Doug’s a genius, creating a car auction website so he can gain access to just about any car he could possibly want
Doug’s the type of guy to put a ruler under his pillow to see how long he slept
Not only that, but he seems to purposely advertise only rare/one of a kind vehicles that car enthusiasts FOMO into buying at top dollar, which means more commission for him. Very smart indeed.
Exactly, plus that website has the cars I really want someday.
Its the other way around, hes using his subscribes to advertise the and drawn in the occasional recommend person. He doesn't have to pay a cent for ads, a matter of fact the ad pays him.
The dome hepot is a funny name 😂 but yea Doug’s a genius
Only OGs will remember that Doug used to own a Ferrari 360.
remember the pick up vid lol
@@mtnvalley9298 Wonder if the wife has asked him to bring it down lol
How could anybody forget. He flogged the living crap out of that car for content lol.
Now if only Doug review the 360 Modena
It's a part of Doug Lore along with 'bumper to bumper warranty'
In my opinion this is one of the best looking Ferrari cars ever. The styling of these were so smooth and subtle.

Absolutely love the 360. Miss those days for cars. Everything seemed to be cooler back then.
Me too. 360 Challenge kinda reminded me a lot to the car from NFS HOT PURSUIT 2.
@@purwantiallan5089 yes exactly. The vibes were immaculate in that game and I adore the 360

Owner here. A correction Doug. The car is called Challenge Stradale, not 360 Challenge Stradale, and Ferrari actually get antsy if you add "360". The reason for this is that this is the only model that was NOT a road model raceified, but a race car roadified. The CS is literally a Challenge car minimally modified for the road. That's why Ferrari designate it Challenge Stradale, (challenge Street). All subsequent specials retained the number. 430 Scuderia, 458 speciale, etc :)
This is a very cool piece of information!
He better change it before he gets a C&D
@@-Sean_ We'll have it wrapped some audacious color so they come to us before Doug
Wrong ! The Challenge Scuderia came at the end of the 360’s production. It is a raceified version of an existing road model. Call it what you want, but it is what it is , a Ferrari 360 with some factory stripes and other cosmetics. Wow ?
Oh you think your car is cool huh? I drive a Saab 😌 my car cost $2500 cash 😌
That rear mesh panel around the lights also made engine temps much better!
I don't know if anyone of you notice that doug only uses period correct photos while showing a different or reference model , like you see in 1:32 , this photo looks like this was taken back in 2000's and also brings the feel of the time ....
Yep! I think he prioritises using official press photos, then if he can't find any decent enough to edit into the video, he likely turns to period-correct photos instead.
@@kbhasi yes. The 360 Challenge Stradale is luxurious.
I believe they're all press photos, taken when the car was launched. Much easier to use those (for CR strikes purposes). And yes, I do appreciate it when Doug uses cool, period correct photos in these videos. Just the little attention to detail that I love.
Makes it look like those Gm concept cars
I took a lot of inspiration from the Stradale's stylings when building up my MR2. The wheels, big open vents, black rear panel, and duck tail. Such a beautifully designed Ferrari.
Lanzhu Zhong also loves that Ferrari.
My dad used to race Ferrari challenge back in the day. He raced the 360 and the 430. These two cars will always hold a special
a place in my heart ❤
my god I hated that game 😂
@@fortheloveofnoise9298 I think he means real life ferrari challenge, not the game 😂 but that game was awesome
@@F80MGod i played that game sometimes. Man Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli is great for both PS2 and 3 although the PS2 version has half of the cars on track.

You saying back in the day makes me feel old. 😂
There's a Pharmacy and Laboratory owner in my town here in Puerto Rico that daily drives one since the car was brand new. The patina of the car at this stage is just insane to see bur I love it all those years later of not being a garage queen
This exact same spec by the way.
All the really subtle body changes, I feel make the car very unique, sets the car off so well!

Yes. Kinda overly enthusiastic sometimes.
Absolutely totally incredible that you could ramble on and on for nearly half an hour and not mention this car's best feature which it does better than almost every car. THE SOUND it makes!
Still my favorite modern Ferrari. Such a beautiful car!!! Doesn’t matter if it’s not the fastest. People get so wrapped up in how fast cars are and the HP wars. We’ve forgotten about how amazing they drive.

Even beyond that the new cars aren't even that nice to drive because none of them have steering feel.
First Doug buys his dream CGT, then he does a video on a 360 CS. Amazing. Would love to hear your thoughts on the 996.2 GT3!
As someone who was 11 years old in 2004 this is, I think understandably, one of my favourite Ferraris ever. I will have the biggest grin on my face if I ever see one of these in person out on the road. Really enjoyed this review!

The 360. One of my most favorite Ferraris ever!
I’ve never been a huge Ferrari fan, but the 360 has always been one of the most beautiful cars in my mind. A 360 with a gated manual is easily on my dream car list.
Exactly
I am waiting for the video when Doug says THIS! Is my new warehouse and it’s full of my new cars! Thanks to Cars and Bids! Hard work pays off.
Nice review there Doug
Drove my buddy's in 06, crazy thing. Very uncomfortable, mainly due the road noise. It really needed carpets... but that friggin' v8 behind your ear is amazing, we did manage to get us and 2 sets of golf clubs in!

The 360 Challenge Stradale and the 458 speciale are 2 of my favorite special edition Ferraris. The 488 Pista doesn't have the same legendary status because they produced it in very large numbers.

Nevermind the production numbers the Turbos are why the Pista isn't legendary
Love that doug’s car is just sitting in the backround while he’s filming hahahaha
I love how when Doug is sitting in the interior you can see his new E450 alterrain in the background
The red is really nice, but I think I still prefer it in silver even 20 years later. 18 year old me was all about the 360 CS, worked at Brumos in Jacksonville and got to drive all kinds of wild Porsche/Mercs at the time.
im a fan of the blue
i personally have a soft spot for the white.. it just looks so clean, but silver definitely is my second choice.
I remember the "Brumos" name listing a dupont magazine in the early 2000s
The f430 looks great too
@@legitbanana6252 I like the Tour de France blue also. I’m just afraid if I get a non red car would I ever be able to sell it
I’m still amazed by this car. It looks extremely raw, but surprisingly is very pleasant even on long drives. Seats are great, suspension is fantastic and somehow there’s not so much road noise inside. After 3 hours in 991 GT3RS I wanted to leave and catch a bus, while in CS even after 5 hours it was still quite enjoyable :)
Also the 430 looks like a better version of this
Nice! Well said
My cousin has both the 360 stradale and the GT3 RS i think it's a 2007 model. I happen to have driven both i much prefer the GT3 RS and thought it's a better all around every day drive. Interesting. Check my video of his collection
@@garycastronova7939 Could be the difference in generations - 991 vs 997
@@garycastronova7939 I don’t know about 997, but 991 is a fantastic track weapon, however on the road it’s not so great . Especially long drives on the highway- you have to drive either under 130kph or over 160kph. Otherwise engine noise will rip your head 🙃
Doug you forgot one quirk, the prancing horse on the gas cap that is unique to the CS. 😆
As a 26 year old, this brings me back to visiting the New York Auto Show around the time when it was revealed/new. It's insane to think this car came out 20 years ago already! It almost worries me about how different things are going to be in another 20 years..... And it also reminded me that Doug needs to get his hands on the 2004 Chrysler ME Four Twelve concept car.
What a treat, 26 as well. Never saw it when it first dropped
Doug about to make 360 CS prices go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Fingers crossed
Ratarossa solved the stripe thing once and for all. He ordered a replacement vinyl from Marinello for his Stradale Spider build.
I had the same feeling when I drove a 355 with the F1 box. I am a manual-only owner, and the F1 box is really exciting for a paddle car. It still feels mechanical and raw despite not rowing your own gears.
The F355 has a very different f1 box than any of the later ones, so it is especially raw and mechanical. I prefer the final evolutions of the f1 style boxes myself.
Guy on my street has owned one since new. My fav amongst all the limited edition V8 models. Stunning car!

your older 360 was really nice as well as your video of living with a race car, you also forgot about the f40 competizione
As always great review also with cars & bits background is good too! Idea: Review the prices of the reviewed cars after a year, 5, 1o years, which would be a great content for the end of the year.
The 360 as well as the 430 Challenge Stradale/Scuderia sounds amazing when they pass you on the Autobahn at 250km/h (155mph) and oh boy do they sound great compared to newer Ferraris. I i still see both of them (of course only a few Challenge Stradale/other special Models) regulary around Frankfurt and Munich here in Germany. They look and sound really great. I wonder how other Ferraris will age regarding their Design.

This car wheel fitment is PERFECT. Wheel size, tire size, wheel well gap. Perfect
Agreed
Agreed, the stock 18" wheels on a 360 are a big part of what dates it, they just look anemic. Just changing them to CS or 430 wheels makes a big difference.
Gotta love Ferrari😍😍😍great video! Keep up the great work 💪
Didn't anticipate that the Challenge Stradale was this much coolar/more special. I'm not a particularly big Ferrari fan but there's something about this one.

Timeless beauty!
The bumpers, side skirts, wheels and ride height make this so much better looking than the standard 360. This thing could use some wheel spacers or wider wheels though.
Doug's the only one who can advertise for the same thing in every video and I don't get annoyed by it. "Caaaarrrs and bids!"

1:16 Excellent “Alright!” From Doug
Doug I have to say you give the most thorough review of every car you do. Always honest about it. I'd would take your car recommendations right to the dealership if I was buying a new vehicle. You are literally now an authority on the subject matter. From the guy who had a CZcams channel who drove around looking for nice cars to take pictures of to you today. You have really made something out of yourself in the car world and larger world as well.
The 360 and the 575 are such simple designs but so elegant and beautiful (both designed in the 90s I think?). Modern cars' designs are so overcomplicated. Also the Top Gear review on this car was great, back then this car was new and now it's a classic.
Agreed! The subtlety of the spoiler is a perfect example. Now, most production performance cars have DTM wings!!

A great set of videos to watch is over on Rataross’s channel where he turns a 360 Spider into a Challenge Stradale Spider which Ferrari never made. One of the most interesting commissions he’s done.

Dougs the type of guy to be the best automotive youtuber
It would be fun to see a video of car designs from the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's that have aged the best. This 360 is certainly one of them.
@FrankStephensondesign channel has FANTASTIC content along these lines. Frank designed the F430 (and MANY other legendary cars we all know and love).
I had a drive in one of these Challenge Stradale's back in 2006...on the Fiorano test track near Maranello. The test driver showed off the performance of that car, along with a ride in the Enzo. It was a wet track with a slight fog...so I was a bit nervous, to say the least. As a joke, I told the driver I had been to the Porsche test track the previous year and he didn't need to impress me. He smiled...and we were off. We did pass the prototype Maserati GranTurismo with its grill, lights, and certain design elements covered in black tape. I remember seeing that car early the following year, at the Geneva Car Show. I was in a management leadership course at the time, spending the day with the F1 team. We were a partner in the F1 program with Ferrari, so it was quite a special week with a surprise trip (4 private jets) to Bologna on Wednesday, leaving Lausanne at 0430 by bus to the GVA private airport. Had sessions with Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, et al. Great memory.
Always a good day when Doug uploads.
One of my go-to's when playing racing games. Is it the fastest in it's class? I don't care. I just want to hear the engine.
Absolutely the same here. It's just right. Not too fast. Not too slow. Just right.

I have heard of people who modified their regular 360s to look like this. Did that ever happen ? I heard this a lot back when Doug made his 360 videos I saw people in the comments asking if he would get a new bumper and stripe to make it look like the Challenge Stradale.
I just don't think a Ferrari owner would mod their car. Also having a regular 360 is already enough of a status symbol. The only people who care that you have a Challenge Stradale would know if it was a real one or not.
I mean plenty of Ferrari owners mod their cars. The challenge is a lot cooler looking than a standard modena too
I saw one dealership have one exact you described
@@d4vekoz I was going to mention it in my comments, but I swear to god I once saw somewhere online a 360 that was modded to look like the challenge Stradale
There is loads around , some full conversions some , bumpers , skirts and wheels. Rattarossas black one isn’t a real one either
No blacked out body parts, no turdbo, no unnecessary shit that weighs a ton and no 'look at me everyone I’m the meanest kid on the playground' look.
This car perfectly captures everything that people with at least a semblance of taste miss in cars these days.
Well said wildcat
The 360 brings me back to the days of Bam Margera and CKY, the Mischief videos, the first Fast and Furious, loads of racing games... Even though I didn't have my license yet it was a great time to be a car enthusiast.
It feels radically different because the 360 Challenge Stradale was not based on the 360 Modena. It was based on the 360 Challenge. What you have there is a road-legal version of a challenge racing car.
Something worth mentioning when doing a review.

Early 2000s Ferraris have such an iconic look. Both futuristic and vintage looking simultaneously
Man, I miss Doug's old Ferrari 360.
Imagine if he reviews it now.
Maybe its an age thing but the the 355, the 360 and 430 were just perfect looking! I find the more recent cars a little confusing
Seeing Doug's new E63 wagon does add to cool background props😅😅
It actually just "Ferrari Challenge Straddle" No 360 in its official name. I love this car. The easiest way to tell a factory stripe on this car is the Ferrari badge on the engine cover. If the stripe goes under the badge it's after market. If it's body color under the badge it's factory painted.
Such a nice car still holds up to today's standards
