First
certainly Nice video 👍🏼🚀
Have you thought about using a flare parachute?
Great video. What was your method for ensuring the fins were dead straight when you constructed the vehicle?
@James Wedge he has said in previous vids he works for a model aircraft company. Vintage model co if memory servs correctly
Next on Project Air: Intercontinental Ballistic missile
DIY at home version
He kinda has a Dr. Madlove look about him doesnt he?
@@alexlollar3293 Yeah man, he a little confused, but he got the spirit.
Correction: A Fair Weather Interproperty Balistice Missle.
Israel and North Korea joined the chat.
7:38 Hey! That’s me!
Man you deserve more, you supported a small creater with more means than veiwing, but donating your own hard earned money, i sadly cant do the same since im 13 and dont have a credit card, but you go guy, you deserve it and more
@@proffesionalcodingidiot6142me too
Wow cool!
7:40 - casually flexing having Tom Stanton as a patreon.. :D
😂
xD
🤣🤣
That's cool!
noice
Been watching a bunch of your rocketry videos. I see you are using nylon chutes which is good, but recovery systems failure to deploy, failure to deploy correctly (tangled), or failure to deploy at all, can be attributed improper stowage.
To achieve a higher success ration I suggest the following two tips. 1) carefully dust the chute with talcum powder prior to launch. Be sure to make sure some of the powder ends up between the tube and the cone to assure a clean separation. 2) To avoid tangles, be sure to carefully fold the chute into pie sections and then cure, wrapping the string around the chute very carefully. Combined with the powder, this will avoid the tangles and assure full deployment almost 100 percent of the time.
"Rapid unscheduled dis-assembly" Love it.
That's what NASA engineers call it. Another great rocket-ism is "Lithobraking", or, crashing
@@gonkdroid4prez539 wow, i never knew nerd jokes are this good, they just dont want to admit failing do they
@@proffesionalcodingidiot6142 Nerds like explosions just as much as the net man, though!
@@gonkdroid4prez539 crashing with the landing legs touching the ground!
I really like how detailed this video is.
I really like that he used the limc theme song
Aerospace kevin the bruyne is back at it again.
9:50 Ah I see you like rctestflight too
Rapid unscheduled disassembly. I love that phrase.
The stereotype of UK weather being horrible is spot on. It feels like it's cold, wet, windy or a combination of all of them, for most of the year. Then, we get a scorching heatwave that lasts a couple of weeks in the summer, where everyone is boiling to death, then back to the endless drizzle.
And it always seems to be horrible weather whenever I want to fly. Either too windy, too cold, or raining.
Merry Christmas!
Pretty fantastic work, James!!! 😃
Looking forward to the next part!
Happy holidays! And stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Just found your channel!!!! Wish I found it a long time ago. I’m excited to see the growth of your project!
I was waiting for this!!! Thank you so much🙏 I absolutely love your videos, you deserve a million and more subs
Nice video man, great to see young guys getting into model rocketry. I bought my first Estes rocket way back in 1980, it was red a black with skull and crossbones decals. Flew great, although the fins got damaged on landing. Fins that don’t protrude from the base downwards work much better for models. Great see guys using all the cool kit to model and receive telemetry these days. Regarding the speed and GPS, can you not use accelerometers these days? They’re pretty cheap and compact as far as I know.
I'd feel like I've made it when Tom Stanton is a Patreon supporter. Nice work. Super cool
Hello from Russia. I am glad to see a smart, enthusiastic person.
The nosecone looks like nosecone of the lunar starship!
So basically every nosecone...?
@@mw-tj6ob SpaceX guys, right? ;-)
More like an aamram120c
@@KX36 broo those wings too like even the angle 😯😯😯😯😯
Nyoooom
I love your work dude. Keep up the good content!
My name on a rocket is a VERY cool Christmas present! Thanks James, and merry Christmas and happy new year to you and yours. Major Tom over and out 😎
Looking forward to Part 2! Have a wonderful Christmas.
Two part videos are just fine. Nothing you can do about the weather. Loving the content.
You've just gained a new subscriber! Nice to see someone in the UK with these great interests!
NIce work! Let me add that I have been using your sponsor, Private Internet Access, since 2014. I'm very pleased with it, this is a product that actually works!
just discovered your channel tonight (Jan. 13,2021) and am not sure why I haven't found it before. Planes, rockets, RC electronics... you are hitting most of my interest point! Watched 8 or 10 videos now and am subscribing post haste. Love what you're doing and look forward to more. Thanks.
This guy puts so much effort into his videos he really deserves more attention he is so creative
What a great way to end this year! Keep it up James.
Great video as always, keep up the great work!
That's pretty cool that Tom Stanton is supporting your channel, can't wait for the launch 😁
What a massive improvement! Congrats!
Nice project! I’m a little bit worried about the Estes BT80 tubes being able to handle a G or an H. Speaking from experience, those CTI composite motors have way more thrust than a black powder motor, and the Estes tubes are quite thin and really only meant for low-power use without any reinforcement. In the future as you progress into high-power I would suggest you consider using thicker tubes.
Great job! I'm looking forward to part 2.
Finally staging !
Can't wait for you to make more complicated designs
I built a 5 ft double stage rocket using 2-D engines out of Christmas paper tubes, no plans, worked so good, then about the 8th launch it exploded on the stand, GONE, just schreds everywhere, it flew perfectly everytime. We didn't have all this tech back then, 30 yrs ago .
Happy Holidays! Great video. Keep up the good work :)
Thank you for taking us on these journeys with you. I'm new to your channel but I'm loving the work you do!
Nice video, I have dabbled in model rocketry for many years. Keep up the great work.
Very impressive!! You've got a good collection of skills and knowledge there, I'm predicting a bright future for you!
That looks like you had a great test launch and the rocket looks awesome! I'm not surprised that Tom Stanton is on your list...he's been a CZcams favorite of mine for many years. Keep up the good work buddy! I'll be watching for the next attempt when the weather allows. I'm stoked to see more video from your blue boat!
Looking for ward to the future vids, I always enjoy how thorough and well planned your projects are.
great videos! I'm interested in learning more about the custom rocket engines you sourced for this project. - thank you.
So cool, I experimented a little with small rocket engines as a kid, then I moved onto rc airplanes but I’ve always wanted to combine the 2. Best of luck
Best project ever! It was so good
so sick man keep it up bud love ur vids pls do more
Damn, this guy did his homework.
awesome series and professional build!
LOVE it! I've built sugar rockets before and they were "explosive" but I wish you better luck with your certification!
Aside from weight, which I don't know off hand, I'd recommend a Tile Pro for bluetooth location. The Tile Pro has a range of about 300 feet, whereas the Tile Sticker only has 150 feet, according to Tile. The Tile Pro is relatively easy to disassemble, with a bit of finesse, and remove the plastic case/metal frame, wire a 3V battery to, to save weigh but gain a bit of distance if you need it. Not to mention the Tile Pro has a much louder ringer, which is (from experience) decreased a lot when placing it inside an RC vehicle...
Cool project. Merry Christmas 💯😎
I used to use old umbrella coverings for parachutes, they look and work great and are free.
Never thought I would have my name on a rocket :D I recommend his Patreon, he deserves it ;)
Thanks once again for your support!
congrats. next time he lauches a rocket, you can watch and say, "wow, that's *my* money going up in smoke right there!" :)
What about the magic of CZcams editing!? Was really let down to see this a 2-parter.. Oh well, though! I'll definitely come back for part 2 - you've certainly captured my attention. Well done sir.
A beautiful rocket, can't wait to see part 2! Have you considered making your own rocket motors (e.g. sugar rockets) to provide more tailored thrust profiles?
Is illegal in UK, but if he scale up he can definitely turn to hybrid ;)
You are doing a great job mate, we all feel your pain with the British weather !!
Now let’s get a third landing motor on there, some guidance and control, and let’s give Joe Barnard a run for his money ;)
Dont know how I didn’t see this video pop up! But yesss keep up the rocketry content!!
Thanks guys!
I'm hyped for this video
Looks like you modeled your rocket after a Sidewinder missile. Love it!
Yo that rocket is sick
THIS GUY IS SO UNDERRATED GET THIS GUY BIG
That rocket launch was amazing can’t wait for next video
Nice Rocket, looks very awesome
I should have been born 20 years later. Great Videos and Exp.
Woah. This is so cool! Subbed
He deserves so much more for things like this
appreciate your effort
Wow....love it.
That's so awesome.
Good luck for your next project
nice work
good show, carry on then! cheers!!
This is 2 video I've watched at love him so far
Watching your videos this evening. Had to pause for tea--the effect of having that mug in the video is powerful indeed :) Canadian, but born in the UK, raised by UK-born parents. So, my blood is partially tea :)
Been here since 5k well done
Awesome video
Wow amazing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love your commentaries
I *knew* I recognised that landscape from your earlier vids. Nice to see another shire dweller ;)
i love how this looks like an aerobee rocket!
BEA-utiful ! good job man.
The rocket is too
You can consider adding a Gyro on the top of your rocket, it can keep your rocket vertical during ascent. 😃
Interesting. I have used Estes before I didn't know there was an alternative. Hope the weather turns soon, but I think rocket launch delays to weather only adds to the authenticity😀
Amazing!! Do post more.
Perfecto , bravissimo !!!
Amazing initiative brother 🔥🔥🙏🙏
Good luck on your L1. I remember getting my L3 in 2003. You are proceeding with some great well considered designs and thanks for sharing them with everyone. You’ll be wanting a M HyperTek Hybrid in a minimum diameter design before you know in!
Never done rockets before james but i have made a few para troopers to drop from a Super 60 the best thing i ever tried was using mesh as stringers for the canopy so you only need one thick Cord so there is nothing to get tangled hope this helps.
It is awesome to see my name on a rocket! Keep up the good work! I love this channel!
Thanks again!
Yay! *Moar* rocket projects! :D
Hey Dude!!! I have a suggestion, you should make a model rocket propelled by a punctured tesla battery.
Good job man good
Here before 1M views!
I think you'll hit it!
You need to get yourself a SkyRC GSM020. It works with GPS/GNNS and is far more accurate and smaller/lighter than the one you have. Pretty stable all the time with 12 Satellites and will read up to 29000ft. If you want to try one first I have a spare.
I'm late to this but a major piece of advice (which you probably know about), switch to PETG rather than PLA. Toughness, impact resistance, and heat resistance is much better. Excellent videos rocket man! From across the pond 😉👍
Hey really amazing work, I was just curious, if making a nose cone from a high density thermacol will reduce weight?
nice Arrma limitless in the background, you love speed!
I do ☺️
Nice touch with the list of patreon supporters 👍
I like how Tom Stanton is one of your patrons
Great rocket, can't wait to see it take off. Like for the best VPN ad :)
This is amazing! Do you think you could stick TVC in it eventually?
Between the while rocket, the thin and very long body, and black cone, it gives me very strong AIM 9 Sidewinder missile vibes
