- SOWETO, South Africa - The legacy of Nelson Mandela is constantly invoked in South African politics, and with most of the votes counted from Wednesday’s general election, it likely has helped his party, the African National Congress, to extend their 25-year run as the country’s ruling party.
But a controversial new opposition party has started to chip away at their dominance: The upstart Economic Freedom Fighters party rose from relative obscurity to win nearly 11 percent of the vote this election season. They’ve done so, in part, by positioning themselves as the only party that could finish what Mandela started, all the while constantly attacking the very same ANC that he used to lead.
VICE News went to South Africa before the vote to find out how changing attitudes about racial inequality played out in the presidential race.

Only 22% of agricultural land is in the hands of white farmers, not 70% as stated in this video. The majority of land belongs to the state 4:35. Why are there so much focus on the minority of land of the minority of people? Why not go after the agricultural land belonging to the state?
South Africa is on its way becoming a second Zimbabwe with a communist/Marxist/socialist government. The poor people think they are going to get everything, but the state wants everything for themselves and all private citizens of all colours (including the blacks) from their right to own land.
Look it's things like this that give us a bad name. 30% is owned by "individuals". And though 70% is indeed owned by the state, its not as you claimed ägricultural"land. It's mostly made up of Metro and Municipal land. A Massive percentage of actual Agricultural land is indeed owned by white farmers. Inddeed 71% of "rural farmholds and farms "are owned by White people. Only about 3% of farms are owned by black individuals (IRR study in response to State land audit - March 2018)
I have family who are white land owners, I personally know people who have been affected by farm murders, but please stop spreading misinformation. It devalues our cause.

In my personal opinion, as long as everyone gets obsessed with the land owners' skin colour, racism will still exist in ZA issues will never end. Land repartition is not the solution at whole, but improving life quality in ZA with better jobs, public services and security. My best wishes to all ZA people of any races from Mexico.

The outcome is few other countries will want to invest in these countries since they can't be trusted to honor their legal financial commitments. Also, the same world sanctions that got rid of apartheid can be used if a genocide occurs with SA's minority group. Sanctions do seem to work rather well. SA has 40% unemployment as it is, so that would make it much worse. Just pointing out reality.
Was colonialism legal? Was global land theft legal? If we're talking about legalities regarding possession, make sure the people writing the laws don't benefit from land theft.

While the government is waiting for someone to buy the land, the land will not be used and seeds will not be planted. What happens when seeds are not planted? mass starvation. 99% of South Africans will get nothing from farm seizures, except higher food prices as the food supply decreases.

Why isn't that farmer able to run a profitable farm? He has all the land he could need, but is still asking for more handouts? It's not sustainable to take all the land from people who are making a profit (and paying taxes) and give it to people who require government assistance to run it. Where does that government assistance come from if there's no one making profits left to tax?

What seems to be hidden from view so purposefully is history.
