Advancing with Watercolor Brush Work - The Dordogne

- Some four years ago I visited the Dordogne Valley in Southern France with a group of students. One of the more stunning views of the Dordogne river was from the village of Domme. The village overlooks the Dordogne Valley and surrounding farms and fields - we ventured to this village to have a day of plein air painting in the village.
Back in the studio I revisit the Dordogne and set out the watercolor approach to this complex subject. The video demonstrates the color choices, watercolor technique and brushwork that combine to create a feeling of depth and atmosphere.
This video is part of a series based on the Dordogne and Paris. The Series can be found by following the link to my Gumroad page or by googling Gary Tucker Gumroad

I am so happy to see your lesson, Gary Tucker! You've been a great inspiration and a watercolor teacher for me!
Fabulous!
Thank you so much for sharing your process! I appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos ❤. Amazing work!
Many thx !!
This is so incredibly well made. I hold my breath with every brush stroke. The uniqueness of your style shines through all the time. And the adding of the layers appeals to a logical mind like mine, as well. I am also curious about calligraphy now. Thanks so much Gary to continue to inspire me, not just in doing watercolours but also in making my music. Amazing!!
Wow, thank you! - I appreciate the kind words
So happy to see you upload!
Beautiful! thanks for taking us through the process!

Thx Malcom - happy to hear it
Carefully understand your watercolor plan from beginning to end, and it will never get old.
Thanks for taking some of your valuable time to share more of your talents with us. I've also enjoyed many of your very helpful zoom instructions.
Oh boy! What a great lesson! Amazing work! Please keep sharing your profund watercolor wisdom! Missed to watch you over here! Greatful! Regards from Brazil!
Grande acquarellista! Complimenti come sempre!
Nice rendering of a great view! Brings back memories of the trip/course some years ago. Thank you Gary.
Thanks you so much for sharing this wonderful landscape Gary. I’ve been waiting for you to paint a natural landscape as well as your street scenes. So much expression and atmosphere with understated light brush strokes and barely three colours! Your style reminds me of J.S. Sargent.
this was the 1st lesson in the 1st zoom class I took from you. Such fun. I think I’ll paint it again It’s funny because I just repainted “the florist Rue Cler” yesterday.
HOW DO YOU KEEP THE PAPER WET FOR SO LONG? WHAT A TREAT TO WATCH YOU CREATE!
I follow the bottom of the wash and a mop brush helps
