    Flying something small like this indoors, be sure to turn Air Mode off. When you bump into ALL THE THINGS indoors, Air Mode reacts too abruptly and will actually cause you to crash more.

      What's air mode?

    • @PortalFPV
      @PortalFPV Před 2 lety +11

      @@SylvieTheBagel It's a feature in BetaFlight that helps give authority when at zero throttle. Something small that's flown indoors, you don't spend much time if any at zero throttle. When you bump into something, instead of it being just a glancing blow it reacts severely by ramping up the motors trying to correct itself, usually resulting in a crash. But outdoors, you should always have it on.

I’ve crashed my th3 so many times and only about a week ago, some cracks started to show and i’ve got an extra frame for just 12 bucks lying around. Already got the TH 2 Freestyle for outdoors and its nice how it all works with the radio and display of the th 3 rtf kit. Thanks a lot for your great work!

    I jumped into the FPV hobby about 6-7 weeks ago. I went into it with a TinyHawk II. My computer is on the verge of being "not good enough" for sims, but I did download a sim, and after only about 5-6 hours on the sim, I was flying in acro mode reasonably well. The TinyHawk kit's been awesome for me. The TinyHawk III looks better too, so I am tempted to get one. The only thing I changed when I got my TinyHawk II, was that I bought a better transmitter (after about a month). That helped me quite a bit, but the stock controllers are OK for someone who's new to it all. This newer controller looks better than the one supplied in the TinyHawk II, so you may not even need to get something better initially. Shame about the DVR issues. Cheers for the review.

      1. Try CurryKitten sim, go into settings, set resolution to lower, and you'll get 300+ FPS.
      2. Try the TH 2 Freestyle. Powerful, stupidly, and works great. Or, get a 6s BabyHawk. It does about 70 MPH, and is super fun and powerful, while still being usable.

    I just got this kit, and have really been enjoying it. I was excited to connect the transmitter to my computer for use with Sims, but ran into the problem that while my computer is new and capable of sims, it is a mac and the E8 does not play nicely with MacOS. so I picked up an xbox controller but the form factor is not close enough to help with the muscle memory I want to develop. Next attempt was the 3.5mm sim connector, which I can not get to calibrate properly as it does not recognize the throttle channel at all. I was curious @Matt if you have any guidance or pointers? It just depends on your priorities and how much time you can practice in a simulator. The Tinyhawk freestyle is more agile but does not have any protection. With enough time in the simulator first it’s definitely possible to start off with the TH Freestyle. If you don’t have the ability to practice in a sim, then having the propeller guards on the tiny hawk 3 will be very helpful. You can also fly the TH3 inside.

    Hi Matt, great content !! I saw you run Velocidrone on a Mac, what are your specs? I have a 2020 High-End Mac and the simulator runs choppy :(

      I don't recommend. Even on my M1 Mac it's not very good. Gotta lower the resolution a lot. I can't run it smoothly at the native resolution even with the lowest settings.

    Thanks for the review. Do you know if that transmitter works with Mac OS for simulator flying?

    I’m a noob, i have flown RC planes since 2000. I have no problem flying quads at LOS. But i have a problem using goggles. I get confused where I’m at far as from the ground. Any ideas. Thanks
