      I didn't know that was a thing but I actually built a similar deck just for fun. 1st turn Glistener Elf, 2nd turn Revenge of the Hunted and Giant Growth for 10 trampling Infect. Throw in Mutagenic Growth and Invigorate, and you can hit for 16 poison on turn 2:)

    The 2013 deck features Energy Field and Rest in Peace, a very spicy combo. Energy Field prevents all damage dealt to you but gets sacrificed when any card goes to your graveyard. However, with Rest in Peace out, cards will never go to your graveyard. That means you'll never take damage, which means your opponents are helpless unless they can destroy enchantments. Plus the mainboard Rest in Peace comes with the upside of hosing graveyard-based strategies or any cards seeking to abuse Deathrite Shaman.

    You should do a series called "Nizza-pizza", where you build a Modern or Legacy deck and give us the "ingredients" to those decks. Meaning the deck list. I bet it would be really fun and drive more viewer's to your videos.

    Someone could explain me better how the machanics works? How do you demonstrate that the miracle card you are playing is the first drew in the turn and not a card that you had in hand before?

    • @arditi69

      @@NizzahonMagic It still would have been nice if you touched upon it. You've discussed Dredge decks that didn't even run a single card with the dredge mechanic in your Dredge video. I'm sure Bonfire would easily be one of the best Miracle cards using your scoring system.

    • @NizzahonMagic
      @NizzahonMagic  Před 2 lety +1

      @@kh1129 The difference is that the dredge decks in that video are direct descendants of actual dredge decks and used the same type of strategy.
      Bonfire decks were not at all like actual Miracle decks. They just ran a card WITH miracle. They didn't manipulate the library to abuse them, which is key.

    My biggest question is, why didn't Legacy decks swap out the banned top for Mirri's Guile? It's less flexible, sure, but it's the constant Top effect, that lets you still control the top of your deck, without even needing to add more mana.

    • @NizzahonMagic
      @NizzahonMagic  Před 2 lety +2

      That is a pretty huge downgrade. It could help set up miracles, but it wasn't very good with counterbalance, since you want to activate it in response to a spell. Top could also draw for you. Going Green also wasn't a great option for a deck that was UW control at it's core.

  • @kennydarmawan13
    @kennydarmawan13 Před 2 lety +1

    I actually had an idea to revise the miracle mechanic.
    It's called Call. It's like Miracle, except it doesn't have to be the first card drawn, and that you can only cast it that way once a turn.

    • @kennydarmawan13
      @kennydarmawan13 Před 2 lety

      @@kennydarmawan13 so we invent a much more unintuitive version of an already existing, clean mechanic? xD Plus, where is the flavor? "Call"? I JUST learned that you can cast sorcery miracles at instant speed if you draw it during your opponent's turn, this makes me fucking angry. People at the LGS when I first started playing told me I couldn't >:-(
    Until just now I thought you couldn't cast sorcery miracles as instants, it literally changes everything, what the fuck, magic.
    I literally don't put some in my EDH decks because of it.
    It doesn't even mention this on gatherer, so I never had reason to question it.

    In an online system such as Arena or MTGO I'd say it's probably fine because the system probably "checks" that it was indeed the first card drawn within a turn. In real life this mechanic seems seriously flawed, because what's honestly keeping a person from lying about it being the first card drawn within a turn - absolutely nothing you're hoping that the player has honest integrity, and good sportsmanship.
