Now all nontoken ETB effects are 'landfall', and proc twice. I did a maskwood nexus combo to summon my deck, with the killer being skemfar shadow cleric( think thats the name ), where you choose one of the abilities, either gain x life ( x is amount of creatures you control that share a type ), or do x damage to each opponent. Nutty damage, 4 greenwardens will get ya 5 procs per shadow cleric, 4 shadow clerics entering along with the rest of your creature. Big boi stack

    Feels good when you already know and play half of these
    Here's another one. I play it in my Dimir Mill Drain 60 inspired by making mill damage work after seeing how awful Arc-Slogger is. Perfect Hand win-scenario against any number of opponents. Turn 1: Land, Altar of the Brood. Turn 2: Land of another color, Mindcrank. Turn 3: Land, Duskmantle Guildmage. Turn 4: Before playing land, Pay 3, activate Duskmantle Guildmage's ability, play land. Altar of the Brood triggers and starts the combo. Infinite mill, infinite drain on all opponents. Turn 4 win.

    Here's a sweet, mono green combo that helped me to victory last night. Apex Altisaur + Heroic Intervention + Concordant Crossroads + Shaman of Forgotten Ways. It takes a lot of mana lol but you cast Apex Altisaur. Hold priority and in response to the Altisaur's fight trigger on the stack, you cast Heroic Intervention. That makes your Altisaur Indestructible and it fights all of your opponents creatures to the death. Once your opponents creatures are dead, you just activate the Shamans ability to make everyone's life totals become 0 except yours, and you win. You don't need Concordant Crossroads of the Shaman has been on the field long enough for the summoning sickness to wear off. Otherwise you'll need it to activate the Shaman the turn you cast it.

    My favorite (which admittedly doesn't work well in Commander the way most of these do) is Curse of Exhaustion + Knowledge Pool. If they can't get rid of an enchantment or artifact without casting from their hand. Otherwise, they are pretty much locked down.

    • @isaiahwelch8066
      @isaiahwelch8066 Před 2 lety

      Actually, the card you want is a creature that prevents opponents from casting from all other zones but the hand, and then using Eidolon of Rhetoric from being unable to cast more than one spell.
      The key to get around Knowledge Pool is to cast from the graveyard, from the Command Zone, or, if using Vizier of the Menagerie, from the library. You can also cast spells from exile, such as with Jeska's Will, or the creature that allows you to cast instants or sorceries at your upkeep for free.

  • @Egryn
    @Egryn Před 2 lety +4

    You know one of the wittier combos I played against was Sneak attack, the Penumbras, and Lifeline.
    Sneak attack the penumbras in for 1 mana each, then sacrifice them.
    This makes a copy of the card as it goes to the grave yard.
    Because there is a creature on the field, Lifeline triggers; bringing back the penumbra.
    You now have two penumbras for the price of one and you paid only one red mana for it as well.
    What makes the deck super fun is that you load the deck up with burn spells and penumbras.
    You play your turn, Sneak attack the creatures in with haste, attack with the penumbras, and then copy them. End your turn bring them back. Next turn attack again but this time you burn your own creature sending it to the graveyard. You get to create another copy and bring the penumbras back onto the field; UNTAPPED!
    You you can now defend with your penumbras, kill them again on your opponent’s turn, create another copy, and return it at the end of their turn; UnTapped!!!
    You then get to play your turn with a penumbra that doesn’t have summoning sickness... and guess what you do.
    Truly a sick deck.

      I'm interested in this combo because I've thought about making a Knowledge Pool deck before to really induce chaos to a game. How do these cards actually interact though? • @randomguy6680
      @randomguy6680 Před 2 lety

      @@soultpp Using the pool is not optional, so whenever they try to cast a spell (during their turn), the pool trigger.
      Then they can cast a spell from the pool while the first spell is still on the stack before putting said first spell in the pool. Or at least they would if Teferi did not stop the freecasting as it happens while the stack is not empty (so technically at instant speed).
      So they can only add spells to the pool but never successfully cast any spell.

    • @soultpp
      @soultpp Před 2 lety

    The madcap deals damage to you equal to cards revealed but with lifelink on it it’s effectively no life lost.

    Want to just combo win instead? Add Vito!
    If you didn’t even have an artifact in your deck this combo still works. You reveal your whole deck and shuffle and deal “damage” = to cards revealed. But automatically gain life after taking it.

    Fun list. There are a few tweaks you can make to some so that they're either stronger (ie. Star of Extinction alongside Boros Reckoner/Stuffy Doll/Brash Taunter or whatever self-harmer you're using; Final Parting instead of Gifts Ungiven so it stays in black and isn't using such a notoriously strong card), but overall fun stuff.
    "What are the odds of losing a million coin flips?". Zero. Technically not, but it's so many decimal points below 1.00 that any sort of rounding at all effectively puts it at zero.
    If you're looking for a combo for your next list that's quite good at controlling games, Blood on the Snow, plus a creature that costs 6 or less and gives a sorcery (or any) card back from the graveyard when it enters the battlefield. Options are Eternal/Timeless Witness for green, Archaeomancer for blue, Ardent Elementalist for red. There are of course other viable creature options - Shipwreck Dowser (5 mana, blue) offers a more aggressive option due to having prowess, and Kairi, the Swirling Sky (6 mana, blue) can sort of do it too - though in its case, it relies on a dies trigger (but also gets 2 cards back for you, and is a 6/6 flying body with ward 3, so an awesome threat and good value). The combo is simple - Blood on the Snow. Get back one of the aforementioned creatures. That creature gets back Blood on the Snow. Now, unless your opponent can intervene, you always have access to a sweeper.
    This setup also works with Sublime Epiphany - in the case of Epiphany, you clone the creature in question - when the creature token is made, it gets you back the Sublime Epiphany. That makes UBx variants decent as it can include both of these.
    And now to go off on the Sublime/creature that can get Sublime back tangent - this can also be used to setup a lock with Archon of Emeria. Mana requirements aside, if you can set up the board with the creature-that-gets-an-instant back, Archon of Emeria (only allows players to cast one spell per turn) and have a Sublime in hand, you essentially have the tools to counter every spell your opponent casts.

      @@hillchicken612 Yes they are both there and when you gain priority, state is checked and the counters errase themselves (you physically remove both counters from the card). Then, you can use Glen elendra again. +1/+1 counters and -1/-1 are the only counters, where this kind of interaction is possible.
      This trick is also used in the current meta BR goblin pauper deck, where you sac putrid goblin into skirk prospector, but casting first day of class before.

    Enchanted Evening + Archon of Sun's Grace
    Archon has a constellation trigger to make pegasus tokens. Enchanted Evening makes all permanents enchantments, including the tokens created by the Archon. This gives you infinite Archon tokens and infinite constellation triggers until either piece leaves the battlefield.

    Maralen of the Mornsong was from the set where the elves were radical different from typical elves, they all had horns . Check out the Lorwyn block. It is pretty old. I loved the setting but the block (which was Lorwyn and Morntide sets) was super unpopular. I think it was just after the first Ravica block so that was a difficult bunch of sets to follow.
