It may or may not be to the extent of putting Mara Jade in, but frankly I feel they could do anyone from Ulic Qel-Droma to Lu'uke justice. Maybe I'm glazing tho, tbh.

Hell yeah, bro. This game, even though I haven't played it much, has a special place in my heart. When I was a kid, I went to some sort of resort with my parents. On the site there was, other than little houses to rent, a bar/store type thing. I remember it being mostly empty, actually, but there was an arcade cabinet. Like, an actually working one and not just for show. Blew my little 2006 Polish mind. Either way, it was this game. Well, I don't remember exactly if was Star Gladiator or Plasma Sword, but I do remember always picking Saturn, because he was a funny weirdo. There was another kid around my age, and we played the game against each other whenever we could. I even remember playing against his mom once. She picked Gerelt, because he "looks like a gentleman." (I don't know why I remember that specifically, but there you go.) After I went home and some time passed, I thought I made this game up. Thankfully Saturn is so peculiar looking that when I saw him randomly some time later, the memories came flooding back.

I never got to play Star Gladiators but I did manage to play Plasma Sword. It along with Tech Romancer (any chance doing a video on that game?) were the few games that ate up my allowance back then. It was a really fun game and it was an easy game to play. Me and my buddies would play this game crazy back in the arcade. It's nice to see Plasma Sword is getting some attention and I hope (even though I'm not holding my breath on it) they bring this series back along with Rival Schools and Tech Romancer.
Hey Guile, you should do a room tour one of these days. I’d like to see what parts of Arcade history you own as well as games and consoles to date as well as your room in general. I own quite a bit of hardware and software myself. And now I want to play Plasma Sword on my Dreamcast. Why haven’t I played that one yet I ask myself, but that’ll change soon and it’s all thanks to you my man.
I do not own every single piece of history mind you as I don’t own absolutely every system known to man just to be clear or arcade boards for that matter which I have none of but I’m okay with that as I don’t collect PCBs, MAME is just fine for me. Got a few arcade sticks (the Gundam one I imported from Japan is my favourite for how goddamn cool it looks, not selling that one, ever) and fighting game-specific controllers (my favourite being the HORI Octa as I often use it to play fighters and shmups with thanks to its analog stick, Battle Garegga was an awesome experience using the OCTA pad, thanks HORI and M2) as well as Brook adapters which is awesome as you won’t need to buy an old super expensive arcade stick for the PS1 or 2 for instance, you can use your brand new shiny and cool as hell arcade stick on older hardware which is just the coolest thing ever. I’m saving up money to buy a Nacon stick for my PS5 as I’m getting rid of my Razer stick on my next trip this weekend and after that trip. Gotta make room after all. I definitely want to customize it once I get it as the panel is easily replaceable. Arcade sticks are expensive (not to the point of unaffordable mind you) but I totally get that, I had to save up to buy some of those bad boys.
I would love to see this game brought back. A modern version of Plasma Sword with the domain expansion mechanic could be a fighting game of the year if done right.
Hello guile, sorry for my bad english because i dont know if you take requests but by seeing you love obscure fgs i recomend you to check the Dual Blades and its sequels Slashers and Dual Souls Dual Blades is a *Turkish* indie fg released on the *gameboy advance* , and one of the 5 gba games with M rating. By the gameplay you could say that is a mix between SamSho, SF3 and Guilty Gear, with things such as a roman cancel, parry, burst, super select and fatalities. The game also have an Arcade, training, survival, score attack, time attack and a *combo challenge / tutorial for a gba* and *A COMMAND LIST THAT EXPLAINS ALL SPECIALS AND UNIVERSAL MECHANICHS* , something that other gba fgs such as ggx, sfa3 and tekken didnt had for the console (and even other consoles). About the gameplay most characters have simple inputs shuch as in Akatsuki, with them being quarter circles, down down, foward down and back foward (but they're not charge moves). The buttons are slash (kinda like a medium slash from sam sho, that you can do a 3 frame jab if you input foward too), big slash ( heavy slash, also grab foes if you press foward while close), kick ( a medium attack that if you input foward will be a 3 frame kick too) and the power button. The power button is special because if you tap two times you do a taunt that gains meter, and if you press power + slash you do an overhead. Also all supers are done with this button. The gimmicks of this game are pretty intersting too, let me explain. There is a parry in this game that works exactly like sf3, input foward before getting hit (that is called block, because the game calls standart blocking guarding for some reason). Recovery, the roman cancel is done by pressing both slash + big slash while perfoming a move ( and costs some meter ). The burst is called breaker and is done by pressing back + slash + big slash while taking damage (costs a full meter bar). You can dash and back dash by pressing one of the side buttons two times. Now the plot and characters are very unique in my opinion. The setting is a more *realistic take of the middle age* , but unhapply i didnt finished the arcade mode yet. The cast is composed of: Kanae and Brendan are the shotos with all the toolkit of one and command grabs. She is a samurai wanting revenge and he is an adventurer who loves danger (His motto is nothing venture nothing gain) and simps for all women in the game. Andre is a templar knight who is also a parry/ big body and maybe a grappler ( he is slow and have a follow up to his throw ). His taunt also throw a rose like dudley, and is a insanely good projectile. He fights to save his kingdom from the lizard people. Efe is an ottoman warrior and a zoner with his high low mixup of projectiles. He fights for Türkiye as far as I know. Rungard is also a zoner who cant dash but have a special teleport. He have fire, eletric and ice projectiles that give you unfair hit stun (he is a psycho who wants to destroy the world, thats it). He is based in a viking/ celtic sorcerer probaly. Shin is a rushdown zoner with the most damaging and safest projectile in the game, its insane diagonal range is impossible to jump or crouch over it. To his design he is green testament who uses crows who loves the blood of a slit throat and people screaming ☠️ (Not even The Boys have that shi ) Nagashapa is an elderly Mongolian sorceress and farmer, who give you all kind of curses like no jump, no specials and backwards controller. She uses ghosts for those attacks. And we have Jaman, one of the lizard man that attacks Andre's kingdom. He looks like a mix between an armadillo, akuma and blanca and plays exactly like those with the exception of summoning lizards for his attacks (also a 1 frame active overhead aimed at the foe). Well, that its Dual Blades for today. I could say something about the sequels but thats another history. Also sorry for the big text.
1:30 Okay, I knew about Hayato and Jun being a thing (Especially after Jun's dark, yet *really* wholesome Good Ending in Star Gladiator), but I *NEVER* knew they had their own Future Trunks daughter in the sequel. YO THEY RELEASED PLASMA SWORD IN CAPCOM FIGHTING COLLECTION 2
Hello guile, sorry for my bad english because i dont know if you take requests but by seeing you love obscure fgs i recomend you to check the Dual Blades and its sequels Slashers and Dual Souls
Dual Blades is a *Turkish* indie fg released on the *gameboy advance* , and one of the 5 gba games with M rating.
The cast is composed of:
Kanae and Brendan are the shotos with all the toolkit of one and command grabs.
To his design he is green testament who uses crows who loves the blood of a slit throat and people screaming ☠️ (Not even The Boys have that shi )
Nagashapa is an elderly Mongolian sorceress and farmer, who give you all kind of curses like no jump, no specials and backwards controller.
My guy with how much knowledge you have on the game, you should make the video.
1:30
Okay, I knew about Hayato and Jun being a thing (Especially after Jun's dark, yet *really* wholesome Good Ending in Star Gladiator), but I *NEVER* knew they had their own Future Trunks daughter in the sequel. Capcom beat IS at time-traveling daughter from the future 15 years ago...
I really hope this gets a collection in the future. I've always wanted to try these games out since they look really cool, also both games' OST are great and I have them on my laptop and phone!
GuileWinQuote seems to have the opposite of PAT’s Stand [C R A Z Y T A L K]. Every time the man makes a video about an obscure fighting game the universe wills a rerelease into existence.
@guilewinquote: You did it Your video willed Plasma Sword into existence. Capcom Fighting Collection 2!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this game and project justice as well but plasma sword was the game where I was very interested in the lore as a alternative to star wars but unfortunately we didn´t get much and can you imagine my surprise when Hayato was in MVC 2?! ooooh good times but thank you for the history lesson, glad to see people not forgetting this very amazingly underrated games
Heck yeah! About time you gave an underrated Capcom series the attention it deserves! I really wish this among others in their library got more games especially to be their answer to Soul Calibur just with it in a sci-fi setting alongside setting itself apart with the tech it has & homage but evolved designs from the Star Wars series
11:05 i LOVE the way the "CRASH" effect is rendered in 3d
Oh, so you're a prophet, huh?
"Domain Expansion"
Rather like "Reality Marbles", but point taken
are you sure you're not secretly working for snk and capcom lol
