Sigarda in most cases is ridiculous. All you really need is indestructible and then she is in your face and a serious problem. I have a Sigarda Enchantress Voltron. Easy to get going, fun to pilot, hard to slow, even harder to remove, with draw engines and playing multiple lands per turn. It can get very nasty, great devotion yields great reward indeed.

I run a Zurgo, Helmsmasher Voltron by suggestion of a friend. REALLY fun, and definitely packs a punch. He's already such a great starting point with 7 power, Haste, AND Indestructible (so long as it's your turn), plus the fact he swings each turn FORCES your opponent to deal with the threat or die trying. Only played it 1v1 so far, but I'm looking forward to playing "Zurgotron" in my play group. Just as soon as my work schedule works in my favor...
Hey can you post a deck list? I've been thinking about making a zurgo and a yasova commander deck
Cards that give you more combat phases, or better yet extra turns, allow you to shorten your clock. Relentless assault, world at war savage beating, seize the day etc are all great to kill players in two turns.
Bins Wanger giving double strike is essentially the same thing and often times cheaper
I made an interesting Voltron with Yasova Dragonclaw where she takes creatures from everyone to help her attack or to block. I think it can be pretty good.
Quinn Heppe I made a similar deck but used the taken creatures to sac. Combined with cards like treasonous act and act of aggression it gets pretty crazy.
I have been thinking about a deck like this for a while, do you mind sharing a deck list?
one of my favorite yet notably underrated evasion cards is Teleportal. while it is sorcery speed, for two mana you can get that huge amount of commander damage in to win the game. Its usually best in narset or shu yun strategies.
is it weird to watch this two years after it was uploaded? Still pretty relevant for people trying to understand the concept and play style of voltron, as far as I am concerned.

That tiny shu yun
I have a voltron Varolz deck that works slightly different from a regular deck as i scavenge creatures instead of just using equipment to deal big damage. However, I completely agree with the "scary" thing you were talking as typically it's me vs the table. Still though it's a lot of fun as it speeds up the game and it forces them to concentrate about their turns.
People thought my Mardu pillow fort deck was voltron because I like to use Urza lands so now I'm turning it into one. Thanks past J'n'J this is needed.
Quick request for a EDH archetype series: I would love to hear and episode or two on Group Hug/Slug. Zedruu the Greathearted, Phelddagrif, and Braids, Conjurer Adept are a few commanders that come to mind, but I'm fairly certain that's not the extent of the format.
I have a weird voltronish/combo Narset deck where besides her having hexproof i use spells like boros charm (which can also give double strike) that protects not only her but my equipments/auras as well from board wipes and removal. Long road home and Otherwordly journey exile Narset and return her at the end of turn so she is completely protected by board wipes and edict effects.They can also exile a blocker if that's necessary if i don't have any evasive auras/equips on her.
I LOVE my Bruna Voltron deck.
My very first commander deck was a Thrun voltron deck. I found that using the umbra cards (Boar, Spider, Snake) were great "second life" type cards.
I building an atogatog Voltron deck and I'm gonna check on using some umbras. Thanks for the info

Instant speed evasion tricks for Voltron?
* Power Matrix - Gives your Commander +1/+1, Flying, First Strike, and Trample until end of turn.
* Key to the City - Despite having to discard the pros outweigh the cons.
* Excavator - Give your Commander a landwalk ability based on what basic land you sac or any basic land type with Prismatic Omen.
* Nature's Blessing - Similar to Power Matrix except your Commander can gain a +1/+1 counter or Banding.
I am currently making a Jorn, God of Winter Vultron deck. Jorn wants to attack anyways to untap snow permanents, might as well suit him up so he doesn't get killed and gets in that damage. Plus I don't think a lot of people expect Jorn to be Vultron. 😇

I think the biggest drawback to voltron commanders is the fact everyone knows immediately what your gameplan is. I find the best way to try and overcome this, is to have several other creatures in your deck that can be "voltroned up" if youe commander continually keeps getting handled. Creatures with double strike or infect are perfect for filling this role.

Makes me remember when I had platinum angel and whispersilk cloak at an FNM and the opponent lost cause they got milled out.
My favorite voltron commander is molimo or multani yavimaya avatar because what boost its atk you play lands XD
shu yun voltron is INSANE and so fun to play when they die turn 5!
I play atarka voltron 8D flyi g trample double strike for 12 damage without a single buff? I'm in! Also, it looks expensive, but you have stuff to work around it. Like dragonspeaker shaman, zendikar ressurgent etc. It's very easy to have her out by turn 4-5 and start swinging. And you can kill someone in 2 hits.
What's your opinion on Skullbriar? He's a pretty unique Voltron Commander.
I'm running a isumaru voltron deck. It's pretty funny.
i have a zurgo helmsmasher voltron deck and my secret weapon is assault suit every turn each opponent gains control of zurgo they must attack and he indestructible and can not be sacrificed

Narset is my Voltron commander. I've won on turn 3 many times with her. She's just so good.

angelic destiny doesn't go back to your hand because your commander never dies unless you send it to the graveyard
Really fun video. But it would be a lot easier to read the cards if they were facing front instead of rotating at an angle.
Don't forget Nahiri on the voltron strategy! She might not kill a player on turn 5-6 most of the times unless you get a really good draw, but She'll always make sure you have a creature to equip things to while giving you free equips, she protects herself with tokens. If your precious equipment gets destroyed she can pull it out of the graveyard and if the game goes long you can end it with a +5/+5 double strike indestructible weapon.
I also don't need to say why having nahiri and a skullclamp on the board or a mentor of the meek scares people.

Hero Zero Exava doesn't have any inherent voltron synergies. Her abilities say go wide with hasty creatures more than go tall with me

the first sigarda can be a mean voltron commander. can't be edict'ed like most voltron commanders and has hexproof AND flying. i had someone in my playgroup who played her as the commander. was the dumbest thing ever, i hated it. now im trying to build it lol
