    UPDATE:
I was informed my a trusted source that Perl WAS submitted to the Academy for Oscar consideration, but that A24 was indeed all in on Everything Everywhere All At Once. My larger point however, still stands. Not every movie can be and will be considered for Oscar contention because not every movie gets submitted. So it's always good to first ask yourself before losing your mind over what you think might be an Oscar nomination snub... did the studio even submit the film to be considered? There are ways to find this out.

Dave makes a lot of intelligent points here. People should think more, research more. Don't jump to rash conclusions about anything.

You can blame a lot of the online hate on companies that are no longer putting messages and thought provoking topics into their movies. They’re putting propaganda and agendas in their films nowadays and a lot of the time it takes precedence over story and characters. Moreover it’s being injected into decades old fan loved franchises, so fan’s definitely have the right to be pissed off.

One last thought I do agree I think hate watching is stupid but the reason fans are hating a movie before it’s released as well is because the show runners/actors are vocalizing their agendas while promoting it and it’s the same old tired song and dance nonsense that doesn’t belong. I’m 35 years old and there has been diversity in film and television my entire life. This hyper focus on race and orientation is disgusting and divides us more than it unites us. This constant focus on meaningless traits that makes us different is taking precedence over what makes us the same.

A bet John loved forking out 75k for that 😂 am surprised he didn't turn it down tbh. If he actually paid for it that is.

I am Sorry here.. even though I like horror movie, we should he honest about the fact that, horror movies are minor genre "as a matter of fact" than others.. in a vacuum, all the visual arts should be equal, but in reality horror movies are too much time garbage than good, too many times disturbing, pervert at maximum they are fun.. I consider Carpenter maybe the only example of a horror director Who was able to represent something "invisibile" , something inside human nature and paychopatology, that really are close to the main geniuses out There of the cinema history, the Tarkovskijs, the Antonionis, the Kubricks and all these guys.. Carpenter was the only One.. Who tried something different.. something artistic..
