  • Recorded during the BBC Studio Sessions, Maida Vale 4 Studio, London, UK - October, 28th, 1977.
Written by John Deacon originally from the album "News of the World" (1977). This track appears on the Queen Compilation "On Air" (2016).
    Band Line-up for this track:
    Freddie Mercury: Vocals & Piano
    Brian May: E-Guitar
    Roger Taylor: Drums
    John Deacon: Bass Guitar
(Song first heard in April 1993 reminding me especially this period of time in my life. This song is dedicated to Daniel).
MY PERSONAL REFERENCE TO THIS SONG: I always thought that the song was about me, because there are many similarities between the main character of the song "Sammy" and myself.

This is easily the best recorded version of this song. It disappeared for a while, I don't know why, but now it's back and I am grateful. This is definitely one of my top five Queen songs...John's masterpiece.
