I love that calling out sheisters and scammers is touted as "negativity" lol...
We need to start referring it as "positivity"
He deleted everything because he knew people were about to start digging stuff up, and find 1,000 other instances where he shilled. He panicked and burned it all down.
Probably
The hobby is pretty sleazy at this point, all these influencers and hobbyists get creepier as the card prices keep dropping.
Looks like they are panicking.
I personally think that is a BIG reason why the card market is dropping. Most people don't like that stuff. They are only really catering to the most vocal, younger crowd. Maybe 10-20% of the entire market is being catered to while the rest of us just roll our eyes.
When the economy drops it's natural that the card market will drop. Ppl are too concerned bout filling up their gas tank and putting food on the table than dropping $200 on a trading card. Maybe they should remember that when they go out to vote.
The Hobby has been sleazy for the 40+ years since I have been involved
He was 100% shill bidding. Another hobby positivity gate keeper caught being fraudulent in a hobby that they don’t want accountability in. Shocking.
Only negatively in the hobby comes from these douchebags in the first place. They make me think about the axe convincing the trees he is one of them because his handle is made of wood saying
if he scams the hobby, imagine what he does to his patients that see him. What a scumbag
who ever is editing these videos needs a raise. First class production.
Nice touch with the therapist sofa in the background lol😂
The hobby world has had scammers and con artists in it forever. I sold on Ebay for 20 years, had over 20k transactions with 2 negatives, but got sick of all the bullshit and assholes,so got out of it because of assholes like this guy points out.
Yea that's too bad
The influencers speculate as much as possible to run up the value of specific cards. This is also happening in Toys and comic markets as well.
He should seek therapy for bidding that much on any Eli Manning.
Ha
The advent of "The Influencer" is one of the dumbest things ever to hit pop culture. It's not limited to baseball cards. Buy what you like and to hell with what others think. They know no more than you.
Picked up an Ichiro on card Topps auto recently. As you said - picking up only stuff I like or is unique, as well as HOFer autos from other sports that I've always wanted but kept putting off. Having continually put off adding a Kobe autograph to my collection over the years, thinking he'd be signing for the next decade +, was the motivation to start making those moves sooner than later - especially now that prices are back down near or, in some instances, even below that late 2018/early 2019 range.
Ichiro the Goat his calbee cards are cool too
Rob the Mafia boss therapist, ALSO scammed someone out of two Michael Jordan/Lebron cards(can’t remember) they were duplicate cards. He ALSO got the money from the USPS insurance which is American’s tax dollars going to a fraud.
I know your telling the truth, I've bidded on certain football & baseball cards & I lost the bids. I truly think those bids are beefed up to what the sellers want for the cards!!! Nice video chief!!!
My buddy is getting out of the hobby so I bought his 1949 Jackie Robinson, 1949 Duke Snider, and a 1938 Goudey Bob Feller from him. Ive picked up some HOF PSA/DNA slabbed autos where I can find em cheap. And been hunting down milestone ticketstubs. Its a grind, but its a rush to find an overlooked milestone (Robin Younts 1000th hit for example) for $10 all in. Bought a Willie O'Ree (First black hockey player) auto for $20 this morning. I'll take those all day at that price. Cheers!
Man, what great pickups. Congrats
That's great. Great attitude and thanks for sharing your buys.
When money is involved trust no one. Given the chance 99% of people will take advantage of power and resources. It's just how we are. Always been this way always will.
Bingo!!
Love the content. I was scrolling Whatnot during their card show and came across Geoff Wilson. Jumped on and it was so boring. I decided to make a comment in chat. "Can you please pick up the atmosphere in the room, or atleast do something stupid for Sports Card Radio content?" Banned with in seconds. 😂
Jackoff Wilson and his minions do not allow any criticism, just like the not-so-great curator.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Geoff is impordant to the hobby
@MrJSpicoli I suppose if you do the exact opposite if him sure. Then I can see it.
@@MrJSpicoli Not as "important" as learning how to spell.
Why are people paying thousands of dollars for breaks? That is just absurd, with that money you can buy a quality card or even a box for yourself to open. And then we wonder why prices are so inflated. Influencers just trying to get clicks and views, they don’t care for the average person.
When I first learned about what a break was it was clear to me the people running them are just free rolling their collections on the backs of guys gambling a few bucks trying to get a big hit and I had zero desire to ever buy into one
This is the best sports card channel period.
I’m building out my 1993-94 Topps Finest Basketball Refractor Set. I’m about 25 cards in, buying and paying on time 😂
Hope to talk to you guys tomorrow. Goldin Auctions signed for, then stole my redemption card for a 2022 Topps UK Trout auto Platinum Parallel 1/1 card. They signed for it almost 3 weeks ago.
Not in their system nor can they locate it. No joke
Look ma, no replies.
Look how their ONLY offense is through illegal means. Yeah, you'll do well vs me. Better grasp for EVERY straw you can.
This human will be successful NO MATTER what you evil scum have to say about it. You losers had 4 years to act. And you passed. Now it's MY TURN!! And I have all the proofs needed to win every fuckin time!? Losers stay being losers. Never forget that. Losers
SCR, thank you for being the last and only honest Sports Card Talk out there 🤙🏽
SCV is good too if you’re looking for another
@@dylanhetzel9432 Appreciate that knowledge 🤙🏽
I’m really glad that when I got into collecting a year ago I found Sports Card Radio before the positivity influencers. Can’t imagine how screwed I’d be if I was a Geoff Wilson shill.
I picked up one of the misprint garbage pail kids chrome cards that has the basketball card printed on the back. Super happy to add it to the collection
I've bought a few $4 cards. Thats because i have a three figure bank account with .25acres in a subdivision.
barry sanders and michael jordan only cards i've been buying so under valued.
So much money has been lost in this hobby its crazy I didn't buy doing covid I sold cause I know it wasn't going to last. One can always buy back in.
Wherever there is big money involved, you are going to have those who want to cheat, lie, deceive etc. to line their greedy pockets.
The taller the building, the larger the shadow
I miss the Great Curator. Colin dunking on him on AIH stream was the funniest hobby moment.
The not-so-great curator is just a sad, insecure little man, whose thin skin and ego will be his downfall.
I bought a Carnage Spider-Man metal Carnage Orange /25 card from Probstein and the card arrived with severe damage in the bottom right corner which was not in the pics. I returned it and they immediately re-listed it with the same image not showing the damage. Also, when there's damage on the corners or back of cards they don't scan that area or trim out the edges from the pics in the listings
It's the other way around.. these 'hobby positivity' influencers are the wolf in sheep's clothing, while the influencers who occassionally swear and heckle other people, are the actual good guys.
Thanks again, for your message. Get rid of breakers.😊
As prices drop, their will be more problems.
love your pickups. question, do you have them sent home and then resell somewhere else? or do you relist back on Goldin. Thanks, and love the positivity!
So many of these influencers are so fake for the camera. I think a lot of adults can read people and see the whole persona is forced aka mojo…but these children can’t and that’s the issue. Hobby has a lot of kids that are getting pretty much taken advantage by whatnot and these dumb breaks.
Lately, I haven't picked up anything, but I definitely try to go for something unique. The most recent stuff has been autographed Funko Pop figures. I think the most recent sports related item was a Harmon Killebrew cut auto from a Leaf product.
Love the vibes in this video! Thanks for the content/drama 😊
Crazy how many people doing videos are dropping like flys!!!
BUHHH BYEEEE
I am coining the phrase "Sports Card Houdinis" (and Sports Card Copperfields) for influencers that screw up and make themselves disappear. Big Ken, from Sports Cards Lessons, put out a video yesterday that said he hadn't spoke to the therapist but he didn't condone his actions.
It ain't over till @BobBoozle's wife sings!!!!!!
@@Dedicated_Degen She sings, "Junior double triple whooper; flame-grilled taste with perfect toppers; I rule this day; At BK, have it your waaaaaay."
@@BobBoozle I've seent the light.....just catching a tan my man!
I bought OPC Hockey 2021-22 Blaster Boxes for $ 9 each and 36 pack Retail Boxes of the OPC Hockey 2021-22 for $ 36. Also Upper Deck 2022-23 Hockey Tin Series 1 for $ 26 and Series 2 for $ 29
I'm at the 2:30 mark. Isn't it the Customers job to research the best price? If someone comes up to you at a show and wants to pay you 3x on a card...Is that your fault? Again, i'm only 2:30 into the video, but I gotta ask that question. For example, I can go to Saks and buy a "X" brand of Polo and pay upwards of $100, but I might be able to get a similar Polo at Costco for under $50. Same manufacturer and all. Not sure if my example is a good example, but it is a real life scenario.
That's why I always use the 'buy it now' option. You either want this or that or you don't. Plain and simple.
Ebay needs to remove the 30% price gap it requires between the starting bid and BIN. I've only sold cars through auctions because I refuse to underprice my cards so the starting bid is my ask price making the buy it now price too high
He already owns the cards that he was bidding on. He’s trying to drive up the resale value.
Layton blocked the break comp folks. Probstein Jordan rookies were getting 2500 more on eBay than any other seller. With bidders having 85%+ of their bids being with Probstein and don't want to hear it's due to their amount of listings.
It’s the consignors though Rick isn’t sitting there shill bidding. Is he responsible for allowing that? Probably but he isn’t the one doing the shilling.
@@glyn420 delegating the task doesn't alleviate someone from the repercussions
@glyn420 As a seller with their reputation, should have people watching for shill bidding on every item. It's not hard to do and would give no credence to comments like mine being made. They allow it and it's that simple
Invest heavy in 1988 topps and 1990 donruss baseball!! It's a cant miss!!
I bought a couple new garage door springs. Not sure what the reclaim value is on the metal but still a better investment than Desmond Ridder.
Whete do you find the FLEER audio insert video i need yo to see the original full version
If you are a collector on a budget, just buy what you like and makes you happy. It really is as simple as that. I have a collection of about 15,000 cards. I enjoy owning every one of them. I have never sold a card, and i just recently began trading cards. I only trade duplicate cards that i have. I absolutely love my personal collection.
Liam Foudy PMG Red PSA 6 for $5 all in was nice little pickup dor furture flip. Favorite purchase recently is Gabe Davis Immaculate RC RPA for under $50 4 PC....last year this time couldnt add to the PC for less than $150 on poor timing auction. So its nice to grab some pc stuff but makes me really want to avoid looking at any prices for remainder of my GD PC since it'll all be down 40-75%! Soccer has been my best seller with Leaf Continuum autos topping the list with skill position NFL players being next best seller; TyreeknHill, Amon-Ra St.Brown, Nico Collins... Mostly sticking to baseball for pickups next month so keepin eye out for bargain basement deals on Shohei, Gunnar, Jordan Walker, Corbin Carroll, & Druw Jones preparing for spring training.
GREAT CURATOR 😂😂😂
Love the video and the hobby. You have to buy what you like and not get caught up in the hype
Many of ebay sellers are also shilling there auction as you can see the auction was way too high before the auction ends🤣
Gate keeper's more like they have their life invested in card's and a desperate not to loose customer's due to negativity.
Great summary as always.
I hope the Rahul sound bite becomes a regular occurrence 😅
Haha
Ted Williams autograph will be worthless once they clone him from his frozen head, his autos will flood the market then. Bad buy!
Great content, I think the bigger influencers just need to pump because of the money they make from the content and paid endorsements from card companies. I have scaled back my purchases this month to a Ohtani Pokémon PSA card and a 1964 Glenn Strange Frankenstein candy bucket. Weird but that’s what I like other then the HOF auto cards I usually buy.
Babe wake up new sports card radio vid just dropped!
Buying Maddux stuff I don’t have. Older relics, refractors etc.
Recently bought a PSA 9 base Manu Ginobili Spanish RC, a raw manu English RC, an Eli Manning bazooka rookie patch card, and some Castellanos first Bowman purple paper parallel and his Bowman Platinum purple parallel of the same yr. Still trying to get an ichiro chrome rookie...
So your saying any person could bid on an ebay auction, win it, and then decide to not pay the purchase price, and the only penalty is maybe some negative feedback, because ebay won’t ban you from the site….no fine, no mandatory sit out period, no jail time, no court appearance…..I didn’t know winning a bid was optional for the buyer
Lol remember seeing those dudes from backyard breaks cracking cards out, soaking them and resubmitting
Thank you for continuing to bring hobby hanky panky to the surface. From my experience anyone finding themselves in your crosshairs is there for a reason, whether it be a scammer or someone burying their heads in the sand to all the hanky panky going on all around them.
Deleting everything pretty much shows guilt. Weed out the scumbags
I absolutely love you guys Great straight to the point no BS
LOL it's all BS here...look at the content and look at how he click baits you guys on trash titles lol
"Anyone who understands business" just had red flags pop off reading Geoff's comment @ 3:26 ... when your entire business model revolves around auctions, trying to wave away shill bidding as "an extra few bucks here & there" is like a crypto-bro claiming a rug pull makes no sense because their crap-coin's value would go to zero.
That’s Not Content!
DRAMA!!!! LOLZ
I don't buy from ANY LARGE AUCTION HOUSE ON EBAY. Always higher prices.
This stuff just gets better and better. We want the truth!! Can’t get scammed buying direct from Topps
Scored some great cards recently! 2010 Topps 206 1/1 Carolina Brights Time Lincecum was my favorite.
As always another great video. Thanks sports card radio.
These guys who are saying things like that, that nobody would risk a 100 million dollar business over a few bucks, knows nothing at all about human nature.
"Guys like Geoff Slupring the Nut Sack......" Bwahahahahahahahahaha...
I missed my calling as a sports card therapist
Have been loving breakcomps. Most breaks I've been in top 10 for the breaks I've done that match what they're comping
Appreciate you following our content!
Sad to see something from our youth that we brought forward turned into such a sleazy swamp. Prices tell the tale and people are tired of it. Won't be too long and the true hobbiests will be all that's left and prices will be almost affordable again
I think AIH showed he owns a bunch of rare Eli cards and was essentially trying to pump up Eli's value in general? I'm not gonna go back and rewatch because I'm lazy but pretty sure that's why he DELETED EVERYTHING like that one meme
Oh and one last thing:
FLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!
AIH ( RAHUL) involved in pumping and dumping?
@@onetime3137 No the Sports Card Therapist was trying to pump Eli Manning, which is why he bid up the gold Manning cards but didn’t pay. AIH made a video about it where I think he showed Therapist’s IG before he deleted it, and he had a bunch of rare Manning cards
That’s not content, that’s drama .
Sportscards Radio, I do not even listen to those influencers because they are not smart people at all. At the end of day you have to make your own decisions in life because in the end no one is looking at for you at all.
Great life advice as well.
Smartest comment of the day
Betsy says she's ride or die!!!!
I'm having an issue with probstein now. I purchased an item a week ago and haven't received any shipping info yet. I've sent 2 messages and heard nothing back. I bought it off a live auction. Dude was holding the product when I bought it!
Keep us updated
Never had any issues with prostein
This was another great video💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿 I just got a psa 9 Eli Manning downtown and a psa 9 Eli Manning downtown optic and a raw Michael strahan kaboom
SCR is needed to keep these influencers in line. Until Geoff and some of the rest COME CLEAN with where their cash is coming from, they will always be looked at as shady
Geoff and the other fuckbois will never come clean!!! Its how the rob the collectors!!!
The influencers are in it for business. If they were doing content and sales that were bad for the hobby and made 2x, they would.
STRAIGHT FIRE LIKE ALWAYS!!!
Love the card collector clips of him slapping himself🤣🤣 funny funny
My biggest purchase for one card was today actually! A 2022 Contenders Breece Hall Auto for $40 (shipped) one of my favorite players
DIP
Those are really cool things you bought at cheap prices. I like it.
Ebay on its completed listing does not show if the transaction was completed fully just that it was sold at a specific price. These dealers over bid on items to increase card average values. That is why when you go to items completed you can see tremendous price differences for the same item. Then one of the dealers has an app that shows the prices that the cards are selling base on Ebay completed listings. Its Crazy market manipulation.
Chasing scammers
I'm sure this is already stated in the comments, but regarding the nine minute video, he actually blamed his non-pay on him suspecting shilling, when in fact, it seems highly likely he was doing the shilling. Clearly he can afford the cards.
Yea he won the auction for a lot more than what he was hoping for and stiffed the seller. Scummy move
How are those Will Grier cards after his release from the Patriots? LOL.
You should investigate the new Ebay Case Breaks setup - Run by a couple of breakers where approved breakers have to register each break and send in free product to Ebay Case Breaks for a contest that has zero transparency. Breakers have to send in a free equal value pack of cards for every two boxes of product in the break. Say you post a 2 box break of Limited football. You have to send a free Limited football pack into Ebay Case Breaks for the monthly contest. Who's running this contest? Where do you see the winners? How do you confirm the entrants list is not stacked with fake names? Sounds like extortion to me. Something smells fishy.
No way the Mbappe jacket and Messi shorts are legit for that price.
I recently picked up a Big Dinner Box with my pals who run a card shop after selling out of the hobby.
It was good, I will never sleep on Pizza Hut again.
Sports Card Therapist, rule one of being a therapist is doing no harm and you harmed the hobbie while broadcasting and judging others...SCR just exposes frauds with a tough love technique thats also funny AF but thats how you solve problems sometimes and if you need a example of a person with no morals which gets on SCR'S radar then look in the damn mirror sports card therapist and you'll see a person who ran away when confronted with their own behaviors your like a kid who runs away from home on report card day, lol, its not the end of the world but it needs to be confronted if theirs some bad grades from laziness, lol, and if you still think SCR are wrong they gave you a route to redemption in this video which was just to apologize which you won't or haven't, face the music or find another hobbie besides being a fraud like the others that are roasted frequently also the fact you disappeared usually means theirs more unethical stuff you wanna hide, lol
Just bought a Felippe Franks Prizm rookie card, graded a PSA 8. And, yes I did pay for it.
The problem with this hobby is that most joined in order to just make money, and during their journey , they realised that a cartel was forming, which included auction houses, authenticators, graders and influencers. Then celebrities joined. And all of them understood that they have 1-2 years to profit the most from this hobby. So shill bidding, up-grading cards, authentication and much more was so corrupt, because there was simply too much money to be made. The classic system of selling a Trout orange and red, and then selling the superfractor for obviously more... Or even pumping the MJ rookie 86' from 30k$ to 150k to 400k then to 750k... It just didn't make sense. But there was a timeframe of a year in order to make all that money from sucker bidders and buyers seeking to fomo into what they promoted. To keep a hobby healthy, all collector need to have the chance to somehow purchase a card or collect it or pull it. This is not the case .The same "elite" people that are complaining now about the state of the hobby are the ones that ruined it by abusing it to the maximum and making it corrupt. Now they are sitting with cards they paid 500k-600k$, and are worth 150k$. They preferred to make all the money in 1 year and ruin the hobby, rather than keeping it healthy on the long run for years or even decades. Along with that, Panini started printing too much , which ruined the hobby. Also the sports are underperforming and the lack of real players and prospects are making people buying anything with no-talent and just getting rekt. It's not even fun to watch basketball these days. So put all these 3 aspects together, and you get a perfect recipe for destruction. I would really be curious to see who would buy a LeBron rookie topps chrome when it hits 1000$. Same player, same card, same fundamentals. Well, I collector will be happy to buy it, but all the other flippers, investors will just leave the hobby you will see..
Man you nailed it!
baby boomers chasing the mantle's they put into their bike wheels to hear clicking when they rode started the entire hobby. the idea around the whole hobby was overlapping collections. everyone can get a 52 mantle. everyone can get a 55 williams. etc. then it branched out to rare cards that define collections. now it has produced so many rare cards and cards in general it has smothered the player collector. the foundation of the hobby. now it's a dopamine hit. these guys are not card dealers. they are dopamine dealers.
Probstein has been known to shill his own auctions for years, even got caught more than once I believe lol. Dude can't stop lying lol
"Sports Card Therapist" LOL!!!!
The shill bidders and scammers just need to stop. If everyone is doing a story on how bad the hobby is, and this crap continues, parents are going to stop letting their kids buy cards, and the parents will stop buying them, as well. As for what have I bought lately? I am like you, in that I'm only buying athletes I like, and since I sell on eBay, hopefully I'm picking up the vintage cards that people want, also. I'm picking up stars from the 50's and 60's in football, guys I've read about and have seen in the Hall of Fame (I live near it), and I'm going from there. Picked up a couple of nice 1956 Lenny Moore rookies, and a 58 Gino Marchetti, a 55 Alan Ameche, and then also I picked up some guys my dad has talked about from the 60's. I picked up a Jim Taylor rookie, a Sam Huff rookie (I remember the dented helmet of Taylor's in the Hall), and a guy I think was probably one of the best unsung QB heroes of his day, even though his career was mainly as a backup, I picked up an Earl Morrall rookie too. I already picked up a lot of the greats from my day, the 80's and 90's, and I wanted to get some cards of the heroes I only read about in school. Next up, I'm going to pick up all of the noteworthy 1950's Browns, and hopefully I'll pick up a few things to sell, also. Liked the video. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Bought a 1991 Topps Desert Shield Chipper Jones PSA 8 recently! Finally got one!
