I’ve watched countless hundreds, maybe thousands, of build videos on CZcams, and this is the ONLY one deserving of the epic soundtrack overlaid onto the final assembly. I’m awestruck that your wide range of tools is out-matched by your skills and imagination. The sheer number of high quality purpose-built jigs in your shop is incredible. Something as simple as your chisel work is worthy of its own video, but here in this video we are treated to an extraordinary display of craftsmanship and artistry. Thank you.
Man! that is so sweet indeed, I am so grateful! I don’t know what to say more. I owe you a big hug. All due respect to you sir, thank you 🤝🌹
O
Good job and good epic music. What's the title?
@@Lorentz1975 This vise is called "Miter Jack" it was used back in 18 and 19 centuries, also there is a link in the description showing how it is used.
@@TheWoodCrafter1 thanks a lot. And the music title pleas?
Spent over 30 minutes watching someone build something I didn't know what, just to discover it was something I personally have no use for....yet thoroughly enjoyed the experience because of the skills and precision displayed. Inspiring to upgrade my work. Thanks for the video!
One of the best feedback I have ever received on my channel for the past 2 years, yet made me laugh! I am sorry if I wasted your time but I hope it inspires you when making something more useful to you. Respect 🤝
@@TheWoodCrafter1 definitely not a waste of time, I might even watch it again from time to time for inspiration! Subscribed as well.
@@jack5402 most welcome, good to have you on board 🤝
Me too, watched it and wondered if he was gonna show me what is was used for and not sure why I would go to that much trouble and expense to make what is a vise when I have a perfectly good joining table. Built in about the same amount of time as well.
@@kenparnell4297 Thank you ken for your time and comment, please check the link I left in the video description for what this vise can do, thank you for your time again.
Winner f the award for most tools used in one video.
Да, тиски получились хорошие, но при наличии такого колличества станков и ручного инструмента можно пилотируемый космический корабль построить... Пора поднимать планку и двигаться дальше). Успехов!
That’s one hell of a nut cracker. Be good too see how it’s used. Amazing workmanship.
Making a video soon
I agree, his skill is an awesome vision. On the other hand, when I started watching I had a full head of brown hair. He still hasn't finished and my hair has all gone grey.
🤗🤝
Spent over 30 minutes watching someone build something I didn't know what, just to discover it was something I personally have no idea what it is or what it does
:) will post another video to explain soon
@@TheWoodCrafter1 please! because it is beautiful!!...but what it is? :P
@@jorgenio11 I have posted another video yesterday about how it is used and what it can do, please check the channel videos list you will find it, thx for watching 🤝

There are men who build beautiful houses. Men who build out the inside with exquisite woodwork. Men who build fine furniture to place within. This man creates art which to place on those shelves.

대단하심, 당신을 장인어르신으로 인정합니다.
Most people would have no Idea what this jig does nor how to use it nor what it is good for… you have demonstrated a high precision level of great workmanship that is not common. Thank you for sharing your work.
Thank you for your comment 🤝
I spent this entire video thinking what the heck until the end. Great build!
Thank you Roger 🤝
Lol I fell asleep and woke up to this thought you were making a juice press guess a couple additional pieces and it's a multi tool good job looks great
😊🤝
Wow. Surprised you only have a little over 20k subscribers. The quality of production and the quality of the workmanship shown is on par or maybe above the 1+ million subscriber channels. I wish you a great growth on this platform and I look forward to digging through your back catalogue :)
My pleasure and I hope you will find other videos helpful and entertaining and thank you for passing by, CZcams requires a lot of hard-work and patience, I can see that from your channel though 🤝
I just felt an obligation to come on here and pay huge respects to u bro.. I've only just started to really love doing a bit of wood working but what u just did must take years to learn. I'm in awe right now. To build a Clamp of this magnitude on YT when so many ppl are rushing like crazy to build projects is phenomenal to see.. It's given me even more incentive to work harder now and push on.
Salute to u my friend and keep making these beautifully crafted pieces.. They're inspiring me anyways bro..
Thank you bro for your delightful comment, it is my pleasure to read that, wish you the best of luck and joy in your woodworking journey 🤝
@@TheWoodCrafter1 Yeah no worries pal.. I got the bug for wood working a couplre of months back. I'm 49 yrs old so I'm late to it but I'm about to start on a great journey of my own.. I have the place to build a little workshop and once I get it cleared out I'm away..
I have seen some great videos on here but the way u made those pieces shows great patience imho. I will be watching and learning intently from now on too.. Thanks for the inspiration my friend..
I was absolutely mesmerized watching this, and I don't think words can describe it. Watching someone at the top of their game is a rare thing. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your sweet comment, it is a pleasure to read positive comments
I’m pretty sure I never blinked during this video. Thank you for sharing.
🌹🙏🤝
Even if I had every tool at your disposal, no way could I ever make anything like this. The accuracy and detail are amazing! Magnifico! And the bidding starts at.......
🙂 Thank you for your compliment 🤝🌹
I have a couple of vintage tools with wooden threads like this. I have noticed that they often have part of the threads chipped off over time. These missing chunks do not make the tools unusable but they do make them look "less pretty".
It took me a while to realize it, but this appears to be caused by screwing the threaded rod down tightly before storage. If that is done in the dry season, seasonal expansion due to changes in moisture content will put a prolonged force on the threads and shear some pieces off. Loosening the threaded rod (clamp in this case) for storage will prevent this and ensure that the tool remains in pristine condition. The indoor humidity swings over 40% where I live (Canada), and my mitre jack came from England with this type of damage already on it. Your location probably has less seasonal shrinkage or expansion, but still...
This is a very nice build, thank you.
That is a great tip Kent, thank you for sharing this, I really appreciate it! In Jordan it is very dry in summer but humid in winter! (70 - 80 )I will make sure to loosen that thread and leave it like that when not in use 👍🤝
I'm completely humbled at the level of skill, craftsmanship and talent you have exhibited in this video. I really enjoyed the whole experience ... thank you for sharing. Cheers!!
Thx Dave, my pleasure 🤝
Your craftsmanship is exquisite! Also keeping me watching to the end to see what the final piece will look like and be used for is another skill altogether. I just can't see myself putting so much effort and lumber into something I just won't use. Again you are a very talented craftsman, I'll have to check out some more of your work.
My pleasure Pete, thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment 🤝 that is really appreciated
I agree with the other complimentary comments, superb craftsmanship. As I watched I was sure that I could do that (not as accurately) but then you got to the Dado set and I was knackered. Here in the U.K. we are not responsible enough to be allowed to own such demonic devices. To the extent that table saws must be made with a shaft too short for one to be fitted, that’s to prevent us buying a sneaky dado set from the States.
One thing I’m pleased about, it’s taken the western world hundreds of years to realise that Japanese style pull saws are more accurate than our conventional push saws😂
You are a true craftsman
Thanks Stephen, I read that dados are no no in Europe, seems that they don’t meet the safety standards there, as if they were abused then the damage that they can cause is formidable! Still a decent router bit can do almost the same but maybe slower, we can always find another way to skin the cat aren’t we 😀, Japanese saws are great that is so true 👌
I must agree with the others. It shows what precision woodworking can build but does not show what it is for.
We can all be woodworkers but not all can make videos.!!
Not everyone in the water is a lifeguard !!
Beautiful work, I dream of the day when my woodworking skills will allow me to create something on that level.
Thank you, some practice with some patience and there will be no reason for not being able of doing better than that! My best wishes 🤝
Archimedes called, he wants his invention back! Incredible precision & execution man!
Thank you Joshua appreciate it🤝
Simplesmente incrível como consegue um trabalho manual com tanta perfeição parabéns pelo seu projeto perfeito gostei muito mesmo 🇧🇷👏👍💯🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
🌹🤝
I want to say impressive, but that somehow seems inadequate. I didn't know what a miter jack was before this video. Thanks for sharing and I'm in awe of your woodworking skills.
Thank you sir it is my pleasure reading your comment, there is a link in the video description if you wish to see it in action. all the best
I say without hesitation that will be one of those 200 year old treasures that some collector will have in his personal collection some day. It is that well built and magnificent. I'm sure somebody said the same thing to Mr. Stanley about his first hand plane. Absolute beautiful work. How many hours did you spend making this piece? Great video. Thanks.
🙂Thank you sir, it is a pleasure reading your sweet comment!! I can’t tell how many hours I had invested on this build, but it took me 20+ days to finish! Maybe I am slow like a turtle but as I advanced in this project I had to be more careful to avoid the painful redo 🤗, I sincerely thank you for your motivational comment 🤝

Working with wood and watching someone working with wood us so cathartic.
👍
As always, you are the most accurate craftsman I have seen over hundreds of videos over CZcams, we are lucky to have you. Keep it up
🌹🤝
Even if I could build this I would have to have a hermetically controlled shop to have it operational. Amazing skill - hats off!!
🤝🌹
I agree with Jack 100% - I watched 'til the end and I as well have no use for the tool, but I will again and again refer to the craftsman who made it! Exquisite workmanship! And just as Jack did I subscribed and rang... Thank You for being out here in YT land~!
It is my pleasure sir, and more pleasure to have you subs🤝
This clamp is something 😱❤️👍🏼 To bad that it only works as a clamp . Can’t wait to see you build something with it 👏👏👏❤️🇨🇦
@Carbon Proksi lolllll nooo because it’s so beautifull that’s a chame to be using it only as a clamp 👍🏼😜
A combination vice and shooting board.
I think, if I'm wanting to just build something other than a jig, probably use a clamp and a shooting board - when I'm using hand tools.
Sweet miter jack, that’s the nicest one I’ve seen, not that I’ve seen a lot of miter jacks. They are a rare item. I’ve always wanted to make one.
Yes, that’s true they are no longer available commercially!
The work done with this precision is called art not work, I do not know how many years of penance this artist must have taken to achieve this art, it is a matter of great fortune for me to see such work being done in front of my eyes, for this, I am deeply grateful to this artisan.
🙏🙏🤝
Epic!! What an incredible build. I'm really inspired to put a lot more effort into the jigs and machines I am building for my shop. Well done on a truly inspiring build.
Thank you, and good luck 🤝
You take it past epic. I did not need to understand what you were building. Just watching your process was much more informative. You are a master woodworker. Thankyou.
Thank you sir for your nice comment 🤝
thats lovely now I want one
Perfeito! Marcenaria fina! Fantástico!
🌹🤝
That's a cool vise for handtool woodworking. I don't see much use for it though if you already have a miter saw and a table saw, and a bandsaw. You should do a video showing it in action, or at least explain to folks what it's for.
Just posted a video to describe how it is used, please check it out, thank you for watching
Fantastic utterly genius if I could make something halfway as good I would be thrilled
Your artistry is a delight to behold-Thank You✅👍
30:56 until I FINALLY figured out what you are building.......... fascinating to watch and I enjoyed every second of it!! The entire time ,5 - 12 - 17 - 29 minutes in I still don't know. I'll definitely be checking out your other videos, very inspiring to watch your detailed work.
Thank you Jonny, my pleasure to read that 🤝
it is a joy to watch you work even though your skills make me jealous lol'
Thank you mate, lol 🤝
Eifach SUPER . So präzise und sauber kann nicht jeder arbeiten, das muss man lieben !
Danke schön 🤝
That was amazing. The precision is what does it for me
🤝🌹
If you're gluing to flat surfaces that tend to move when you apply the clamps, sprinkle a few grains of salt on the glued area before you mate the surfaces, the salt holds the pieces from slipping.
Thanks for the tip, should try this sometime 👍
Precisión impresionante ....... que solo al final al parecer es una prensa !, Es pura ingeniería.
gracias señor, hay un enlace en la descripción del video para mostrar cómo se usa. Gracias por ver
amazing video, also been wondering for 30 minutes what this will be until I realized that its the single most beautifully over engineer miter box ever done. Congrats, you definitely took this to level infinite.
It is my pleasure to read that sir, thank you very much 🤝
One word, no two words to discribe that project, bloody fantastic to watch. I agree with "Green Leaf" and "Sam Spade" Thank you for sharing. Thumb UP.

I love your work, your methods and your presentation. A pleasure to watch. You say you have a day job. I assume you are technically minded in your work as it reflects in your creativity in your concise shop. Thanks for your inspiration.
Thanks Gary, I hope so 😊, sometimes that can be challenging when working with others, It is my dream to quit my day Job at some point hopefully and dedicate my entire time for my family and woodworking.

Красиво и очень аккуратно! Я думал получится космический корабль :-))

Made mine years ago using a veneer press clamp. I clamp mine with the tail vice on my bench. Use to be called a “donkey ear”.
Good to know that, I am no longer feeling like an alien now 🙂, that old name is funny too 😄
Beautiful craftsmanship and loved the music build up at the end!
Thank you 🙂🤝

Mind blowing accuracy, a real craftsman and wood engineer. Your skill is way beyond my own but I question why you would glue a tenon into cross grain in the main body of your jig. I will watch this video again and again and marvel in your skill. Thank you so much for the video.
Thank you Cameron, appreciate your sweet comment sir🤝, if you can point the minute in the video that shows the tenon gluing I will be able to better answer that 👍
