    I like the sequence of steps. Very clear indication of which toes and heels are up and which are down. I’m going to give it a try!

    Thanks! At first I was all Bambi legs but then I warmed up doing other stuff learned here (moonwalk, dribble, crazy legs) and it was much easier. I've been doing this spin all along just never from a standstill which looks super cool and is teaching me better control.

      Ahhh the Down Up Down as I call it. It's present in many intermediate and advanced level moves, eg three turns & Mohawks. Sometimes you need some wheels to be 'unweighted' for a moment and that happens on an 'up'.

    • @SkatefreshVideos
      @SkatefreshVideos  Před 2 lety +1

      It's something that improves with time. I never used to get dizzy with spins but as I get older (and do them less) now I get dizzy. The trick is to do just a little bit of practice and when you feel it's enough, do something else (or turn on the spot the other way around). Return later for a little more. over time your endurance of spins will increase.

    which is better, rollerblades or regular quad skates?

    • @SkatefreshVideos
      @SkatefreshVideos  Před 2 lety

      Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. Both have pros and cons. One type is not better than the other, they are just different and work better for different purposes. For example, inlines are better to roll on streets but quads are better for dancing. If you are about to buy your first pair of skates and don't know which one this can help skatefresh.com/product/ebook/

    Hi Asha! I really want to spin more rotations and also faster :) Do you have some tips? Thank you! (I’ve been practicing on my inlines for almost 2 months now and can only do 4-5 spins at a pretty slow pace)

      Sry I have another question Ate Asha! Can I one foot spin on inlines?

    • @SkatefreshVideos
      @SkatefreshVideos  Před 3 lety

      Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. Keep your feet quite close. Folding your arms will help too. You can't one-foot spin on inlines, unless they are specific inlines for figure skating. What you can do on regular inlines is a toe wheely "drawing" a small circle on the floor. The maneuver is known as "cock foot" or "chicken foot" in freestyle slalom. As you see it's not really the kind of spin you do in figure skating, but it still looks great!

      @mikaylapeaguirre5859 Před 3 lety

      @@SkatefreshVideos Thank you!

    • @SkatefreshVideos
      @SkatefreshVideos  Před 2 lety

      Hi Asha here (thanks Sergio for your quick reply). To spin longer and faster you MUST have your weight 50/50% on each toe/heel. If its 45/55% you won't spin smoothly so really try and assess if you are 50/50 or not and work on that (the toe is usually too heavy and the heel is usually too light). Starting to spin with the arms out horizontal is a good way to get your balance and then slowly bring the arms into the centre to increase the speed of rotation. You can bring both arms into the chest or wrap one in front of your body and the other behind your back. Experiment and see which works best.

    I have in lines and problem I have is balance. I can 180, but then I start losing balance and my skates come down.

    • @SkatefreshVideos
      @SkatefreshVideos  Před 3 lety

      Yes spinning is much harder on Inlines as you have to put 50% of your weight on a heel and toe wheel only (on quads you have 2 and 2 so much easier). Just work on building up the revs in 90 degree increments. Keep at it.

  • @IvesGabs
    @IvesGabs Před 2 lety

    any tips for not getting dizzy when spinning? lol

    • @SkatefreshVideos
      @SkatefreshVideos  Před 2 lety +1

      Getting dizzy is normal especially when we start learning to spin. It's something that can diminish over time but the secret is to train your spinning for just a few minutes at a time and then return to repeat this later, rather than doing spin practice for 15 mins straight. Over time your body gets more accustomed to it and you get less dizzy. When I exit a spin I try to then move or transition the other way from the spin which helps to un-dizzy myself quickly afterwards. Good luck!

    I just cannot get the grasp of going up on my heel. I am finding toe spins much easier to learn, the toe/heel stuff just throws me off balance completely.

    • @SkatefreshVideos
      @SkatefreshVideos  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for sharing! Yes the heel feels reluctant and toe toe is easier for some. The trick is to not full straighten the heel only knee but keep that mini bend. Tha's hard while also flexing your ankle and foot upwards! Trying it off skates can really help.
