I appreciate the video im 21 slowly upgrading my 86 el camino good to have an idea of what to upgrade first. Learning a lot on the way with my friends, youtube sure does help though.
Glad to help, wishing you all the best for the future!
I’m 57 and agree with what you said, we had a great time as kids, I never could afford a hot car growing up but if there was a hood up in the trailer park I was under it and up to my elbows, I had a subscription to HOT ROD and POPULAR HOT RODDING and read each one cover to cover so now I’m buying a 1970 C10 long bed that my son and I can spend time working on and taking to shows and the drag strip and he will be able to enjoy when I’m gone
Sounds like me and you had the same childhood. Great to hear from you. wishing you and your all the best. enjoy the memories you are going to make.
this was a fun watch! thanks
Yes it was
thanks
Good advice.
THANK YOU, Wishing you all the best for the future
AWESOME
Thanks 🤗
Hell yeah when I first got my square body. It wouldn’t even do a burn out in the rain now it’s a Diemond I got a 67, 327 small block punched out 30 over with 54 cc heads and a 480 lift cam and Chevrolet racing rods headers going into 3 inch dolly exhaust it’s fun loves it’s gas but it’s fun. Blew the 350 turbo. Tranny out for the second time I’m switching it over to a 98 four-speed. With overdrive manual transmission.
Nice
THAT IS AWESOME! I am in the process of gathering parts to build one with a 4 speed in it. think it will be a lot of fun. Wishing you all the best for the future.
Back in your day did you do valve seals with a rope ?😂
Yep
seen it done i used an air chuck when still on the engine. Have a great day
I love you talking about getting dirty with hands on experience I did the same thing 😂
Yeah It was the only way for us to learn then. Great times and life long Friends. Wishing you all the best. Happy Holidays
What's up Uncle Buck !
Hey brotha, I just picked up an awesome 85 GMC K2500. I plan on using it to take the kids camping and just driving around town as a daily. Would all this still apply for me if I wanted to get her purring nice ?
I'm new to Small Block Chevys so sorry for my ignorance. Would you be able to provide a little more info in regards to the basic tune up you were talking about ?
Thanks !
plugs, wires, cap rotor, fuel filter air filter, set the timing and the carb. Wishing you all the best for the future
Thanks brotha !

you are very welcome
Love your site! I’m thinking of replacing the original Q-jet with a TBI unit on my 1980 since the TBI was the most advanced for original squares. What do you think?
Nice idea
Go for it! Keep me updated i would like to know how its going.
a lot of the tbi systems self learn but manually tuning it is more precise to your motor a lot of people expect full self learning
