I run Nova on Galaxy and LG devices, but the LG has a noticably smoother interface. I can't stand using a galaxy immediately after handling the LG. I also prefer the LG Oled panel.

The P-OLED screen is excellent, it's less saturated compared to Samsung displays. The black is very dark. The white turns slightly blue if you look at the screen from an angle, which I never do, the issue is over blown. -The battery life, which is the same capacity as the LG G6, is excellent. The Snapdragon 845 seems to be very power efficient. -The speaker is very average, a little sharp and lacking bass, not even good by 2019 standard. -Surprisingly the camera isn't that much better than the G6, but I only use ported Google Camera app so both phones take great photos with it. -Fingerprint scanner is much improved over the G6, work pretty much every time. -The screen edge is curved so regular glass screen protectors doesn't stick well to it. I use a wet applied screen protector. -Phone, Bluetooth and WiFi signals all seems to be good. Unless you are using AT&T, do not buy the AT&T version at all, even if it's been unlocked. With AT&T branded phones, you need to use an AT&T sim card to receive software updates. Even then I couldn't get this phone to receive update when borrowing an AT&T sim from my family. I had to buy my own AT&T prepaid sim and activate it with the phone's IMEI for it to receive updates. I haven't test the newer Samsung S10 AMOLED displays in person for how much they flicker, but I can say LG P-OLED display flicker less than some of the recent Samsung displays. On the Pixel 3, you can see flickering already at 60hz at high brightness. On the V35, you can begin to see flickering at 180hz for high brightness, and 120hz at medium brightness. It's still not ideal, but it's less bad. I also see from CZcams video the G8 display flicker less than Galaxy S10.
LGs biggest issue is marketing and product awareness. Their hardware is on par with any other OEM they just need to get the word out and be diligent about software updates going forward. They are doing a Ok job so far with Android 10.

its such a nice phone! I just bought it in Nov 2021, used in great condition for 140 USD. I love the design, the flush camera is so nice. the physical fingerprint sensor is very accurate and reliable. The camera is super good, probably the best one I've ever had. My last 3 phones were Moto G6 (2018), Realme 6i (2020) and iPhone 8 Plus (2021). This LG phone really has got it all. Love it.

Other companies could "figure out" flush cameras, but they don't because bumps protect the camera glass, Tim. LG only does it because boombox sound requires the back to be flat.

I love LG fingerprint sensor in my LG V30. It works almost all times even when my finger is a bit wet. So I dont expect optical and ultrasonic fingerprint in LG mobos ..

Watching this review, it seems like an update to G7, I was kind of thinking it's got a lot more to offer... Not complaining, I know Samsung and Apple do this even more so, milking peoples cash as they don't even reduce the price of the previous builds! Hence why I jumped ship. Don't regret it. People should give LG a go. Make the others think twice on what they offer.

I just got this for my wife. I really like how the cameras on back are flush, way to go LG! Wish Samsung did that with the cameras on the reasr of my S10+.
I just purchased this phone. Can't wait to get it in the mail. I've had an LG G2 for years, figured it's time to upgrade. :-) P.S. For me, working in my work environment, I think the hand swipe thing will come in very handy as in I won't have to actually touch my phone as much and get grime on it when I'm listening to my music.
Anyone else remember when touch screens were just coming out and it was a "gimmick" then they got them figured out and now every phone made has touch screens and it's weird not to have it? Thats how I see this air motion stuff. It seems gimmicky and new now because its a new idea and they havent worked the kinks out yet. But eventually itll be working so well it'll be standard. And I want it to, this kind of technology is the future, handless touchless technology. More than curved screens? Who cares about a bendy or curvy screen. It may suck now but give it a few years of research and development.
Hey is the charger finally QC 3? Lg has been bundling essentially the same QC 2 that Samsung uses for the longest time. Look for the voltage on it should be like 12V or more

Im so mad lg isnt giving the platnium gray variant to tmobile. They had that color for G7 and its emaculate. A choice of black or red really killed my excitement to get this those colors are so cliche every phones black nowadays.

@gary burrows - I did not end up with either version and went with a ZTE. Alas, the phone started to act.up almost immediately and continued to get worse. I recall the 7 from back in the day. The phone, or mine, has some serious intermittent problems that have gotten worse. They wanted to 'fox' the broken one but y thought was that no, I want a new replacement to which I offered to return the broken one after taking the info off to the new phone and if not returned within an agreed upon time they could then charge me for both phones. The next call had that they wanted the full price (I purchased the phone with a sizeable discount.) plus an additional $101US all up front thereby tying my (clinic) credit card up, not to mention the timing around the Holiday. I told them I would get back when I had cleared any balance which will be today. The fellow that does tech reviews for them suggested that since it is becoming apparent that they are no longer offering support that maybe I ought to cancel the transaction all the way and have the cc company reimburse the card. Of course there us a wait on that also... All said and done, I have now been looking at the V50 as it has a 3 camera set up. What happened to the days when cell phone companies did not see consumers as sheep or cattle? Or maybe they always did and I am now just beginning to see that. 😉 Thank you.

Not it has snapdragon 855 instead of 835, it has different censors, it's not the same

Nope my wifes had no case nor earbuds, only usb c cable and usb wall adapter. With a sim ejector.
