    I can't say it enough, thank you sir for your great videos on these Audi's I absolutely love my B6 Avant and want to keep her taken care of as long as possible and these videos are great. I am lucky enough to live just a few blocks away from a Audi junk yard and its painful to see these brought in but I also love the advantage of grabbing parts for my wagon. Thanks

    Thank you for this video! I have a 20 year old A4 and my alarm has been randomly going off for over a year. I've checked all the wiring in the vehicle and finally decided it was time to remove the alarm. Turned out there was significant corrosion in the wiring connected to the alarm itself.

    Hi just to give you an update Ive had a new siren installed in the engine bay and they ran the cable through behind the dashboard and connected it to the alarm module box and disconnected the old silly beeper in the boot...this makes a huge difference and much louder when it activates...just thaught I'd share with you in case you get the same question from someone else...

    Hi there thanks a mill for the great videos.could you please tell me if it's possible to replace those silly Audi beepers with a louder siren mounted in the engine bay and run the wire to the alarm module in the car?
    I've had my car broken into twice now and never heard that beeper going off it's too quite.
    Any help would be great thanks.

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey there! That' san interesting question. Whilst most things are possible, I don't think this would be easy at all. It might be a better option to wire in an additional siren, but again that could be quite complex. It's not something that I'd like to attempt TBH as could cause issues, but if you do then best of luck. You will likely need to get some wiring diagrams from Audi workshop software or similar.

Many thanks and love the vids.

    hey boss.. im working on my central locking.. would u know where i can find the lock/unlock wires.. i wana splice into them and connect a keyless remote receiver.. can u be of help? appreciate ur help.. as alway!!

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 7 lety

      That's a tricky question. The locks will be part of the alarm system and it may be difficult to add aftermarket keyless receiver. Maybe they make receivers which integrate into the Audi alarm system (unlikely however as this would be a big security issue).
      It's the door lock that locks/unlocks the door. You may be able to splice into the input wires there, but without knowing in details exactly what you want to achieve it's hard to know what to advise.
      But the security (alarm) must be the biggest consideration here.
      Best of luck with it!

      Hey there! I think it would be unlikely. Your best bet is simply to replace your old one with exactly the same type to ensure compatibility.

When i disconnected the charger cables had no problem starting the car but i notice the hazard lights came on and stayed on. Now the hazard lights wont turn off even when i disconnect the batery cable could you tell me what could be the problem .

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 5 lety

      Hey there! Sorry to hear that. That's beyond the scope of what we can describe here. Personally I'd get VCDS and plug it in and check for fault codes. That kind of faulty usually makes itself apparent when scaned with diagnostics. Chasing the wiring around and testing ECU's etc could take forever, so diagnostics would be the easiest route. VCDS is excellent!

Now headlights started flashing. My convertible top won work. Would alarm battery/system would be the cause of all this? Also, in A4 2006 is it located behind the right boot as you showed? Thank you very much.

    Does the Alarm Siren make the lights switch? My Audi A4 2003 alarm system is making the lights randomly go on and off regardless whether or not the engine is on.

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 7 lety

      That's a good question. I would not expect the alarm siren itself to control the lights, but if there is a fault in the alarm system then yes indeed the lights could flash. Do you mean the indicators rather than headlights?

      Hey there! Unfortunately we are not covering the A3 8P platform just yet. We are hoping to be able to expand Total Technik to cover additional models, but it's not a cheap undertaking and our expansion will be solely reliant on the support we receive from our viewers.
      Hopefully we can cover that model in the not-too-distant future!

    ERROR - Be advised: this video is wrong for A4 cabriolet owners! In the A4 B6/B7 Cabriolet the horn is NOT located as suggested in the luggage compartment (boot) of the car. Instead the horn is located in the compartment the foldable roof is stored in, on the right hand side. Open the hood half way until the compartment it is stored in is empty and you have all the room to work.

      The siren on my B7 RS4 has been progressively malfunctioning more and more over time. Now, when I lock the vehicle or press my panic button, the vehicle will still light up as it normally would in the headlights and taillights, however no sound is omitted. Dead silent. I’m assuming the same would be the case if it were removed altogether.
