"Automatic Shoots" means when the fuel pump trigger automatically stops. This is to avoid overfilling.. Then they want you to wait 10 seconds after the fuel has stopped before removing to make sure all the gas has emptied and doesn't leak all over the car.

There is a video of a modern V6 odyssey absolutely devastating a ford crown vic police interceptor model with a V8. In every area performance and handling. A 2018 odyssey with a V6 is certainly not slow, especially considering its a damn mini van. That Ferarri is not fast, it is just absolutely insane with FAR more power than you could ever use on the road.

"No more than two automatic shoots" really translates to something more akin to "no more than two automatic shuts." When filling the gas tank, the fuel will cut off automatically as it gets to the top, but sometimes it cuts off early, so it’s telling you to try pumping once more, and once that cuts off a second time you stop fueling, leave the pump in for 10 seconds to make sure all leftover fuel drains out, and then remove the pump and close the tank, and you’re ready to rock and roll. This prevents unnecessary fuel from dripping out of the pump tip and damaging the paint.
Maybe they don't have an automatic overfill stop in america, who knows? ;)

On the fuel cap, when tank is full the fuel nozzle will automatically disable (at least here in the Netherlands) some people continue after this to get a few more liters of fuel in... then you have to wait 10 seconds before removing nozzle to not risk dropping fuel on the paint job... is my best guess haha

doesnt matter if gas gets on paint all factory clear coats are partially chemical resistant and gas is one of them gas will evap pretty quick on body of car but may leave it a little sticky and attract dirt .
to fill it after the nozzle stopped is afaik a stupid idea. if im right, under the car is a valve which opens if the tank is full. so high possibilty (probably depends on the car) you just pay for petrol, which you dont even use.

The gas door means once the pump automatically shuts off don’t squeeze it more then twice trying to get it “more full” or round up to next dollar. The reason for the 10 seconds is its telling you to hold it straight upright and let drops of gas flow into tank instead off of the nozzle and landing on your paint.

Doug, you did not say anything about the 812’s headroom, legroom, comfort compared to the F8 or any other car. The 812 allows taller, larger drivers to be a lot more comfortable than these other models, and brands.

The fuel cap is referring to the automatic shut off on the pump. It means don't "top off" more than two times. After your last top off, wait 10 seconds and then remove the nozzle.

Yeah, those instructions seem pretty obvious to me, not sure why Doug had a problem with them. Especially his comment about it taking longer than 10 seconds to fill it up. The 10 seconds very clearly applies to the time between steps 3 and 4, not the entire fill-up process.

The fuel cap warning probably explains the following: When the tank is full, it will automatically cut off. However there is some more room left. So Ferrari warns you to have the fuel line cut off a maximum of 2 times, after which wait 10 seconds for the pump handle to drip out before removing the handle.

@@adamjohnson9976 Abdullah is right. It is a safety measure. If you overfill it, fuel might spill out making your Ferrari another spectacle, fireworks.... When the pump automatically shuts off, you can still keep filling it bit by bit.
My 2017 Honda accord does this. I'm pretty sure it's a safety feature in all modernized gas stations.

2 shoots basically means when your car is full and makes the clicking noise. You can only fill it up to two clicks than ten seconds after the car is filled remove the pump.

Hello Doug, I'm a fan of yours for a while now and watch your reviews when I have time.
Just wanted to say that I really love the juxtaposition you create in your reviews between car and building (I wonder if it's though-out on your behalf...) or landscape.
In particular in this video, the juxtaposition is very interesting. I'm rough guessing the car is worth about 400k and the house itself (apart from commercial value because of it's location) behind it from the looks only about 300k.
Would be interesting to see even more "rougher" juxtapositions in your reviews.

Doug, the reason they say to keep the fuel pump in the fuel filler hatch AFTER the tank is filled is because the ten second increment allows fuel drops to drip out of the pump, so that when you pull the pump out, gas does not drip on your paint.

Also to equalize air pressure, I had a fuel tank explode in an older car when I topped it off and closed it too fast.
The air pressure was compressing the spot welds on the fuel tank, and that popped, sparking the fuel and exploding. Nobody was hurt.

When you go to fill up and use the lock mode on the dispenser let it fill till it clicks, it is allowed to fill again until the second click of the dispenser, then wait 10 seconds for the fuel to settle before removing the dispenser from the fill hole.

It's not the paint. It looks plain because there's a lack of contrast on the exterior. Should've gone with darker rims. Or darker or other paint color should the owner stick with those rims. It's always nice to have a bit contrast.

Doug what the instructions on the fuel is talking about when you go to fill up the gas tank and you put the little clip at the bottom of the fuel handle so that it automatically fills up.
What they are saying is not to automatically use that more than 2 times, because you might overfill the gas tank and some gas may go in the overflow tube which is actually meant to be used for fuel gasses. The 10 seconds is probably because the fuel pump leaks after you've filled your car and they don't want you to ruin your paint.

As a mechanic, let me explain. It all is related to the fuel vapor canister. Do Not overfil. 10 second delay before removing nozzle allows the vapor return system to pressurize.
A vapor canister on a ford Econoline costs around $150 plus over 1 hour labor. Can not even imagine a Ferrari cost no matter what model
in some countries the gas pumps have 4 pushes, number 1 is slow and 4 is very fast , i think what ferrari meant is to push it to number 2 maximum so it can keep the as much air possible out of the gas tank
"No more than 2 automatic shoots" means don't lock the lever on the pump nozzle more than twice while filling (the auto fill feature controlled by a vacuum that most pumps have, allows you to let go of the pump handle and still fill the tank)
The ten second delay is meant for after you've finished fueling, for what I assume is vapor recovery, or less chance of dripping fuel onto the paint.
I’m sure Doug knows. On that label it clearly has the “see owner’s manual” label on it. It will be explained there, but this makes for a cooler video.

The fuel tank says "no more 2 automatic shoots" when filling it up, which is when the pump automatically shuts off. Some people try to fill it all the way by ignoring that, but it says not to do it more than 2 times. Then wait 10 seconds once you've finished filling up with gas, so that you don't get any drops of gasoline on the paint.
5:40 it means that once it clicks off automatically the first time, you can pull the handle again and once it clicks off again you’re finished. Also wait 10 seconds to remove the nozzle so the gas has time to settle and doesn’t spew out when you remove the nozzle.
I think PS stands for “Partenza Sportiva” (which is what we call Launch control in Italian) not Power Start.

I think the automatic shoots is referring to the notches in the pump handle to keep fuel flowing so you don’t have to stand there and wait. In my Alfa if you do more than one click it will stop and is super annoying. I think Italian cars just don’t like fueling up quick.
For 5:10, I think the graph is showing that you should lift the nozzle and let it drip a bit after fueling up for 10 sec to make sure no fuel will drip to your expensive paint. That two automatic shots might refer to not forcing the fuel pump to pump gas into your car after two auto-stop?

5:22 it means don't let the fuel pump go to auto-stop more than twice (i.e. when you're holding down the lever it will stop filling without you letting off the lever), and wait 10 seconds for the fuel to drip out of the nozzle when you're done pumping fuel so it doesn't drip on your car or on you. Decent advice for fueling any car

Hi. Usually the automobile manufacturers do not recommended filling it up with too much gas, because of emission issues that could occur later down the road. So two more shoots, or two more trigger of gas when the gas pump automatic stop has been activated. But you are told to wait ten seconds before proceeding in putting in more gasoline. hope this helps!
What did you think of the seating/position space behind the wheel? I assume you're quite tall as well? I'm 6'4" and find it difficult to justify one of these, head almost against the ceiling and seat not as backward as I would like.
Why didn't you show some footage of it revving or going into the later RPM's? It's one of the greatest sounding cars in the world
