  • Learn the Moonwalk static or in backwards motion and gain super star status. Asha Kirkby from Skatefresh shows you how with 2 simple positions and concise demonstrations of how to link them on each side.
Moonwalk relies on already being comfortable skating backwards and weight bearing on each leg backwards, so if that's still a challenge check out the recent series of 'How to skate backwards' tutorials for both inline and quad skaters on the channel.

Thank you Asha. Great video. Is this same technic inline skate ?

Yes identical on inlines, just harder to balance in those 2 positions as you have to also control your edge. Try to stay on the centre edge of the support skate each time.

Got any advice for a shy newbie? I did some some roller skating and ice skating when I was younger, and recently got a pair of inline skates because that's something I've always wanted to do (I'm 34 now).Starting to get the speed and balance down, but because I'm really shy,I usually skate at night when there are no people around to watch.
Got any advice for getting over that shyness of public skating?

Most new skaters have a bit of that. While learning they don’t want to be watched too much. But know that you are inspiring others without knowing it. If you keep skating and practicing I’m sure in time you’ll meet other skaters and skating with others is a great way to grow socially and become less shy. Skating gives you a good focus point and talking point. Just keep doing what you like.

@@SkatefreshVideos Thank you for your reply. For some reason I couldn't see your first reply when I clicked the Bell icon, could only read half and it didn't show on here. I've been skating more now and trying to get the braking down before heading out on longer trips, still got a bit of shaky legs when skating, though.

Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. Nope, the dribble is easier.
