But... I liked Revenge of the Sith.
That's ok, but it was not the best Star Wars movie
same It's my favourite star wars movie
+Imran1810 please be a troll i liked the film but it is not the best
I like all 6 films equally. *Grabs popcorn*
I agree, I'm a huge fan of RotS. it's definitely my favorite.
To be honest, people need to chill with the prequel acting hate. Nobody can make that dialogue sound natural
"If Master Obi-Wan caught me doing this he's be very grumpy"
Yep and don't forget "this is so wizard ani!" "Yipeee!"
They had usin the first half, not gonna lie
That’s exactly what the actors thought when they made a New Hope. Maybe they thought it would turn out alright
"I don't like sand..."
Fun Fact: The scene where Anakin murders the younglings wasn't scripted, but Hayden Christensen started killing children and the camera was recording the whole time
One of the rare, genius-level on-set improvisations.
That’s truly brilliant acting. For someone to play a character turning to the dark side, then they must truly embrace the dark side itself.
Nem tudom ki mit gondol de szerintem jó film volt

It's actually quite refreshing to see the huge amount of people here defending ROTS.
+lastdragon55 Not gonna lie, sometimes it just feels like denial. I mean i'm not someone who hates on the prequels, I can admit there are good moments. But as a whole, the movies are pretty bad.
+Hannibal Rasberry I have a genuine love for ROTS.
lastdragon55 You wouldn't be the first. I will admit the movie has some good moments. But that' really all I can give it. As a whole, the movie just isn't that good in my eyes. There are alot of things that are wrong with it. And since it's part of a trilogy, that only hurts it more because I can't just analyze ROTS by itself.
I don't know why rots is hated on so much, the best one out of the 3 prequels I actually really love rots
Jared Allen It is viewed as the best amongst the prequels. But the prequels as a whole really aren't that good. So the best in a series that wasn't that good. Still doesn't do much.
No matter how much shit the prequels get, Ewans Obi Wan was great, he nailed the character.
yea he did great job.
Yes, he did. Some performances were great. Mostly not, tho.
+Taimoor Shah Same with Palpatine
+Happyfunrun The actor that played Palpatine was the same as in the Original Trilogy
LegoArchitectureNerd Oh damn! Didn't know that O_O
If not for the prequels, we not have:
•Duel Of Fates
•Clone Wars Series
•Captain Rex
•Darth Maul
•Ahsoka Tano
And many more things
Most importantly the memes
Ahsoka is great. Worth it.
And most importantly: /r/prequelmemes

This movie was actually enjoyable and is my personal favourite
Mine too
Literally! I loved it!
Yep Copy tht.. fk the Haters..when GL made the First Saga he didn't have the Sequels Planned out so what if it doesnt line up to the decimal.. its close enough & enjoyable.. the lightsaber batles were the best of all Six so its even worth a rewatch every cppl years..haha
this is probably my favorite movie. it has so much hate but it’s so good
Totally agree
To be fair Hayden Christensen is pretty good whenever he's not talking, he's got the evil stare down!
very very true
+TheRealBeatMaster More people need to realize this, Hayden was actually really good at his physical acting it's just that his dialogue delivery was horrible
+sumbitch3rdgen Also, he didn't write the script... I mean if the dialogue is shit.. what is he supposed to do?
+TheRealBeatMaster One of the only movies i prefer to watch in german these days because the german dub for anakin is better than the original (voice) acting. It makes it soooo much easier to watch the movie
Under George Lucas' writing and directing, not even Johnny Depp could have made that dialogue work.
Staring out of the windows was actually one of the more emotional scenes, I thought...
And those deleted scenes actually would have given us the feeling that Obi-Wan and Anakin actually had a brotherly relationship. But that's just my humble opinion.
I agree
+The Martian That, along with the Opera scene, or the "bubble" scene as described in the video.
Joshman Pageguy Yep.
I agree.
To be fair, the scene when they are looking out at each other through the window is pretty powerful.

@@Run-Riot Lmao, exactly
Y’all ever been to Arizona? Everyone there over 35 looks 60.
Here is a fact:
Hayden & Ewan were two awesome actors lost in a doomed fight against a weeeird script.
Agreed
Ewan did pretty well TBF.
Honestly Ewan can't do much wrong
Hayden was a very bad choice to play Anakin, since the character wasn't supposed to be a weird version of Luke, he was supposed to be a powerful giant warrior (the name comes from the giants of the Bible) with tendency to violence and who got lost in his path and was seduce by the dark side due to either a bitter tragedy or a misunderstood belief in the end justifying the means. George forgot what Vader was all about in his prequels.
@@robertmarquez2767 George Lucas imagined it all, he knows how it should have been. You basically try to say that you know better than the original creator that gave this whole idea lol.
I don't understand how people could hate this film when it has so many CGI flips.

Don't lecture me, Obi-Wan! I see through the lies of the Jedi.
+Jackson Hood 2.0 I do not fear the dark side as you do...
I have brought peace, freedom, justice and security to my new empire.
Your new empire???
The scene where Padmé and Anakin stare out the windows is one of the most powerful moments in the film, in my opinion. Both are uncertain and fearful of what will happen to them and their relationship next. It's a very deep, emotional scene that required no dialog to be great.
+Jace Fincham I completely agree
+Jace Fincham Aye, I totally agree! And since most of the dialoges between Anakin and Padme were so poorly written (Like, nobody would talk like that. Nobody), I like it even more. It carries so much more feelings than their words ever had.
Not to mention the sun setting and the music, both beautiful and haunting.
I can't take the word 'haunting' seriously anymore since that ridiculous love scene in Episode II....
and the nooooo scene at the end was really good too
Plot twist: Revenge of the sith is actually the holy grail
Outside the last 4 episodes of clone wars, it’s my #1.
Matt Rasp if you think the last 4 episodes of the clone wars are better than any Star Wars movie then you are a little kid who’s probably only seen the originals once
Nicholas Burns they’re a little close for me but ROTS takes it
Joe Kerr I understand that but he was saying the last 4 episodes of the clone wars is the best Star Wars content we’ve ever gotten and that’s just dumb revenge of the Sith is amazing and I can see why people would put that number 1
Nicholas Burns ok
"Anakin is easy to manipulate." Why is it hard to believe that Palpatine is a genius and a master of deception? He was the one orchestrating a galaxy-spanning war, went from senator to supreme chancellor with little opposition and gained complete control of the government, and couldn't even be sensed by Yoda. You really think manipulating one person would be difficult for him?
Who says we're doubting his manipulation skills, we're just saying that anakin Skywalker could be convinced to commit genocide if you promised him dessert after he ate dinner, which he could
The thing is, Palpatine led the war from both aides for more than one movie. He only manipulated Anakin for one movie. I think that’s why it pales in comparison to his other genius feats. Nonetheless it’s still interesting and he was one of the best parts of the Prequel
Eternal Branches hmmm kinda but also- if you watch clone wars you can see him building a relationship with Annikan and growing trust between them- one quote from the movie is after he was sent to naboo palpatine says “so they’ve finally given you an assignment etc” it’s honestly the small stuff that got planted throughout the earlier movies that made it easier for palpatine to be able to seem like a trustworthy mentor and someone that was genuinely wanting to help him in rots- especially after the same thing happened with his mother I would be paranoid too if history was about to repeat itself and I was going to lose the love of my life.
Sir Troll true tho 😂
“Palpatine sends a man, who sends a man, who sends a shapeshifter, who sends a robot, that sends bugs, to go kill padme”
How stupid Anakin was and he didn't understood that Palpatine was a Sith lord at the opera scene?

+Vinny Banana Out of context, that scene looks cheesy and forced as all hell.
+Vinny Banana If you're a dumb baby child perhaps.
+Vinny Banana The Order 66 scene is rubbish and comes out of nowhere. The whole point is to make it sudden so the Jedi don't see it. Yep, the Jedi don't see it, the people that have reactions so quick it's like they can see parts of the future. There's no build up for the Order 66 part.
Fun fact: Hayden was instructed from the beginning to talk kind of monotone to sound more robotic like Darth Vader.

I never realized Palpatine being the sith lord was a twist.
It wasnt, it was very obvious youre just waiting for the jedi to find out
Really? I grew up with Clone Wars and it was obvious to the point where I thought you were supposed to know
It's literally the same actor from ROTJ... You were supposed to know who he was the moment you first saw him in TPM. This was not supposed to be a twist.
It was very obvious. In the original title crawl for A New Hope it says "Emperor Palpatine".
I think everyone knew that palpatine was the sith lord, the Jedi however did not so it's more so for dramatic irony
“Commits jedicide”
*drum sting*
Oh, and one more thing: You're complaining that Jar Jar is back... When he has NO dialogue and he's only there for 2 seconds while walking slowly forward with his head down. He was literally ONLY there because of the connection he had to Padme from the previous movies. Come on. Now you're just trying too hard.
Any amount of Jar Jar is too much Jar Jar
Evelina999 Not really. Actually, in my eyes, he's not that bad of a character. He does annoy me at times, yes, but he did get a few chuckles out of me.
And I'm gonna be honest, you can't complain about a character being in a movie when he's barely there and for an admittedly logical reason and he gets no dialogue whatsoever in a "blink-and-you-miss-it" cameo. Sorry, but no. This is an illogical complaint.
TallMist You actually laughed at that spawn of satan? Bruh...

@@jairusjackson4156 ok, I'll go back and re-watch it, I do remember some really bad lines, lol. Thanks for the tip.
I came here to say this. I stood in like for like 7 hours to see Attack of the Clones when I was in high school and I loved it! It wasn’t until I was in college and went to see Revenge of the Sith with some friends that I realized that people didn’t like the movies. I realize that they all have plenty of faults, but I genuinely enjoyed all of them. 🤷♀️
2:57 I loved that scene between padme and anakin.. Sometimes you don't need to use words to tell a story (something George doesnt tend to acknowledge) but this was a powerful moment
They had zero chemistry. I don't know how anyone could take that relationship seriously. It was so forced it hurt.
The music and CGI make that scene good.
@@pazuzu66613 Apparently few hundreds milion fans could. Also, just because it wasn't much, doesn't mean there was none.

"How did Owen and Beru age 40 years in 20?" It's that Tatooine double sun - double the suns double the aging
Mike Kawano Dang, I never thought of that 😂
*Twice the Sun Double the Aging
So that explains why Anakin could hook up with Padme even though he was a small child when he met her
Maybe from having to raise the clueless son of Whineakin Skywalker?
Mike Kawano so luke is like 20 years older than leia?
Anakin's real reason for turning: he didn't like how the Republic was handling themselves. The way jedi are trained are no different from how stormtroopers are trained. He feared once they defeated the Sith, they would slowly become the sith. So Anakin turned not to become evil for evil's sake, but to create a compromise between both sides. He thought he could redefine the Sith and settle the war, while also being an example for the Republic, but Palpatine's grip on him was so tight, his goal was harder to reach. So when he found Luke, he saw a way out of that grip. He could team up with his son to kill the sith and create a new order, but unfortunately he died.
Now because of crap writing, people think he's just a whiny brat who just wants to be evil. DAMMIT GEORGE!
+Alexandru Ionescu no he meant like a new republic or resistance
+Alexandru Ionescu fellow Romanian !
+K Damon yeah dude also how Windu was a total hypocrite and isn't merciful no matter what. Even though Palpatine was a sith, a true jedi would spare him. And if he was spared the people would find out he was a sith lord. Man the whole series would have turned out differently if Obi Wan fought Palpatine instead.
good point. Do you think Anakin would side with Obi Wan over Palpatine?
*****
he could, but even if he left, he still has that ambition to make a difference eating away at him. If he left, nothing would change. He believed once the Republic defeats the Senate, they'll abuse their power, and he really wanted to keep that from happening.
Alec Guinness said it best.

+Yoda on DMT As a young kid seeing this film for the first time that was a legitamite twist for me.
+Jacob Martinez I was cool with it. I was fine with the whole prequel to be honest.
I don't know what people's problem is.
+Yoda on DMT The story was weak (and barely added anything to the original trilogy) and all of Anakin's acting was bad, Jar Jar. The Phantom Menace was horrible, the Clone Wars were ok, same with Revenge of the Sith. They weren't necessarily bad, just weak in many different aspects that made fans of the originals come to hate it because of how amazing the original trilogy was.
+Yoda on DMT i could not sit through any of the star wars movies when i was younger even the first 3 got ruined by my age and i have not seen them sense
+Zohaib Haider Unfortunately watching them from episode 1 also destroyed the best twist in the whole trilogy for you. You have seen The Empire Strikes Back I presume, so you know what one I'm talking about.

+Buzz Light year To Infinity and Beyond
The prequals tell an interesting & compelling story -- they just don't always execute on the performance. For film buffs who are interested in the nuts & bolts of how movies are made, I'm sure that the prequals are unbearable. For the rest of us who are simply interested in being told a story, the prequals are actually pretty fun.
I think that the Star Wars prequals are a lot like crocs. The internet hates them mostly just because it's cool to hate them.

Awkward Sause I second that. I loved episode 2 the most
I blame the script writer, Christensen had deeply emotional moments that got ruined by "I don't like sand" moments
And the director. So really just George Lucas.
Honestly I think Hayden showed some good acting...the only problem was the script he had was garbage.
Why do people hate that scene so much?
"I don't like sand?" Of course he don't, he was a slave on desert planet!
I counted and in the scene were palpatine talks to anakin while watching that bubble show, Palpatine turns to anakins suspiciously about NINE times...

They cared more about how many cool flips they could do rather than the simple fact of its two people trying to kill each other. They lost what the original fights against Luke and Vader had, real stakes.
Yeah, imagine trying to kill your enemy instead of dancing like on the Prequels
@@alburqueniense2442 well this are not real sword fights, for the simple reason they are Jedi, they are trained in the use of the force not in killing your opponent!
Have you seen the original trilogy ? That's called a realistic fight. There is no way swordsmen would fight like people in the prequels. It looks beautiful but it's just a dance and their moves make no sense whatsoever.

I don't think the Palpatine/Sidious reveal was supposed to be surprising, I feel like I knew that when I was five and Episode I came out.
+Andrew D. Royappa Yeah they didn't actually try to hide anything. It was supposed to be more of a surprise to the characters than it was to the audience. That reveal could have been executed than it was though.
+Xesthan What could they have done differently to make it better?
+Andrew D. Royappa Am I the only one who didn't know Palpatine was the emperor? I had forgotten episode I and II by the time I saw this one. It actually made the movie cooler. I was like "WTF???!!!"
+Daniel Broggi Ciardullo (Dani) haha that's actually kind of awesome. I bet that made the movie a lot more fun
+Andrew D. Royappa It was "worst" for me, I didn't even know Anakin was Darth vader, I only saw episode II and parts of episode I before, but I knew the existence of darth vader (he was so cool and mysterious back then) and many classic scenes because of parodies and other mentions. My mind was blown when Anakin turned into Darth Vader
"OHHH so this is what this trilogy is about and it is supposed to be before the other episodes, that's why they are IV, V and VI depite being made before!!!"
Happily I can say that revelation felt just like the "Luke, I'm your father" scene for the people that first saw the originals.

Man, people use Hayden as a scapegoat for saying the prequels suck. But to me the script is by far the worse
In some of the behind the scenes footage, he delivers the lines really well and then George Lucas tells him to deliver them arguably worse.

+Daniel Russell people with nostalgic goggles my friends. it just doesn't live up to it's predecessors' cinematography and whoever wrote those terrible screen writing had no idea about screen writing, most of it was soo cheesy.
+Aize I for one loved the third prequels if not all, like, i loved it, yes there were few minor things that needed to be fixed but thats it. I was more involved within the story than the other two. If they had only made the clone wars being about well, the clone wars like a story from the clone wars animated series, it could've been well done. I disliked most of the things about Phantom Menace, it's seriously a bad start to begin with, the concept was there, the premise was also there, the foundation from the predecessors as well, it was just poorly executed and they needed to add unnecessary stuff to it.

"Not the the guy who does 4 Evil head turns in 1 conversation?!!! What a twist." I love this so much
I don't understand how this part of the video was clever. It wasn't supposed to be surprising that Palpatine was the Emperor. It wasn't supposed to be a twist. In fact, the name Palpatine was given as the Emperor's name in the New Hope novelisation and many other times before the prequels.
Yeah, it was never meant as a surprise, especially not at that point, it was obvious at that point. That would be like saying Anakin turning out to be Darth Vader was supposed to be a surprise. And yeah, the Name Imperator Palpatine was was already established. So it was pretty clear who he was in the first movie already.
Ian McDiarmid played the emperor in episode VI, as well as senator Palpatine in ep I II and III, his identity was never meant to be a surprise
How this part of the video was clever: the guy that did 4 head turns = lots of turning. What does all that head turning does to your neck? Maybe... some twisting? A twist?
actually the precuel movies tried to do a twist, but it doesn't have any sense anyway.

Im sorry but the "staring out the window scene" is really powerful and good
Ah, it's alright, and good to a degree.
It’s probably the only scene that works in the entire trilogy between Anakin and Padme.
And it’s when both of them aren’t sharing the same shot, uttering a word of dialogue and they’re in 2 entirely different locations.
"With a performance so robotic, his body finally catches up to his acting"
Brilliant
A lot of the stuff commented on here is heavily taken out of context. The scene between Anakin and Padme is one of the most powerful scenes in the movie for more reasons that just “standing and staring out of windows.” The Jedi falling to the Clones is also justified. They trusted them for three years and had little reason to believe they would betray them. They would have no time to respond to it.
Plus, I feel Screen Junkies heavily cherry-picked the bad parts out of what is actually a good movie. There was no mention of: the best lightsaber duel in the franchise, the incredible visuals and worlds, the atmospheric scenes and amazing soundtrack and if you’ve watched the Clone Wars tv show, one of the most emotional scenes in the entire franchise. Look, just because everyone else on the internet gives the prequels hate doesn’t mean you have to follow that trend. Revenge of the Sith is good and not just by default.
"Anakin is easy to manipulate." He forgot about the fact that Palpatine is a genius who was behind the war and went from being a senator on one planet to supreme chancellor with nearly unlimited power

Because Obi Wan can jump higher
+Hazmin Fisal Did Obi Wan know Anakin couldn't jump higher?
Ofcourse he knows. He train him since he was a child.
+Mark Meason Darth Maul didn't even try to slash him. That Sith arrogance and overconfidence doesn't really help you, even if you are the stronger warrior.
Plus, Obi-Wan was in that first duel. He could probably anticipate what someone would do in Anakin's place and counter it, because it's what he would've done and what he did before. (If that makes sense)
+Mark Meason George forgot that when he wrote RoTS
Okay, that window scene is actually really good though. Out of all the shitty dialogue heavy scenes, that one really leaves an impact
Yes, I think the movies should have had more physical reactions than talking.
+Slippy Toad hard to have much of a reaction when the character you are playing doesn't have a personality, you only have 5 feet of room to work with and it's all in front of a green screen so you have no real reference to what your character is supposed to see :P
+DoctaDaKing The leaves are falling.
***** I enjoyed the prequels, but sometimes the dialogues felt too long. I know prequels have to explain how the universe got to that point, so they will of course have the focus on many characters and are limited by the events in the following movies. I just got lost around five times because I couldn't keep up with the dialogue. I think the bigger events are better suited to actions. But I am not saying the original trilogy did it well; there was also some talking I did not like, and sometimes the action felt forced.
+DoctaDaKing I completely agree. That silent scene reflected Anakin's internal conflict far more than the dialogue did. Unfortunately it is overshadowed by the rest.
