Ein wunderbarer Marsch zum Start in den Morgen... Da kommt man gleich in Schwung für den Tag.

Hier und heut ist so ein verregneter grauer Tag, dass ich am liebsten mehr klagen als singen wollte 'Ich armes welsches Teufli, bin müde vom Marschieren, Marschieren...' Doch dann hörte ich den Hessischen Fahnen-Präsantier-Marsch und konnte nicht wiederstehen, in Gedanken fröhlicher und fröhlicher werdend, mitzumarschieren.
Ja, so manche Klänge vermögen das Gemüt zu erhellen.
Hier lächelt ab und an ganz zaghaft die Sonne durch eine dicke graue Wolkendecke.
Ich wünsche dir einen Freitag gefüllt mit weiteren fröhlichen Momenten.

Good morning Dr. Ludwig and all fans here. It's a beautiful march that I did not know. But this gave me the opportunity to quickly read the biography of Ernst Louis, landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt and a little about the history of Hesse (and even the 30 years war). I remember this painting of the ambush scene in the battle of Trenton. Surprisingly enough, the King of Prussia, Frederick Carolus Rex (AKA: Frederick the Great), complimented George Washington's maneuver strategy throughout the battle when news reached Prussia that the Hessians were defeated by the Continental Army. This happened despite the superiority of the Hessians. Thank you, Herr Dr. Ludwig, for your humbleness as you have shared this part of history with us. As usual, I loved the music.

Wunderbare marsch! The painting is by US artist Don Troiani, scene from the Battle of Trenton (New Jersey, 26 December 1776, American Revolutionary War), and the mortal wounding of the Hessian commander, Oberst (Col.) Johann Rall (or Rahll) at the head of grenadier regiment. He is buried somewhere in/near Trenton in an unmarked grave, acc. to Wikipedia.
When I heard this, I felt proud and wanted to fight for Germany.
The Hessians in the painting are fighting for Britain.

The house in the background is US style, so the picture is about the Hessian troops who were send to the USA to fight in the American Revolutionary War. But the marsh is ca. 100 years older.

Battle of Trenton by don troiani. It’s when Washington crossed the Delaware and defeated the hessians.
What the previous responder of your comment said to you is correct. To be specific, this is an ambush scene where the Hessians made a mistake by marching into the town where Continental soldiers were waiting for them. It was a plan that was made by George Washington and his generals.
