I’m so thankful for this video. I live in the Bronx, and my neighbor was killed by gunfire 2 years ago. I also see people using drugs in the street and on subway platforms. I find myself avoiding going outside and taking public transportation. Luckily I have a caring therapist.

I wish they would replace gun violence with the more accurate term: gang violence

I know multiple routes to each place I routinely visit. I used to do all my errands between 7am and 10am, because it seemed fewer violent people were out. I moved away from the violent community decades ago, but some of my patterns still remain.

Damn.... my entire city probably has ptsd. Which just contributes to more trauma and violence. 😔

Things should be done indeed.... But majorly by the government. You can nit have people not to walk freely around their block.

Unfortunately, this hypervigilance carries over even after leaving the dangerous neighborhood- that's how you know it's PTSD. It's not rational nor only in relation to the current surrounding environment.
I hear fireworks, I duck behind the furniture.

Let's not forget all the fatherless children getting beat by their single mom. Or the random boyfriend mom brings home and makes him her live in boyfriend in less then a week. What about the pathetically desperate women who prefer thugs because their easy to control. Gun violence is only a small piece. Maybe avoid black on b crime. Maybe that. Maybe stop condoning babies for benefits

@@LunarBreeze her comment comes from someone who does not understand the lives of the Black community. Some of us can only afford rent which is in poor neighborhoods.

So, your brain says people who can afford higher rent choose to live around violence. Go learn about the Black community. We have many uneducated unemployable members trying to survive our inner-city streets. They come from generation after generation of the same type thinking dating back to slavery. America likes to act like the way they treated Black ancestors does not show today. Just start with the money they stole from us. Zero generational wealth. No houses to hand down in the family because they forbid us from owning. Forbidden education too. Hung if found reading. If you're Black, go learn. If you're White, go learn!

How about paying for me to move and my rent? God, Rebecca is tone deaf on so many levels to so many different communities at once it’s disappointing.
