If you consider that Dlss is constantly being optimized, we have a great future ahead of us
While DLSS is constantly being optimized, games are not.
Devs are using DLSS as a "crutch" for their games.
@@verminando8747 Maybe i'm been dumb, i really don't know much about how DLSS actually improves but: if DLSS uses machine learning to be better, doesn't that mean that by using DLSS yourself, it will gradually getting better in the game even if the devs don't mess with it?
again, just a legit question.
@@evandroescutatrap131 I don’t think that DLSS uses Reinforcement Learning. That means the AI model is already fix and trained and will not improve over the time. Regardless how much hours you play.
@@carveratutube yeah the original comment of this is ignorant we have an incredibly poor future ahead of us triple a game devs realized that they can cut corners on optimization and use DLSS as a crutch also when 40 series eventually becomes obsolete dlss 3.0 won’t help any only dlss 2.0 can save it because low frame rates dlss 3.0 has a heart attack and makes it worse than native not to mention the frames are always unresponsive because they’re completely fake frames and becomes only somewhat noticeable at 75-100+ native fps but at that point why even use it if you’re getting 75-100fps at 4k funny how 3.0 is worse than 2.0 but is a higher number sure it’s fine for some single player games but it’s completely useless in multiplayer games and some single player games.
If you consider that they lock a new one with every generation, we do not have a great future ahead of us.
I have a 4070 ti with a LG C2 42 inches... The framerate at 4K wasn't that good with all details at maximum settings in the games... DLSS 3 was a true gamechanger... From poor fps to a lot fps... Best technology ever
@@masterdna117 i tried it with and without reflex, trust me i can barely notice anything in term of latency, the game is way smoother due to have more fps

@@elitear618 actually in CB it's better than native
@ee tt why are you bitter?? get your money up!
Am I the only one not happy with this? Imagine next gen games would be like. Devs be like throwing unoptimized 10 fps garbage game and just rely to dlss. smh.
@John Wick literally and figuratively lol
you are right, and in fact it is already happening
But it also opens up some really fucking great paths for game development. You can really push game quality on consoles that normally wouldn't be able to run games well without graphical reductions, and push the fidelity of exclusive titles, especially late gen and cross-gen games. Also defeats some amount of obsolescence with PC specs radically, when games are constantly targeting higher specs, which is inconvenient considering the exorbitant price of PC upgrades. I am already appreciating this with my aging graphics card. I can imagine the impact of this with VR aswell, because VR games usually have to tone down fidelity due to the difficulty of rendering 2 different images at once. This will be a game changer with portable consoles aswell. I think this is fucking huge.
@@double-cheesemcqueeze6315 it looks ugly af. I didn't buy a 4k monitor only to run DLSS and run at anything but native.
@@OfficialRapMV DLSS 3 looks almost identical to native
What I like is the reduced power consumption using DLSS.
I am a bit confused seeing the framerate of the 4K native on the 4090. I thought the 4090 could do much better than that.
if you max out cyberpunk with rtx, u get that.
Cyberpunk is so shitty optimized that you barely get 40 frames on the most powerful graphics card available... The developers just don't care anymore.
@@sebastiantv108 Actually CP 2077 runs well in native 4k even on 3080 without RT. It's ray tracing that takes heavy toll.
CP is demanding
Nvidia sells you on a hope and a dream several years before they actually get there. You pay for their future endeavors.
Regardless what people might say or think of DLSS "I personally feel" that using it in games to gain FPS is amazing considering the quality you're able to still maintain. In the end the quality doesn't matter too much generally speaking because hardly anyone stops to smell the roses in game. Meaning, unless you stop and look around to scrutinize the graphics while madly running around trying to finish the game, YOUR NOT GOING TO REALLY NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE.
Yaa, but it’s proven DLSS 3 creates more input and artifacts.
@@bretttanton328 youve never used dlss 3 huh? Its really damn good

Yeahhh🗿🍷
It does have some drawbacks in regards to input lag being dependent on base fps (without dlss on) and some garbled frames being rendered occasionally, but I'm perfectly fine with that drawback for the INSANE boost in performance, both in fps and power/vram usage. If I were playing a competitive shooter, I'd probably simply switch to 1080p and blow frames out my a$$ with such a beefy card, dlss not necessary.
It has blurry and undefined edges on the DLSS 3 side. This can also lead to artifacting, such as ghosting when in motion. DLSS 2 also suffers from a milder form but manages to hide it much more cleanly. DLSS 3 causes ghosting in this case
When you get 300% the performance I think its a worthy sacrifice
Honestly, I couldn't even see what you are describing.

Haha! Nice dream

The idiot nvidia simps in the replies is amazing to me because FSR 3.0 is likely to be superior since it’s an upscaler dlss 3.0 is a fake frame generator which are unresponsive and useless and hinders you in most situations (not to mention fsr 3.0 would likely be on both amd and nvidia cards unlike dlss) they should’ve called 3.0 something different entirely since it’s nothing like 1.0 or 2.0 at all and before a dumbo nvidia simp calls me an amd simp no I used to use nvidia got tired of the idiotic community and I’ve swapped to intel arc since it’s incredibly promising.

DLSS3 is the Bomb. Wish it worked for RTX 2070 Super.. Love to get another couple of years out of it..
You’d think that yeah but 3.0 generates fake frames which are completely unresponsive and effectively worthless 2.0 would give far more life than 3.0 if 3.0 was an option maybe but if nvidia decided to continue with improving upscaling tech then yeah it’d give some more years to it but they didn’t it’s a massive shame.

dlss 3 i way too soft on the lighting
new tech is getting worst in raw/native render..
is render manipulation algorithm only the solution here in the new era of GPU ?
DLSS3 is not correctly used here as you can turn Frame generation ON without DLSS2. So you should have 4 options here : 4K, DLSS, FrameGeneration, DLSS + FrameGeneration.
According to my experience, frame generation pretty much doubles the FPS when used without DLSS and assuming the FPS isn't reaching the monitor's refresh rate (otherwise Reflex will automatically cap the FPS to a little bit below the refresh rate). So the performance with just FG will be better than with just DLSS but worse than with DLSS+FG.
Just frame generation with native resolution is the way to go. This might finally push me to play cyberpunk. Absolutely hate dlss. Always is blatantly worse than native resolution imo.
@@MrDutch1e it depends on whag res you are. On 2k, dlss will render @1080p and is not good. In the other hand, in 4k dlss quality (which renders at 2k)is really really good. I hate it in 2k but love it in 4k.
@Isael Delgado that's fair. I've yet to hook up my PC to my 4k OLED and try it out. At 1440p is absolute trash tho.
Even 4k dlss quality isnt that great in this unfortunately n i have the dlss 2.5.1 file on it. U can still see shimmering
A couple key notes about DLSS 3
1. Its more akin to "frame hallucination" rather than fps booster. Your response time depends on the base fps rate, so if your original fps was low the game will feel sluggish (This is really bad for comp games where latency matters)
2. Currently there are many garbled frames generated and these are very noticeable and immersion breaking. Hopefully with time (and possibly Gsync) this issue will be minimized.
3. "DLSS 3" is honestly not a good name as it is different to DLSS 2. DLSS 2 upscales a low res image and outputs a higher res one. "DLSS 3" generates entire new frames.
TLDR DLSS 3 is currently only good for when the base fps (Native Resolution/ DLSS turned off) is already high (90+fps is where DLSS 3 can really shine).
DLSS 3 can be useful for singleplayer games where visuals matter more than framerate(but still more than 40 fps tho after which input lag feels very noticeable)
90fps in current games can be hard to reach, if you dont own a 4090, but all the 40xx, can do dlss 3. taking what you said at face value, means that dlss is almost worthless on cards like xx60/ti and xx70, like beeing able to use raytracing on cards, that have the hardware to do it, but then render only 20 fps?
@dharkbizkit Yeah pretty much. DLSS 3 is a solution for those that already have fps to spare.
not a bad result
Quite amazing how similar they look, especially when you game and pay even less attention to details. Dlss 3 will be a game changer on laptops
native will always sharper and clearer, but yeah for normal gameplay unnoticeable esp if youre more focused in gaming
in general smooth gameplay (fps=refresh rate) is more enjoyable than forced max graphics
If you're at 4K, DLSS Quality almost always looks as good or even better than native. One of the few exceptions is RDR2 where DLSS screws up the hair. The only thing I prefer to DLSS Quality is DLAA and especially DLDSR which looks mindblowingly sharp but the loss in performance is significant.
@@iikatinggangsengii2471 "native will always be sharper and clearer" except it's not, it's not sharper, it's not clearer. This was only true for older DLSS versions, mostly pre 2.0.

40 series really rely on dlss 3.0 tbf, so if 30 series gpu got dlss 3.0 what would actual diff be between say 3070ti and 4070ti or the 3090 and 4090??
even without DLSS 4090 still very fast compared to 3090. same with 3070Ti vs 4070Ti. other than that power efficiency.
4090 is between 50-70% faster than 3090 in pure rasterized workloads, up to 100% faster with RT turned on. That is without DLSS. If you add DLSS 3 its often 200% faster or more.
Series 3000?
I have to say DLSS 3 is the best thing we got with DLSS 2. In Spiderman Miles Moralis you wont even notice its running, but in the Witcher 3 you can notice it. This Feature just needs to be optimized and then you have the best experience.

It is hard to get the same performance increase with overclocking your GPU.
if it's great how it uses artificial intelligence, it's amazing how it improves performance.
Overclocking adds 1-3% performance boost in the most ultra possible overclock
DLSS 3 straight up gives 100%+ performance boost

If it can do 4K120, any new title game in the future will have no frame rate problems at 1080p.

notice the CPU usage temps and wattage, it seems to have an inverse effect. although there is more stress in the benchmark for DLSS 2. Not dissing the tech choom, just seeing a correlation.
You're effectively lowering the internal resolution with DLSS2 which puts some of the stress away from the gpu to the cpu as it has to keep up with the higher framerate the gpu is putting out.
Интересно почему TDP такой разный. И в нативе упирается в энергопотребление и сбрасывает частоты.

DLSS still has major problems ... Of course the main image and FPS gain is what we all ask for but the problem of AI generated imagery is that it's never 100% accurate because even the most trained AI never reaches a 0% loss or cost. There are plenty of games where both DLSS and DLAA can degrade the image and sharpness.
For example, in Dying Light 2, the image is worse and when moving, the image is blurred when you look at vegetation, a tree, for example.
The same is the case with Warzone 2.0, God of War, Doom Eternal.
i disagree, DLSS seems to enhance the image for me at 4K with God of War, CoD MWII, Dying Light 2, Dead Space Remake, A Plague Tale Requiem, it makes the image EVEN MORE SHARP

The problem with DLSS3 is not the quality of the picture, but the inconsistent frame times when moving which depending on game implementation could be terrible .
On this one , the implementation is SUPERB. After playing 5 great dlss3 implementations now.
Plague tale , darktide , cyberpunk ms flight sim and dying light .
I’ve reached the conclusion that there’s only one situation where you can not like it.
At that situation is having bought an AMD card and realizing you can call it fake frames all night long , they are still getting double your fps and it feels like double the fps.
Yes it might not be exactly suitable for e-sports . But E-sports run smooth on a toaster , so there’s no need for it either.
But in the games where it IS needed.
It is superb , anyone hating it has either not tried it , or is on a state of denial , because of either a struggle accepting technologies change , and software can make “pure rasterization” an obsolete measurement.
Or resentment for having gone team red , thinking it had better price-perf , and now realizing DlSS 3 was NO JOKE.
Even in the Witcher 3 next gen , where it doesn’t works “flawlessly”
It’s a game saver , I wouldn’t even play the game with out dlss3
It’s unplayable at the moment. 45-50 fps in cities and towns with a 4090 and a 5800X3D
Turn DlSS on , bam 105fps
Wich actually feel like around 85fps
But still much muuuch better than the 45 with stutters all over the place.
The game literally goes from broken to playable .
@Lawyer Lawyer everyone can say dlss 3 isn't flawless in witcher 3 but it's literally the only way to get a smooth experience and use ray tracing. Regular dlss implementation in witcher 3 is complete garbage imo. Everything has a blur filter basically except the main character and there's constant frametime spikes. Dlss 3 gives me over 100fps at 1440p and butter smooth and no blur because it's native resolution.
It actually feels pretty smooth in gameplay.
@@MrDutch1e that’s what I said .
I said it is the only way to experience it.
I said it isn’t flawless, because unlike cyberpunk , DlSS 3 does add quite a bit of input lag .
Wich doesn’t matters , because with out it , The game is so unplayable, that it feels much smoother.
But it’s not as flawless at this cyberpunk implementation where reflex works amazingly
@Lawyer Lawyer that's fair but I'd rather play witcher 3 at 100+ fps with completely maxed out RT with dlss 3 than any other way. Only people that will argue that don't own 4000 series GPUs and want to bitch lol.
frame times look all over the place with dlss3
Locking FPS to 120 would make it stable.
I think you are looking at the wrong graph. The frame time graph is the bottom line, and that is pretty smooth. The frame rate graph is up and down, not the frame time consistency graph
@@aboutthat413 frame time is the multiplicative inverse of frames per second. if one is all over the place so is the other.
@@P1X3L5L4Y3R probably agree with u here
@@baumstamp5989 True, but the frame time graph here is extremely consistent. The frame rate graph is showing those variations probably mostly due to how high the frame rate is, and it goes down from 140fps to 120fps. When it comes to frame times, that is only a 1ms difference, from 7ms per frame to 8ms per frame
The difference between Native and DLSS in graphic quality is almost noting and yes the raw horsepower of the 4090 helps get 40fps native rendering however other RTX cards get less than that but can still post similar DLSS frame rates as the 4090 while still looking amazing that is what makes worth having
The future is bright for RTX users. Didn't regret getting an RTX card.
right
You mean RTX 40 series users cuz Nvidia decide to lock this technology for the new line of GPUs
It’s not that bright at all in reality considering dlss 3.0 is worse than 2.0 in reality maybe if 4.0 goes back to upscaling but for now it’s not bright.
@@adamcorv He meant "Future", if nvidia could improve the dlss3, it would become the bright future, I think they can.
@@lethanhtung4972 I don’t think they can improve most of the failures points of 3.0 since in order to fix it the concept would have to be thrown out
The native 4k footage, when the fps counter shows around 30 fps , it looks way too smooth, like 60 fps. I know what 30 ish fps looks like, maybe its just me seeing that way.
Just saying...
My 4090 is on its way.
Do you think there is much difference in image quality?
dlss 2 should be enough but if u like going overkill then go ahead and get the 40 series
I don't think this is the future, we're seeing rn more and more poorly optimized games in pc, but with Dlss/fsr you play the game the way it should be.
And no, there's people wasting 1000$+ only for high range gpus. And it should run it at NATIVE, and this is why nvidia/amd are laughing at us and at the same time selling overpriced gpus. And wanna know the worst thing of this? We're still buying these gpus!!!
This is why intel entering gpu market with arc is gonna change some things with them competing in the mid range only market (most of amd and nvidias sales) and with the a770 almost undercutting the 3070 in 1440p ultra in games like dying light 2 for only 349 why pay for a 3070 dlss 2.0? Arc can use fsr 2.1 is like 2.0 but a bit worse but it’s viable
This argument makes no sense. Nvidia keeps making better and better gpus, but game devs keep making games more demanding. It will never stop, new games with maxed settings are designed to max out the best possible ahrdware, thats how it has always been. Devs dont just stop adding better graphics to let GPUs catch up.
@MrSevinkLP No, no and no. I didn't say anything about nvidia improvements between generations, is there, but not enough to justify these "mining" prices. Second, maxed settings are for the future, everyone knows that and you shouldn't go higher than ultra/very high because there's little to no difference when you're going higher (it's a shame tho because that was the opposite deal with maxed settings). You really need to see the difference between demanding games and poorly optimized games, because that's the deal with pc gaming since forever. And i can give you some examples from rockstar/ubisoft, look at gtaiv and then rdr2, check ac syndicate and then play ac origins/valhalla.
I fundamentally do not give my money for this until it changes
Wait what?
If max settings without upscaling (DLSS2) already use around 14GB VRAM, so I wonder how much VRAM this game will need at 4K native max settings with frame generation (DLSS3). Your video only shows both DLSS2 (upscaling) and DLSS3 (frame generation) enabled at the same time.
Cant wait for:
" 8K @ 240hz"
DLSS looks nearly identical to native. It’s honestly worth using for the fps gain.
It even looks better than native sometimes. If you use the quality preset which is worth it
Im that dude who is unable to see dlss artifacts so im a big fan of this technology.
Nice
Daam dlss 3 is 2x of dlss 2 will they release dlss 3 for 30 series??
And people say dlss 3 is fake frames is that true?
No only for 4000+
it's like a smarter version of motion interpolation onTVs
yes dlss3 is basically generating frames linus has a good video on it.
it is great but some times it does produce bad frames and breaks immersion
Any Temporal super resolution will breaks videotron display board ingame.
Example: Fortnite Mr.Beast event
@@sphatikmaharana3303 Im pretty sure 24fps breaks immersion too... DLSS 3 is the future.
i'm currently playing Cyberpunk with DLSS 3 on my RTX 4070 Ti and it looks bloody amazing, it can reach 4K 75 fps RT Max Settings
Do you recommend rtx 4070 ti msi trio ?
@@srt4874 yes
But the latency they said 🤣
Too bad only 0.3% of people can use it 😃
Because RTX 4000 series are super or very expensive. 😉

ppl will buy 4000 series in 2nd hand market when RTX 5000 launches.
Thats normal. Not everyone can afford 4000 series n that’s okay
What are the graphics setting? Everything at max?
Yeah totally even rt is in Psycho
advice to all gamers, don't be poor if u want to enjoy the next dlss update
dlss 3 это же обман потребителя, инпутлаг будет как при 40 фпс

…are you sure this is a 4090???? I get ~60fps in cyberpunk at 4K max settings with max ray tracing with DLSS 2 on an RTX3080, I have a really hard time believing a 4090 is only 10fps better lol
DLSS are just too good
Hey. Wheres amd?
Out.
Where, wdym?
'Out of the competition'
dude it was just me or DLSS 3 looks better in quality ?
im so tired of these people keep complain and tell these tech "Fake" frame.Like bro,how the fuck is it fake if it actually did what it intended to do which is give your more frame.Shit even if it fake it still make your game run better,40-60 fps increase is no joke and despite that 5-10ms latency incease from this it still way too good and not even noticeable,go buy a damn 4000 card and try it yourself before dissing something that you are not even own
3.0でFPSが倍近く上がっててやべえw何なんだこれはww
Not a single person in this comment section complaining about dlss 3 owns a 4000 series gpu or has tried dlss 3. That's absolutely facts.
Yes its brilliant
I have tried out the 4070 ti since it’s reasonably priced still overpriced but what 40 series isn’t (Making a build for a cousin and decided to try it out since it’s faster than my own build) and I just cannot see the appeal of 3.0 maybe it’s good on the 4080 or 4090 wouldn’t know for a fact but in the mainstream market where things are priced within reason it’s not good at all I preferred 2.0 compared to 3.0 probably different for you but it’s my opinion just like your comments here are nothing more than an opinion not fact.
@@adamcorv DLSS 2 can not help you with a CPU bottleneck. going from DLSS 2 off to ultra performance wont gain a single fps in witcher 3 because even native is fully cpu limited with a 4090. DLSS 3 on the other hand doesnt care and just doubles the fps.
2 very different technologies with a stupid name (DLSS 3 should just be called frame generation instead) that both have their place.
look at the framerate graph, I don't think it's good..
Biggest difference is between resolution of video and the resolution on which you are watching this video 🤣
Frametime around 8ms is superb! Thats fluid!
fluid ??? is full of stutter ...but it's coming from the game not the GPU stuff
DLSS is probably upscaling to checkerboarded 4k.
I think they should just set DLSS to one setting. DLSS quality, and that’s it. DLSS quality still provides a decent performance boost while retaining a lot of the image quality. It's not quite as sharp as native, but it still looks good. As for DLSS performance, and especially DLSS ultra performance, they are completely pointless. DLSS Ultra Performance looks shit. It’s not used in many games, though. If you are playing at 4K, for example, and you are using DLSS ultra performance, you are rendering the game at 720p and then upscaling to 4K, so that would have a massive reduction in image quality no matter what resolution you use. Which is why I think DLSS performance and ultra performance are pointless. They defeat the purpose of gaming at higher resolutions such as 1440p and 4K.
Search Techpowerup DLSS 2.5.1 review , and see for yourself how good Ultra performance looks now.
@@a-mir905 I don’t believe any of that bullshit. Ultra performance is literally upscaling from 720p and will massively reduce image quality no matter what. People are just way overhyping these upscaling techniques and finding excuses to back up Nvidia’s overrated upscaling technique. DLSS 3 is fake frames. If I pay $1600 for a 4090, I expect real performance from it. Not fake frames. DLSS quality is the only preset that looks good and the only useful one. The rest are pointless and are marketing scams.
ultra settings+ ultra rtx + dlss quality is the way meant to be played
@@Gamer-q7v No shit it's gonna be less quality than native 4k. The point of dlss isn't to increase quality, it's to preserve most of the quality for better performance.
@@a-mir905 You are better off lowering some of the game settings or using a lower resolution at that point. Like I said, DLSS quality is the only preset that preserves a decent amount of quality. Performance and ultra performance don't, and that’s why they defeat the purpose of resolutions like 1440p and 4K. They are marketing scams.
It's just a shame that DLSS is entirely just a software thing locked to the 40 series card. I know that the 30 series GPU's are more than capable of handling it but Nvidia just wants my money
