    I believe that the death spoken of is the death of innocence. Ahsoka had hope that maybe just maybe she could save anakin by turning him back to the light but it was not to be. Thus ahsoka tano died from a certain point of view. Now she must come to terms with the fact that she could not save anakin and only when she realises this will she be able to make peace with the past and go on to become ahsoka the white. It is luke skywalker's task to redeem or kill outright darth vader before facing and destroying the emperor. Kind regards from Daniel Harman.

      The death of the myth of Asoka tawno, because in that moment she tasted her first defeat: A task she could not overcome. A grim revelation she could not reconcile with her world view, self of duty nor self- she was broken. Her *will had died.*

    I agree that Ahsoka was ultimately not enough to restore Anakin Skywalker and free him of the dark and wretched shell of Darth Vader. In spite of the strong bond they had shared, as Master and Apprentice, Ahsoka was a living memory of the man Vader once was, and he was angry with her in a selfish, twisted way, regarding her as someone else who had failed him, viewing her leaving the Order as abandoning him instead of what it really was. So meeting her again, Vader, still obsessed with destroying the very memory of his former self, intended to destroy Ahsoka.
    Ahsoka reaching out to her former master, offering compassion, for a brief moment it did bring Anakin back to the surface, but his anger, hate, and everything else pulled him back into the dark depths of Vader, who affirmed his resolve to kill her.
    While Ahsoka failed, I like to believe that this proved that there was yet hope for Anakin, but that hope was not meant to be embodied in Ahsoka but rather Luke, Anakin's son, whom Vader saw as a fresh start, someone with whom he had a connection and could start anew... but on his own, selfish terms. Luke ultimately succeeded in convincing his father to save him from his dark master and spur Vader-returned-Anakin to turn against the man who had been the cause of all his suffering and finally fulfill his destiny in bringing balance to the Force
    As for Ahsoka and her talk with the Bendu, I agree that the Bendu speaking of death was not necessarily of Ahsoka dying physically, but as the person she was before her fateful reunion with her former master. Or at least, that's how it turned out. The Bendu was uncertain of exactly what would happen, only that a death involving Ahsoka would occur, an implication that her future was not yet decided.
    Had Ezra, through the World Between Worlds, not intervened, Ahsoka would surely have died by Vader's hand, and that would have been her destiny. But Ezra inadvertently changed Ahsoka's destiny, sparing her from physical death but finally ending the hope Ahsoka had of saving her master from himself, essentially the death of that hopeful Ahsoka she was prior. But now, Ahsoka is holding onto regret, haunted by the possible what-ifs had she stayed or done something differently, or whether there had ever been any hope at all for Anakin regardless of herself. This has affected and correlates to who Ahsoka is now. When she met Din Djarin and Grogu, seeing the bond between them, she refused to teach Grogu, fearing his connection to Djarin could lead the youngling down a path similar to the one her former master had taken. Likewise, she failed to properly guide and instruct Sabine due to her own self-doubts and fears, leading to an estrangement between them for several years until the Force brought them back together. Ahsoka fears that she is not enough, partly because she never got to complete her training under Anakin, and so she fears she is not enough to properly guide Sabine, who isn't making it any easier due to her own self-doubts and regrets.
    But I believe they'll find the balance and enlightenment they need to truly become Master and Apprentice.

    After Ahsoka episode 5, the Bendu's prediction of a connection between Ahsoka's foreseen death and her ongoing connection to her master takes on yet another layer. This time it seemed as if Ahsoka was not pulled back from the brink of death but rather died and was resurrected fulfilling the Bendu's words.

    I think it's plain, in retrospect, that the Bendu was referring to the death of who she was. The person she thought of herself as being and with that passing she was able to become who she was meant to be. I also think the Bendu knew that somehow she was gonna survive it, explaining the last part of what he said before he bid her farewell.

  • @FannyPackMan100
    @FannyPackMan100 Před 9 měsíci +3

    I love that the Bendu frequently evokes the titles of people like Kanan and Ahsoka, as if to illustrate the meaninglessness and insignificance of such titles in the grander schemes of Life by bringing them up so frequently that they feel trivialized. It's appropriate, considering how he feels about labels such as "Jedi" and "Sith".

    maybe he speaks of Ahsoka Tano as a Jedi. Although she left the order way ago but after the fight with Vader she may finally been able to move on and accept that her former master is dead and that theres nothing she can do about it. Inevitably she dies in the attempt to avenge Anakin (in the OG timeline) like she says to Vader.
    From then on she may be able to fully identify and accept her live as a force wielder without any attachment to any side.

    It would make sense to say that Ahsoka did indeed die in that fateful encounter, but Ezra’s actions altered the timeline. Thankfully, either through Ahsoka’s own carefulness or by providence, this change triggered no paradox or dangerous timeline divergence.

  • @katerbiller04
    @katerbiller04 Před 9 měsíci +4

    I can see why Filloni scrapped that idea. It is a cool concept as I like the addition of Bendu into the mix of the lore, but it works better for Kanan to be the one to summon him from his slumber. Both characters are written with deep inner conflicts in the Imperial era, yet the scope of Rebells was to tell the sub tale of Calab Dume/ Kanan Jarrius and Ezra Bridger than the return of Ashoka Tanno.
    Yes, Ashoka's conflicts could have awakened the Bendu, but her path was different than Kanan's. Kanan accepted his role as Ezra's master totally, and with the loss of his sight, accompanied with Maul's increasing influence over Ezra, he was broken.

      There wasn't until Ezra changed time... as far as we as the audience know. Based on the way most fictional time travel rules work, one can reasonably assume Ahsoka was dead in the "original timeline" where Ahsoka was killed by Vader. It also retroactively explains where Ahsoka is in the Original Trilogy. At least til they explain where she was literally. This conversation between Ahsoka and Bendu mixed with Vader's trip to the "neatherrealm" of the force on Mustafar, where he foresaw his duel with Ahsoka, prove that to a degree I humbly believe.

    Asoka DOES NOT DIE at the end of the episode!!! She is literally seen walking into the depths of the temple! You miss so much detail I’m not sure how but you do. Go re-watch the episode and pause it when Vader is seen walking away from this point watch In slow motion as her owl shows up then dives into the smoke. The smoke clears at the base and you see her walking into the temple! Ezra cannot bring her back to life because she is not dead. It is why Ezra can pull her out in the world between worlds without affecting the time line. Dave literally says this when Asoka stops Ezra from saving Kanan from death. If he saved her life then it would have changed the timeline and things that had happened in between Asoka confronting Vader and Kanan’s death might have never occurred. Seriously go watch the episode back to back!

    Ezra saving Ahsoka meant the death of the Sequel Trilogy. The Sequel Trilogy follows a timeline where she has been killed (we hear her voice in RoS). But when Ezra saves her, she goes on living and will take part in ending the Empire against Thrawn in a final battle. That's my head-canon and I'm sticking to it.
    But then there's also the idea that she's immortal because of the lifeforce of the Sister dwelling inside her, but whatevs...

    the thing was, Anakin ultimately turned to the dark side in a quest for power, and out of fear of losing the ones he loves, thus fueling his desire for power to stop people from dying, and the only avenue for that proposed to him was through Sith training under Darth Sidious. no other avenue was presented, so he took it and fell to the darkside as a result of that path and not being able to let go of it, even while it destroyed the ones he loved in the end anyway. So, yes, the tragedy of Darth Vader was inevitable whether or not Ahsoka was there. Ahsoka never had that kind of power and could not have swayed him in that decision, even though Ahsoka was the wiser of the two, Anakin was always rash, and always got himself in deep regardless of where he was or who was there.

    I don't know why everyone keeps saying Ahsoka's training was incomplete. At the end of the trial episode, when Barriss is convicted and Ahsoka is freed, Yoda states that perhaps this was her trial. Not referring to the court case, but referring to the Jedi trials that a Padawan completes to become a Knight. I always took it to mean her training was complete. I get that she saw her training as incomplete, but that should not have continued after everything she went through later. I'm disappointed in how it was handled in statements she made during Rebels. Even if she's too blind to see it, the story itself says otherwise.

I assume the Empire would still arise, but would Dooku still be the Apprentice? Well everyone has to die at some point in their life, Ashoka is not immortal. Like they say that the only things certain in life is death and taxes but the Bendu did not explain the details of when and how her death will occur.

  • @stelladiane
    @stelladiane Před 8 měsíci

    Ashoka has died twice…correct? If we look at the Force, or a force being like Bendu, maybe he is omnipresent, looking into more than one timeline? Ashoka will die, has died…and maybe should not fear death? She is the Daughter, something else something more. I’m beginning to think that maybe she is also present in many timelines now? Existing outside of what others are? I don’t know…maybe she will have access to the world between worlds on her own? She should!

    I wonder if she would’ve been with him when he went and told Mace Windu that Palpatine was a Sith Lord, if Anakin would’ve killed Windu and her ultimately too? Or would Anakin been to pressured to help her that he’d resist the dark side? I understand the whole “it was destiny” argument as well, and I think that’s what gives us the answer really. Anakin was always going to bring balance to the force no matter what. He was born to do it.
    Just curious really?

    Ahsoka couldn't save Anakin. There's nothing she could do. It's not her fault. Luke was also extremely shaken when learned that Vader is his father. He accepted it and offered compasion,love and support to Anakin. And he succeeded. I think Anakin was destined to turn to dark side. Ahsoka,Obi-Wan,Padme could do nothing to save Anakin. Only Luke could. I think it's the death of Ahsoka's former self. This scene is brilliant. So emotional and touching. May the Force be with you too😊

    Hear me out, Ahsoka is actually taking place after season 2 of MANDO and before the book of boba fett, so we’ll see Ahsoka with Luke and Grogu at some point 😊 see why:
    As the saga unfolds, I question the imprisonment of Morgan Elsbeth. Could she have remained confined for over three years? To be honest, it seems implausible, especially given Baylan's ease in securing her release.
    This led me to reflect on Rosario Dawson's portrayal of Ahsoka in the early episodes, which mirrored her depiction in the Mando episode where she first appeared.
    The cold, detached demeanor, and her refusal to train Grogu, could stem from a recent parting with Sabine and a sense of failure as a Master.
    Interestingly, she does not mention Luke Skywalker to Mando as someone who could train Grogu, possibly due to ignorance of his existence at a time when rumors of Thrawn's return were swirling, culminating in her confrontation with Morgan Elsbeth.
    Contrast this with Dawson's portrayal of Ahsoka after meeting Anakin with the Ahsoka we saw in The Book of Boba Fett. The similarities are striking. She looks happy, balanced, at peace.
    Hence, I deduce that the Ahsoka series is set during the three years Luke trains Grogu, post-Mando season 2, but pre-The Book of Boba Fett. While Ahsoka appears grey and conflicted in Mando season 2, a later encounter with Mando reveals a more cheerful, resolved character in the book of boba fett.
    Taking into account their camaraderie in The Book of Boba Fett, it is evident that Luke and Ahsoka are well-acquainted. However, the final episode of Ahsoka reveals her ignorance of Palpatine's demise and Anakin's role in it, indicating she believed he succumbed entirely to the dark side. Specifically when she tells Anakin that he will become evil and far more dangerous than anyone could ever imagine. She doesn’t even know that he overcomes darkness because he was redeemed by his son.
    Yet, in The Book of Boba Fett, she is aware of the events. This begs the question: how did she come by this knowledge?
    Taking all these elements into account, I’d be surprised if Luke Skywalker does not make an appearance at some stage. This assumption is reinforced by the interactions between Luke and Ahsoka in 'The Book of Boba Fett,' where they exhibit a familiarity that suggests a shared history.
    This meeting would not only provide Ahsoka with the missing pieces of the puzzle concerning Anakin and Palpatine but also establish the rapport between her and Luke witnessed in 'The Book of Boba Fett.'
    The implications of such a meeting would be monumental. It would not only serve as a pivotal moment in the Star Wars narrative, bridging the gap between two crucial storylines.
    If this is going to happen, it will be absolutely epic.
    Indeed, several other factors bolster this theory:
    -Sabine’s solitude is palpable. She is under the impression that Mandalore and the majority of its inhabitants have been obliterated following the ‘Night of a Thousand Tears.’ This belief suggests that the events of ‘The Mandalorian’ season three have yet to transpire. Sabine is not only mourning the loss of Ezra but also the devastation of her homeland and the presumed annihilation of her people.
    -Ahsoka’s presence on the planet where Luke and Grogu are training is another significant clue. What could have led her to that specific location if not to intersect with their journey?
    -Lastly, the fans’ disappointment regarding the limited insight into Luke and Grogu’s journey in ‘The Mandalorian’ could be intentional. It’s possible that the creators have reserved this narrative for the ‘Ahsoka’ series, providing a more in-depth exploration of their dynamic and development.
    Identified loophole in my own theory 🥺:
    In Mando season 3, the Shadow Council is discussing the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn, suggesting that he’s about to come back. At that time, Grogu and Mando are reunited. So there must be a valid reason to explain why Ahsoka, Luke and Grogu were happily chilling in the book of boba fett after their mission to this “other galaxy”, while Thrawn was planning his return. This can happen in many ways (for example, they all think Thrawn was killed in a battle but he wasn’t, or that they blocked him in a way to prevent him from coming back, etc).

  • @countluke2334
    @countluke2334 Před 9 měsíci

    Well, the fact they didn't use the scene means it is not canon. Perhaps when they thought of that scene, Ahsoka was meant to die, and they later chose not to include the scene and have Ezra save Ahsoka instead. Otherwise, as Yoda knew, the Force is always in motion and the future difficult to see. Even if the Bendu had a vision of the duel between Ahsoka and Vader, he could simply have seen Vader striking her and her disappearing, and mistaken that for her death.
