    I think Scream absolutely needs Neve Campbell. I would pay my hard earned money to watch Neve Campbell eat cereal and recite the alphabet. No offense please...I just love Neve Campbell, lived her since Party of Five.. I also love Jennifer Love Hewitt ❤️ Sorry, I l will take me some Neve any way I can
    ..No offense!!! Lol 😆 🤣 😂

    I loved Neve Campbell in Wild Things. I will stick with that as far as she goes.

    I don't think Scream needs Sydney anymore. I think the story around Sam and Tara is interesting and different. Bringing Sydney back doesn't move the story forward.

      @@vampirascoffin870And that's the problem. It's redundant and it's been done to death. Let Sydney have her happy ending and live in peace for God's sake smh

      @UndeadVideoProd Před 11 měsíci

      @@vampirascoffin870 the killer in six and really five as well is very loosely connected. It’s more about the stab franchise now. Hell you could’ve killed her in four and not had her in five and it would’ve been perfectly fine. She seemed like an afterthought in both movies. They could’ve just went hard, and started new generation with four or five without her.

      @@brianmeen2158 you might not need it. It might be tired for you. But you don’t speak for everybody. And you can always just not watch what they put out next.
      But why would you want to take away from other people that do you wanna watch it?

    Neve is great, I always love seeing her no matter what but even as a huge Scream fan I don't think there is much to do with her story anymore. I think her character arc wrapped up nicely in Scream 3. I enjoyed seeing her in 4 and 5 but it didn't add much to her story.
    I think it's time to fully commit to these new characters and pass on the legacy, I'm totally up for Neve returning again if they have something interesting to do with her, but it's not a necessity and won't hurt anything if she doesn't.

  • @UndeadVideoProd
    @UndeadVideoProd Před 11 měsíci +3

    I personally believe that her story was done after the third movie. And then definitely, the book was closed at the end of the fifth.
    And the sixth one showed you can continue without her easily
    But I also think that they should only bring back the core four if they’re making it the end of a trilogy.
    I also also also think it’s ready for a sub genre shift
    And what I mean by that
    The meta-commentary of all the movies has always been Making fun of slashers, Sequel, trilogies, remake, legacy sequels, super fans
    I definitely think they could tackle some other genres
    Take the four put them in a cabin in the Woods, isolation film set it during winter.
    You can also do found footage or supernatural or 1000 other things and keep the slasher aspect of it. And I think it would be very interesting for them to tackle scream versions of the sub genres.
    After this movie, they could make a whole series of movies that aren’t directly connected to one another as long as you have the meta commentary and the mask
    Go full-blown anthology with it

    Scream 3 was Sidney’s perfect sendoff in my opinion. At the end of 3 Sidney is at her house with Dewey and Gale and for a moment she realizes the front door is wide open and rather than freak out or go shut and lock the door, she smiles and walk off and cuts to black. This shows she is no longer afraid and all is well. It was over.

  • @Matter-Dark
    @Matter-Dark Před 11 měsíci

    I feel like her story was pretty much over in Scream 3, and Scream 5 was good final send off for her. If she comes back, I’d be happy, if she doesn’t come back, I’d also be alright with that.

    I understand that Neve's involvement as Sidney needs to be respected and I agree with that. But I will not watch nor own a Scream movie if she is not in it. Sidney is my favorite character and to me it just wouldn't be the same movie without her. So to that I say #NeveCampbellforScream7.

    3 was a good and off. 4 was a cool return. 5 was also a cool return, but it was also a good and off in itself. You don't need Neve in 7, but I also agree that the probability of her coming back is there. Wouldn't mind, but it's not necessary, either. This new group of main characters are working together just fine now. Like Cobra Kai, they're doing what Star Wars should've done.

  • @yospilner
    @yospilner Před 11 měsíci

    When Kirby came back in 😱 6, they wrote it that she knew Sam in High School. I’m sure the writers can write a narrative to make Sidney’s return believable. Like why can’t Sidney/family be the main target(s) in 😱 7 which make Sam & Tara come in to help her?

    We don't need anymore Scream movies period, however we will unfortunately get them. I know a person automatically pisses of 50% of the fanbase when you take a stand regarding if you want Stu to return or not...but I have to say I'd probably check out altogether if they brought him back. I'll put myself in that camp. It's such a dumb and idiotic idea...I probably honestly wouldn't go see it if I knew he was being brought back, to be perfectly frank.

    IMO: Disagree on this one, Sidney is a legend in the franchise and loved. They could write good stuff with her, it’s all in the writing.. scream 5 was not a good send off for a heroine who helped make Scream what it is.. I feel like you would’ve wanted that for Laurie 💯.. hoping she’s back for 7 with the core 4!
    Love you though Dave.

    The Scream films have gone so far off course from the first few (a seemingly endless array of psychotic people with silly reasons for dressing up as Ghost Face) if Neve does return it must be related to the past as an essential plot point. My two cents.

    Honestly.. they need to end it after #7. Somehow make it come full circle where all the films have 1 solid connection… how you do that… 🤷‍♂️ if that means Sydney comes back.. cool… if not, not a big deal. I just don’t see how much more they can milk from the concept.

  • @Jrd387

    First I would say Scream 2022 and Scream 6 are far weaker than Scream 3 but they are not bad but they are hovering barely in the OK category! Looking at how the terrible writers have handled the story in Scream 2022 and Scream 6 I wish the legacy characters had been left out because than Dewey's character would not have been turned into a broken drunk who got a garbage death and they basically destroyed his character like TLJ did to Luke Skywalker and Sidney and Gale are basically shoehorned in cameo's! The only good thing the writers did in Scream 2022 was have Gale saying she would never write a book about Ghostface again and instead say she would write a book with Sidney about Dewey but than in Scream 6 they completely backtracked on that and had her write another Ghostface book which is again the writers saying FU to Dewey's memory! I think Sidney was missed in Scream 6 but it's clear the writers don't know how to write for her character and they are reducing her and Gale to cameo's at best and you would think Paramount would know you can find a balance with what Top Gun Maverick achieved! Sidney might be back for Scream 7 but unless the Director fights for a better script I don't see it being better because it's the same garbage writer's!

      I’m gonna tell you that will never happen
      She has going on account constantly saying she will refuse to let her character die, because it goes against her message of the character Her character is a Survivor and she will not let that go

    We don’t need a scream 7 at all so whether Neve is in it is irrelevant to me.. I love the scream

  • @SomethingThatSCREAMS
    @SomethingThatSCREAMS Před 11 měsíci +3

    The problem is, the new characters are not as compelling or memorable as Sidney was. She is synonymous with Scream. So I think her being there is always a plus. But, this series has run it's formula into the ground. They need to do something different that fans won't see coming. Scream 6 was good until the final act. It's just been done to death. A different structure is needed. The setting is not the problem. You could set it in Siberia but if it's still the same old reveal at the end it's just boring.

    • @brianmeen2158
      @brianmeen2158 Před 11 měsíci

      Agree and that’s my biggest problem with the new characters - I don’t care about any of them. In fact, whenever they were showed to be alive at the end of 6 I groaned - that’s the exact
      Opposite reaction I had when Dewey was shown to alive at the end of 2..
      But yeah they are going to keep making these movies until they squeeze every cent out of it. Scream 5 & 6 are solid sequels but I found myself cringing at numerous scenes throughout as we’ve been there done that
