I love these magnetic saw jigs, I havent seen one like this before! How do you keep the saw from marring the reference surface of the jig? Does the saw have no set? or do you simply accept the jig will need replacing periodicaly? I think a 90 degree on the back end of the jig would be useful. Thanks for the vid!

Thank you for your comment, usually Japanese saws teeth are less bent outward than western saws, this reduces the saw teeth sawing into the jig and allow the jig to serve longer. The other side can be cut at 90 or at 6 to 7 degrees for soft wood dovetail as you like.
The design came to my mind by coincidence so I thought it might be useful to share it with other woodworkers, I hope so 🤝

@@TheWoodCrafter1 Thanks, I use japanese saws and experience the teeth marring the refernece surface of such jigs when in use and thought I may be doing something wrong as I see a lot magnetic saw jigs and it never gets mentioned. Thanks for sharing, I look forward to more of your content.

I use a piece of sticky tape. The surface will be marred, but is easily replaced. Highland hardware is a good source.
