  • In this video I tell you my story, how did living in Poland changed my personality after 10 years? I will point out the basic daily aspects that are different for me living in Warsaw. I can't extrapolate to small towns and villages, for sure living is different there, but I wanted to give my honest opinion.

The internet is actually pretty good, I lived 5 years in Germany and it was both more expensive and worse there. Now I live in the countryside in Poland and I have a 300 mbps fibre optic cable which costs me 13 euros a month. It's gooood :)

It was a great video, thank You! Btw - public transport looks more or less the same in all medium and big cities. The only difference is metro, which is only in Warsaw. Rest of the cities in Poland don't need it that much though, since they're smaller in size. And I agree - we have a great public transportation system that we don't really appreciate. You're in Poland for some time now so You know that Poles are kinda grumpy and not the first to say something is great :D

About internet speed - YES! I don't live in Warsaw (I live in Katowice), but still I've got a high-speed internet and for me it's normal. But when I travel abroad - like France, Italy etc. (I've been to Spain only once and only Barcelona, so I don't have comparison) - I am surprised that the internet is slower! I don't know why.

If comes to rent Warsaw Gdańsk and Kraków is the most expensive cities however if you live in other cities is much much more cheaper

Interesting. Other foreignes from south usually have the opposite impression about the pedestrians - they have more rights and are like saint cows, you have to really pay your attention becuse they tend to walk freely and expect you to stop even if it's hard (slippery, dark).
As to public transportation in Warsaw, yeah, many people price it, but I lived in Vienna for 8 years - they have probably the best puiblic transportation in the world! So when I went to Warsaw and saw how public transport works there, it was a catastrophically bad! In the center, it's decent, not good but OK. Outside the core center is abysmally bad! I could write a chapter how bad it is! That is how good public transport is in Vienna.

Dude, Warsaw has by far the most expensive rent per ²m in Poland.
For comparison in the city Jelenia Góra (80K population) you can rent a 3 room apartment at the market square for ~ 360€.
Modern & Newly renovated with a full Kitchen & big corner bathtub.
You can find way cheaper flats if you are searching further away from the city center.
If i were you, i would search 4 a flat outside of Warsaw cuz again prices in Warsaw are insane compared to the rest of Poland.
BTW most Polish buy a flat instead of renting. Yes normal people, my Aunt & my Grandma Both have bought their flats.
Cuz in the future, rent will only go only 1 way & that's up.
My Grandparents have 2 small Flats, they are an investment for retirement. The "bigger" one they rent out, & once the move to the retirement home the will sell the smaller one. That's a common thing to do in Poland "buy" a flat in ur mid 20' & if ur done paying for it maybe get another one to secure ur retirement.

    • @AlmostDon
      @AlmostDon  Před 2 lety +10

Musiałabym dużo pomyśleć nad tą kwestią, zazwyczaj nie kieruję się stereotypami, ale są pewne założenia, które miałem, a które mnie zaskoczyły.

I know I know. You said it! But you should not compare public transportation of capital with town being close to medium city. Living in Warsaw is not much different from living in Wrocław, Krakow, TriCity, Poznan, etc. (sorry I missed Lódż and others). But but when you live in God forsaken 10k residents forgotten town in the middle of nowwhere the reality is pretty much different. Yes, you probably have there pretty fast internet connnection, cheap mobiles, a lot of woods but, but! But there is also lack of reliable public transportation and the lack of well paid jobs. Poles do love Spain for hot summer indeed! Cherio!
