Jose Rafael Valdez Heredia The only downside with V-create Rayquaza was that it was a Japan exclusive event mon that was never released in the west. It’s perfectly legal to transfer, it’s just hard to obtain legitimately to begin with

Gen 5, the most wild meta in all Pokémon.
Even a Pokémon with V Create in a sun team was struggling there.

It's all about the meta. A fire type would always struggle in a rain-centric or sandstorm-centric metagame.

Z celebrate is damn near better than mega, no way +1 Omni boost is worse than +100 in base stats

@Mathew Ricafrente Sadly only used once per battle. Pretty nice concept though but at this point, GameFreak is running out of ideas when it comes to battle mechanics.
@@reinerbazzi9744 Really? Dynamax is basically making the Pokemon become bigger and have "exclusive" moves. Let alone SCALING Pokemon up. Don't get me started on the models bro because you know exactly what I'm about to say. Gigantinax is a different story and it's way better.
Personally, Victini is my favorite Mythical, hell, my favorite Psychic. Extremely cute, yet extremely deadly. I use one pretty regularly on Showdown.
It's so interesting to see a Pokémon that gets better over time without getting an overt buff like a mega, a new ability, a new move, etc. Victini has always had the tools, but the metagame actually shifted to better accomodate it, which is fairly unique.

It annoys me that a Pokemon like Victini never played into the XYZ series of the anime/games.
Because Victini has nothing to do with Kalos. Volcanion,Hoopa and Diancie.

@@trainerrichard6859 Which one are you referring to? Because Volcanion did have something to do with Kalos. And Hoopa was constantly seen around Kalos stealing an entire castle iland hiding it somewhere. And Diancie is a mutation of a native common Pokemon.
@@Nosretep Movies don't count, Gamefreak "gifting" mythical legendary Pokemon is just them trying to tie in with the movies. I'm talking about their actual presences in these games. Hoopa allows access to legendary Pokemon in ORAS but in the Kalos region, it isn't even mentioned once. Volcanion is one of the most bare bone mythical legendary to date! No presence in-game, an entire steam powerplant unused, and the only thing setting it apart from regular Pokemon is its unique typing and signature move. Diance had a few lines of dialogue upon receiving it and a mega evolution, that's it.

@@intellygent-alienking5651 No, mythicals are a different class. They tend to not be catchable in normal gameplay, and require an event to be aquired. They are also registered differently in the pokedex.

LORE wise, victini should be like the perfect setup Pokémon or something, it would like buff all it’s stats massively and then have a u-turn baton pass combo move or something like that. But that would be too OP wouldn’t it?

Man I love Victini, such an adorable Pokemon. It's definitely one of my favorites, possibly even my favorite Pokemon of all time. It's a shame that a lot of it's best moves are event exclusive, especially V-create, that move was clearly made for Victini and it can't even learn the move normally.

Man Victini is a pokemon that has forever left an imprint on my soul. I remember getting on that ship and goin through the event to find Victini and when i first entered the battle, the most amazing pokemon song ever made rang through my ears.
Ive been competing in fighting games for many years now and ever since that fateful day, this has been my go-to song to pump me up before battle.

@@MightyMobileMatt That's true I sometimes forget Victory Star boosts your allies accuracy too. Back before the nerf we would have had smeargle hardly ever missing their Dark Void. If mythicals weren't banned in VGC that is.
That would ensure a top 8 placement and a Dark Void nerf.

Too bad all its good moves are event-exclusive.
In gen 7 OU I use AV Victini on a team with both sun and electric terrain, boosting both it’s V-Create and bolt strike, not to mention being able to tank Toxapex scald without worrying about burns, and easily killing it after a U-turn with the base 190 power bolt strike.
V-shaped violence was an incredible line
Kinda sad, that one Event made Rayquaza a way better V-Create spammer than Victini itself :C
Well, Rayquaza don't have stab on V-Create, so yea, Rayquaza can spam better (because he have a very good Speed) but Victini (especially with Choice Band) have the most strong V-Create thanks to stab
Dany Blue Rayquaza dosent have better speed, he just has way higher and better stats. Give a great Pokémon a near perfect coverage move and of course they will use that to high heaven

Rayquaza’s main advantage with it (besides not being Pursuit weak) is the ability to ignore Rain. It also lures in Steel types thanks to its Dragon/Flying STABs making V-Create very useful.

its not even true. vcreate is the most used move of vic and ray only runs it as a coverage move. dragon ascent is the move ray wants to spam as it doesnt lower its speed and gets stab. used to play ag and i actually very rarely clicked vcreate with ray. not to mention it can miss which vic counters with its ability

One thing I do with Victini on Showdown Doubles is pare it with Contrary Serperior. I have Victini copy Contrary, spam V-Create and Overheat, and then use Stored Power to sweep.

Z-Celebrate Victini is probably one of the most broken things in the OU metagame right now, its almost like hitting the win button and just mowing through the other team.

I used to have a really silly "mono-attack" team. Only real attacking move it used was V-Create, thanks to Assist. Ninetales set up perma sun, Victini provided V-Create, then Spinda, Infernape, Liepard and Purrloin went all in on Assist. Sweeping an opposing team with Choice Band Prankster Purrloin always hitting +1 priority V-Create in the sun is a lot of fun. Of course, the team kind of died to Heatran... (have to wear it down with Covet and Assist, or get a lucky move onto Spinda's Copycat after it's got some Contrary V-Create boosts).

Question, how was/would be this pokemon in doubles? The ability Victory Star buffs team accuracy next to them by 10%. That buffs moves like Sing and Grasswhistle up to 65% which can be pretty nutty- and moves pike Guillotine and Fissure to 40% which isn't as good, but a potential last resort. Run a defensive stall Victini set with Subsitute and Protect, probably Will-O-Wisp and a stab move like V-Create. Then you can sit a teammate next to you like Magnezone with Zap-Cannon or Mega Kangaskhan with Dynamic Punch. Somewhere in your team you could have a Bronzong with Hypnosis or a Shaymin with Grasswhistle in case Victini lasts.

I just remember Victini taking forever for me to catch. I tried to do it as soon as I got to Castelia City but every time no matter how many balls I took with me, I ran out before being able to catch him. It got so bad that I ended up just going back later with a master ball because no matter how many times I tried, he kept escaping the pokeballs lmao
then they gave us one for free. So that sucked.
