70. I wouldn't have nearly as many problems with this season if it was 5-6 characters and only one guest character because then the price would feel somewhat justified. All this just tells me that the games director has completely lost touch because now it looks like a complete scummy lame waste of a season. Just more of the same old shit from last season only somehow worse. Capcom is truly creatively bankrupt now. Whats worse it their just going keep nickel and diming their delusional fanboys so they can exploit them as much as possible. Once again glad I didn't waste my money on this game because Crapcom is clearly still alive and well. People still wonder why games popularity has fell off a cliff since launch and why it will only continue to do that this season. I got Guess characters right but that was more of a wishlist, great surprise because I was thinking maybe Tekken or Ex Layer, Skyler White but I like these KOF characters.

Didnt realize they released the gameplay trailer early. SF6 Bison is looking even better then I could have imagined. For once they didnt hold back. SFV Bison wasnt it for me, despite how good he was in the tierlist. THIS IS M. BISON!

Really disappointed with this season pass. 2 guests from the same serues out of 4 characters, and one of the actual SF characters is hobo Bison? Lame.

And he looks great never been a bison fan but he does look fun have they said if he is a full charge character or is he a hybrid like honda.
Kinda disappointing to have 2 guest characters so soon into the game when last season was a bunch of new characters.
Kinda disappointed. Elena is cool and I can see terry being a lot of fun but I just wanted ibuki, sakura, or makoto. Too early for guests in my opinion.
