Not so complicated...đ
Rim Brakes: "Just a matter of time, you disc brakes enthusiasts will become Prodigal Sons . . . and Daughters!"! "Waiting"
indeed, rim brake takes like 5 seconds to adjust, but the problem is that it has less braking power and it has no hydraulic system. I use rim brakes, and I don't have much problem with them tho
Never had a problem with rim brake power even going 40mph+ as long as you use quality pads and have decent well adjusted calipers(piece of piss) you're good to go.
But with rim brakes if its wet they dont work đ
@@fredclements5474 you NEVER said THAT for the past 150 years, did you! whose laughing now?
@@fredclements5474 Funny how that became a thing only when the industry wanted fat noobs to upgrade to heavier bikes.
"should be good to go"
Personally I love it .people know when Iâm near
Wd40 fixes everything
Yes, even a tedious life.
Thanks, the first solution fixed my annoying ticking sound after removing the front wheel to fit a mudguard.
I'm going out and ride my totally silent rim brake bike immediately. Hopefully, that will help me "unhear" that disc brake squeal. That torturous sound should be outlawed by the Geneva Convention.
Actually I rode this morning and my disc brake were rubbing and I adjusted my quick release and it fixed the rubbing đ sorry for my english tho
nice fix until you push the pistons back and it starts leaking oil.. some person on the www said you have to open iirc the bleedvalve before doing this. some calipers don't like it when pistons get pushed back without some relief
My dog finds your rubbing disk brake more annoying than I do, and that's saying something! She came out of the bedroom whining, very anxious, put her paw on me like âare you OK?â
I have Campy 12 disc brakes and they were very noisy when even slightly wet. I switched to swissstop pads. Problem solved and amazing stopping power with very nuanced application
Idk why but the bike rubbing noise was too funny đ€Ł
Glad you enjoyed it đ
@@gcntech haha sure did:)
Thanks so much for the tip, saves me a trip to the bike store and spending unnecessary money
Solution 1: Go back to Rim Brake
Solution 2 - 5: Read solution 1
1. Get a rim break.
2. See number 1.
Is it normal for this problem on a brand new bike from the LBS?
Yes nothing to worry about, my bike wasn't set correctly at the front derailleur and i made a few turns on the screw and everything was okay
9 times of 10! I work at decathlon bike workshop and 10 times out of 10 it doesn't solve the problem đ
Tried both these ...never stays fixed
Same haha
@@user-gi4uj2kg4vyour rotors probably bent
Alex: There is nothing more annoying than a rubbing disc brake rotor
Me: There is nothing more annoying than having to remind braking traitors to return to Rim Brakes!
Ikr, easier to center and the pads last longer
Nothing more annoying than having to remind people that discs get far more power in the wet.
@@theunitedempire6532 Nothing more annoying than having to remind people that it's not wet EVERYDAY!
@@theunitedempire6532 you do not eat molded bread to get penicillin
Try riding carbon rims brakes in the rain
I'm sorry, is this some kind of disc brake joke I'm too rim brake to understand?
I got an ex to prove you wrong on annoying for sure. A RotorâŠ.to funnyđ
Just ride a bike with proper brakes and you donât have to put up with this crap.
Get rim brakes and experience better performance
I used rim brakes for more than 10 years. Never want to touch that crap again
Rim brake fans - oh you'll be back only a matter of time but you'll be back
Another advertisement for rim brakes.
This is reminding me of everyone returning to BSA bottom brackets
Come on guys when things makes noise, just give it some oil!
Good job Darcy
Please don't use that tool, I'm surprised park tool even make it anymore. Just use a plastic tyre lever, your ceramic pistons will thank you.
The tool is actually not supposed to be used directly on the pistons but with the brake pads still in place. But you are right, if applied directly on the pistons it can seriously damage them.
Thank u did it on my handrail aint rubbing anymore
What to do if a pair of wheel radios is touching the brake system while spinning? The other radios are just fine, and the disc brake is aligned. Thanks.
Never ever ever ever use disk brakes. That Gets rid of all disk brake problems. Who need the extra weight and headaches. Never ever worth it. Ask Froomey
Alex if these two solutions do NOT work?
Switch to cantilevers lol
Then remove the pads and use the old trainer between the tire and the frame techniqueđ
Get your self a Rim brake bike....why even bother
Never ridden a MTB I see đ
@@MarioXcore1 I do have a MTB with disc and their great but you do not need a disc on a road bike, extra spokes for compliance the extra weight the rubbing the locking up brakes the bleeding of the brakes absolute nightmare. Why bother. Road bikes are simple machines with simple components...I supose they soon have double rotors with abs...watch this space LOL
Why front brake for right handle brake
Use rim brakes, much easier. đ
Put a baby in it!
Wow I didnât expect so many people to have strong opinions over a breaking system đ I prefer the mtb communityâŠ
Tried both before and it didnât work I had to spin my wheel and push the caliber back and forth a bit and retighten
Personally I love it .people know when Iâm near
What? No. Your first idea was quite good, your 2nd was garbage.
1 time out of 10 to he first method work, then the second method works , 3 times out of 10 ...oh the joys of disk brakes
Bike industry motivating people to augment their lifestyle to get rid of their car
Allan!
Sounds like the rotorâs bent to me. Why didnât he start there?
disk brake should be on cars not bikes
How do I fix disc brake rub for non-hydraulic brakes
You have 3 points of adjustment. Cable, opposing "piston" pad, caliper mounts
Your not kidding
Best solution to rubbing disks are rim brakes. When are gcn going to do a video on the watt cost of rubbing disks?
Club rides have become a symphony of honking disc's annoying AF.
If you're worried about that you should be adjusting and centering before every ride anyway
Its 180W, I tested it.
99% the pads are dirty.. just spray a bit of brake cleaner and everything is fixed
This comment is here to save the video lol
The fix is to adjust the brakes correctly⊠or just ride a bike with rim brakes like a normal person
I donât have any of these problems with rim brakes đđŽ
Step one: Get rim breaks
I'm never going back to rim brakes after experiencing the feel of disc brakes.
@@sepg5084 this. disc brakes also excel if you frequently ride in wet or muddy conditions.
Or, or! Use rim brakes!
Yeah, then go flying into a car while slamming the anchors in the wet.
â@@theunitedempire6532why though you get a shit tonne of power from well adjusted quality rim brakes.
Just spray WD-40 on the brakes, it fixes this with no effort and improves braking power.
Easiest fix: Rim
