Join me on an amazing campout in the most remote, northern location I've ever shot a video at.
I get dropped off alone by a fishing boat, on a remote northern Island in the Northwest Territories in remote Canada, left by myself to last the day and night.
I go on a huge hike to find a suitable spot to fish, I pull out about 7 or 8 small lake trout, I keep one for an epic catch and cook.
I sit by the campfire, and relax at night.

Joe, you’ve done it again! Clean, crisp, original... and YES, CZcams has afforded you the luxury to be where you are, but remember that you earned it! The hard way! The right way! You set a goal, years ago I imagine and those seeds are blossoming... you work hard, damn hard, for what? Maybe there is a chip on your shoulder, but man, do you play it cool!!! Every episode you upload is a god send. Better than the rest. You strive to educate, entertain, and you give us an unselfish view of your relationship with the outdoors. It doesn’t have to be 100% Bushcraft, there is more to life than a bow drill, but you have a Knack, a Knack, for giving your audience what they want. And it’s natural. A lot of hard work but so peacefully natural. That’s the Knack! That’s why we love you. It takes it’s toll, and it shows. You work hard for us and your family and it’s time to reap the rewards. You’re bringing us your dream life, and we can’t stop watching.
Be well, God bless, it’s a rocky road. Just ask Shawn. Take care, blow your nose, and please go on another lackadaisical journey with Shawn, Doug and Scotty and just roast some damn marshmallows and chill. Catch your breath, some fish and just be.......
    Your American friend,
    MG
    We love you, MAN!

You like it up here, eh? It’s so wild and beautiful. Rugged and sparse, yet resources abound if you look. Next time you’re in Yellowknife, hit me up. Got a spare room, a boat, five minutes from Great Slave Lake. Seriously. Or a winter adventure? Pack some sleds, tent, stove and go bush! It’s the greatest place on earth. Wait until you see the true barren lands as well. Such humbling beauty. I had to laugh when you said your CZcams channel brought you to the NWT. The NWT brought me my CZcams channel! LOL. Message me here or on Bushcraft North of 60 on Facebook if you’re interested. Lots of good friends up here to hook you up with boats, snowmachines, planes, etc. Great video, man. I could tell you were in awe of it. Trust me, it never gets old. Take care. Glad you enjoyed yourself up here.

      Call Of The Wild
yeah they are pretty dark, sun usually comes up fully by 10am and starts going down around 3pm
It’s cold but I find winters in Nova Scotia worst. It’s a dry cold, hangs between -30 and -40 most of the winter but with a goose down jacket a warm sweater under it and a wool cap your good to go.
Proper preparation prevents piss poor performance.

Joe, I'm 58 years old. When I was a kid, our family used to go on Rocky Mountain area camping trips mostly in camper trailers but I always wanted to backpack. I started watching your youtube channel recently. Great stuff! Recently had the opportunity to hike with my son and friends for three days in the Rocky's. What a great experience for me! While camping, I was thinking,,, What would Joe do... Anyway hope to see future videos of you as an old man like me still acting like a kid.

Hi Joe thanks for another great video. And a bigger thanks for inspiring me to get back into the woods for the first time in 17 years. I was supposed to be doing a 24 hr camp but I had such a great time and relaxed it ended up being 36 hrs instead. And 25th I'm going again I can't wait. Thank you

Me too, always love camping when I was in Boy Scouts but got away from it. After watching all his videos I decided to get back into it and it was not a regrettable decision LOL

I would like to camp but there aren't any forests in my area. Everything is a farmland. Sigh...

I love how you always reflect on the stepping stones that got you to the moment you're in now. as long as you always remember those steps then you will always stay on the right path. thank you for giving me inspiration to get my butt back in the woods this summer. I've already been camping twice and just got done doing a three-day, two-night backpacking trip in the Adirondacks. I will say your fish looked a lot better than my pouch of tuna LOL keep up the good work bud

How fine would it have been if your guide had landed you on that point? If you take that much lard for overnight, why not take salt and pepper? Love the campfire on the lakeshore! I am amazed at how willing you are to hike and hike and hike over this terrain. Thanks for taking us along. I would have landed on the fishing point, set up back up the hill in the tree line; fished; had supper and, if I had WiFi, settled in to watch the sky and read a book in between times.

Some enjoy the journey as much as the destination. You can sky gaze and read a book anywhere, you don't get many chances to explore special new places this far away from home. Also he wouldn't have had most of the video he shared with us. It'd probably as boring for him as it'd be for us watching an hour of video of him pulling fish after fish and just sitting around camp doing nothing.

    • @FunnyKlatt
      @FunnyKlatt Před 5 lety

Yes, after seeing that camping spot in the trees near the beach with the fire pit I spent the rest of the video thinking of how great it would have been from him to camp there. Someone could get really comfy there for quite a long time being that close to them automatic fish.

I will admit, I am not a out doors person what so ever, my idea of camping is a hotel with ac/heat and internet, but your videos are so enjoyable to watch. Thank you for showing me more of the Canadian wilderness. This is what CBS needs to air, show real life Survivor, not some tropical vacation lol

Hey joe, no offense meant my dude but you really should use straps for your hammock. Using cord around the trees damages them. I know you are a great stward of the outdoors, that is why im passing that on to you. Thank you for continuing to put up great vids. I only get to go out a few times per year so you keep me going. Some great footage of a most beautiful and wild place. That place seems great and what a guide. One day I will go to Alaska. I'm grateful to know someone that lives there and has invited me. It's one of my dreams.
