Judi always looks like she's plotting someone's demise.
She's M after all
+UltimateBrody That's M's job. Haha
😂 she does
LMAOOO
UltimateBrody Lmbo 😂😂😂 ....So True !!!
I think people who say Reese Witherspoon didnt deserve her Oscar just don't like the idea of young, pretty actresses from comedy background winning awards against older, more-experienced dramatic actresses, no matter how great the performance was.
Dame happened with jennifer Lawrence snd she was stunning
richfictionfighter exactly.
No It's not about that her part was just not that good.. Ur just her fan
If felicity should have won, we’d still be talking about it. We’re...not.
Reese was amazing in Walk The Line!
"My mother and my father are here"
Camera: *Zooms in on Ryan Phillipe*
Well he was a covert narcissist and verbally and emotionally abused her. She filed for divorce from him that year.
Probably one of the best and most endearing speeches from an actress Oscar winner I've seen. Reese was so adorable... even her eyebrow.
but that chin though. damn. quite deadly.
Have seen Julia Roberts
Just like every other speech from every other undeserving Hollywood princess win huh- judge all the performances nominated and choose a winner; there was a clear winner and that was Felicity Huffman
@@djangojango2488 Transvestigation her. ALL of Hollywoods hot women are men.
@@djangojango2488 please look at the mirror before you say it. I bet yours is worse¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Joaquin Phoenix looked more proud of her than her ex-husband!
I love their close friendship with each other and it's really nice to see that they're really close friends with each other to this day.
He was lol, Ryan was obviously jealous & their relationship fell apart afterwards.
Yes totally! He sat there like he was sucking a lemon! Whereas Joaquin was beaming
Reese Witherspooon is EASILY one of the most underrated actress of all time. People tend to underestimate her acting. She actually deserved another nomination for Election.
I was about to reply "UNDERRATED????????" but then saw your comment was from 10 years ago so it made sense hahaha
And legally blonde - very out of this world
Four Christmases I forgot mentioned
Well wasn’t she nominated for golden globes for election and legally
One of the best Oscar acceptance speeches ever. Eloquent and yet very emotional. Well-deserved, Reese.
And she didn't blubber.
Walk the Line was a brilliant film, one of the best I've ever seen. Joaquin should have won an Oscar for his role...it was one of the most breathtaking things I've watched...
Εvery time his co-stars win and not him! He is brilliant in every role but Academy wants to piss me off :p
+Elina Tsaktsira That's right. It's all about you.
the new Leo
I thought he was good but Philip Seymour Hoffman deserved it for Capote
If Capote had come out any other year , he would have swept ALL the awards
Elle woods hehe. She did it.
What, like it's hard?
@Veronica A. she would've reclaimed a vote recount lol
She honestly seems like the most humble human being
Watch her arrest video - she literally muttered repeatedly to the officer ‘do you know who I am?’
@@sanjaystravels8773 I seriously hate it when people praise celebrities just because they’re celebrities
@@sanjaystravels8773 I was gonna say that
To say she didn't deserve this is crazy. But Joaquin should have won, no doubt
I don't see how he could have won a best actress award.
tpabaygarstud - That isn't what he said and he's not the only person to have said it on this page, stop being a troll.
check the movie trasnamerica thats an oscar worthy performance much better than reese
Felicity Huffman and Judi Dench were way better and no one could've beaten phillip seymour hoffman for capote.
***** totally agree with u
Its sweet that Joaquin looks like he wants to cry
@movingonandup773 Well they're good friends in real life
@movingonandup773 Reese mentioned it in many interviews for Walk the Line. And they also had a lovely happy reunion at the golden globes earlier this year.
movingonandup773 you’re wrong because Reese herself said Joaquin was a great guy and Joaquin said the same about her. And they had problems with each other when they rehearsed for Walk the line but that was because of the intense pressure put on them to portray Johnny Cash and June Carter to perfection. However as they got better with their singing and instrument playing they got along perfectly. By the time filming started, they were already good friends with each other and still are to this day. Say whatever the fuck you want. No offense
movingonandup773 I’m not being rude. I’m just stating the facts. They may not be close close friends as in hanging out since they’re both extremely busy people but they’re still good friends with each other nonetheless
@movingonandup773 Yes of course
I don't know why everyone's so mad about her winning the award. She did a great performance, I don't know why can't you recognize that.
True
True
I think most of the anger stems from the fact that Reese's role wasn't even a lead role, it was a supporting one
+Maliha Intikhab No, that's not why. It was the female lead. The objection is that she was only very good, not outstanding.
+Maliha Intikhab Even mpre reason to praise her work.
Reese won all the major awards for Best Actress:
Critics' Choice Awards,
Golden Globe Awards,
BAFTA Awards,
SAG Awards..
that's why she's the clear winner for the Academy Award for Best Actress.
+Leone Mendoza Not for her work in this film. Golden Globe went to Felicity Huffman
+Mario Slim Huffman won for Drama, Reese won for Comedy/Musical. Still thinks she is never that great at acting anyway
+Leone Mendoza Also NY film critics but I still don't get it.
Huffman won the National Board of Review, so...
The performance of Reese Witherspoon was very overrated
so sad that Joaquin Phoenix didn't win the Best Actor
yes it was sad but in all fairness i think Philip Seymour Hoffman deserved that oscar
He had a strong competition that year.
he will win in 2020
He will definitely win for joker in 2020
He WILL ...
soon..😉👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nobody speaks about Keira Knightley :/
Keira was only 19 here and she definitely should have been nominated at least twice since. She's so underrated and I'm sure she'll win her own soon.
She's wooden. Dreadful actor.
aerialkate If you notice Hollywood likes to honor Hollywood. When you play the life story of an entertainer, you're half way there.
Ronnie Bishop Yeah I know that. Classic oscar-baiting stuff! I find it tiresome. Those biopics are rarely riveting. And what they're awarding someone for is the best _impersonation._ Not necessarily the best acting performance. And if you are the right physical type, you're half way there before you begin. However watching Michael Douglas as Liberace on the 'Behind the Candelabra' thing, I thought it was a real shame he wasn't eligible for an Academy ward (just the Emmy). Because he entertained the fuck out of me. He was an absolute scream and at the same time managed to move me towards the end. Ditto Matt Damon.
+PotterLatina I will. She wrinkles her nose a little too much, but I love her anyway. She was a perfect Elizabeth Bennett.
Seriously, why has Judi Dench always got a face like a funeral?
judi dench is a sweetheart.
@@A.A_xv she is odd and conservative thats why
Quan Dang what exactly is she conservative about?
@@A.A_xv He's not that good like his brother River, but his acting is ok.
because she knows that she always gonna loose
That was one of the most heartfelt acceptance speeches I've ever heard, I'm so happy for her that she won.
She's so genuine. I adore her.
Keira Knightley killed it as Elizabeth Bennet.
Reese Witherspoon delivered such a beautiful speech; she's so passionate and such a wonderful person. She has a way with words - and she has a raw talent. Her performance in Walk the Line was superb!
Reese did a fantastic job, she even did all her own singing.
1:13 Felicity cheers
I love Reese. I know I don't know her personally, but, honestly, I don't think I have to know her that well to say that she is a wonderful person. So genuine and so kind.
Unless you know her name.
Watch her arrest video and you’ll see just how kind she is
how Phoenix didn't win an Oscar is beyond belief he was amazing in walk the line Reece was great but Phoenix smashed it
Chris Davis cause he sucked
Yes, he was so convincing as Johnny Cash
Because Philip Seymour Hoffman in Capote was much better than Phoenix in Walk the line. That's all I can say
They are not even in the same category dfk?
"I'm just trying to matter." That's really beautiful, actually. If more people thought that way, I bet we'd have a much more interesting world.
Very true.
The Academy prefers American citizens and swearing and shouting to solidity and depth. When I watched Pride & Prejudice, I totally forgot that Keira Knightley was playing the role of Elizabeth. She was BEING Elizabeth. She put her heart and soul there and delivered such a solid performance with so much depth. She should have been named Elizabeth.
This also explains Melissa Leo winning over Helena Bonham Carter in 2011 and also the recent nomination for Jennifer Lawrence. Her portrayal was no different than the one on Silver Linings Playbook. Also Natalie won an Oscar for portraying an troubled ballerina (totally deserved) while Keira didn't even get a nomination for Anna Karenina, a role she also played with such intensity that it was impossible to think that she was acting. Keira totally deserved the award for Pride & Prejudice for not playing but for being the role.
Don't know how Felicity did. Gotta watch Transamerica.
Tanzee Tanha Did you watch Transamerica? Felicity deserves the Oscar! 😭😭😭
Felicity Huffman should have won this. Oscars.
Reese Witherspoon’s performance to me was a supporting performance I always hate category fraud at the Oscars
02:19 he slowly realizes he'll always just be reese witherspoon's husband now.
Fuck him..he cheated on her🙄
So what's wrong ..in that ..he should have been proud 😍
@@shay3783this guy was very jealous of his wife
She did a great job in Walk the Line, but in my humble opinion, Felicity Hoffman deserved the award more.
I agree, but did you catch the pure shade in her speech where she says TWICE that her character was a REAL woman? I'm still giving her ass the side eye....
I don't think she meant that in the way you took it...
+F Yeah ...
nah Reese deserved it. And Felicity deserves nothing but jail.
@Reginald Wilson plus she played it incosistently. Her accent was awful and inconsistent
who cares who SHOULD have won, its over and done with. Just admire her acceptance speech for the sweetness and sincerity that it was. You're a beautiful soul Reese!
Diego Pisfil no body cares
I wish it had gone to Felicity Huffman. Not to undermine anyone else's performance, but she was utterly incredible in Transamerica. Mindblowing.
She'll never win another award after the college scam.
@@lisadiconti truth to power. Her and Lori are very canceled!
no reese was wayyyy better she sang so well and transformed herself into june but felicity huffman was unconvincing for the most part
oh God! the way she talks and that speech already, she is definitely one of the cutest, loveliest and most talented artists ever!
Felicity Huffman deserved this. Transamerica was an amazing movie.
I agree
I believe so.shes super autenthic in that film
I agree
Damn could Charlize look any more stunning? geez
I always love to find Joaquim's mom in videos .. she always looks so happy for the others
i didnt think that she should win .... but i love her.... and i think this is the best speech ever !! she is such a sweetheart
She's so real awww
I loved her speech. Glad I saw this when it aired live. Loved the movie overall. Joaquin Phoenix should've won Best Actor, as that was his best performance EVER.
bluedasher74 He did now🤘🏽
6 years later... HE WON
Reese Witherspoon, you deserved the Oscar for your portrayal of June Carter Cash. No doubt or question your children likely said "Way to go Mom, nice work". I have the film. Hopefully someday Joaquin Phoenix wins the Oscar.
He's going to win in one week!
Huffman should've won. She was best of all of them. Reese doesn't even deserve that's why nobody gave her standing ovation
and the oscar goes to
my mind : keira knightley :)
It's crazy that Reese won this in the midst of not even knowing that her husband was cheating on her at the time!!
i was so happy, beautiful actress and performance
'I'm just trying to matter' such a powerful line touched me.
WOW it’s the best speech i’ve ever heard, i can feel her heart and real pure emotions 🥺🤍🤍
That was such a lovely speech :) I loved her performance in Walk the Line. She really conveyed the strength and conviction it takes to be a pillar for someone else, and yet she was flawed herself. Really subtle but complex.
It's really so touching the way she thanks Joaquin...
That just shows they created a good friendship during the filming of the movie. And they still are good friends with each other based on their golden globes 2020 reunion
When Reese was thanking Joaquin his mother Heart was so sweet about it n even looks like she was crying with her...so sweet
That was one of the sweetest, most genuine and touching Oscar speeches I've ever seen. God bless.
so everyone hating cause she won for playing a countrynsinger and not a tran or someone mentally ill.sorry if im mistaken.but tired of seein this kind of rude coments.towards her.
Fix your punctuations
+Jacqueline Nguyen If you want to get picky over punctuation, Jacqueline, then try to remember which punctuation mark comes at the end of a sentence.
Reese Witherspoon not only swept the major organisations that year but most of the major critics organisations as well and still they say she didn't deserve it
Felicity hoffman deserved to win
this was so well deserved for Witherspoon and the fact that the academy agrees says ALOT
Felicity huffman in transmerica is amagazing she deserved this oscar
Felicity Huffman should have won hands down, amazing performance.
This is just like Emma Stone winning over (Isabela Huppert) and Julia Roberts over (Ellen Burstyn) and Jennifer Lawrence won was completely joke... and Amy Adams snub for nomination...
no reeese should have won hands down
No.
That speech was so touching. Reese is a great actress
I've just seen Walk the Line, and Reese's performance was absolutely AMAZING. She was a perfect June Carter...
Arianna Ratto watch transamerica! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
What was so great about she basically just sings n is a misstress..
I'm so happy she won the oscar!! She so deserved it! She learned to sing amazingly and she also did great acting. That movie gives me goosebumps.
Did you catch Keira's changing smile when she clapped? lol that is so me
I don't get it people say she didn't deserve the award but she not only sweeped all the major awards but also won almost every critics awards as well
She's a class act!
Full of grace!
She looked so classy, beautiful and timeless ... her speech perfection!
Sorry, but Felicity Huffman should have won the Academy. Her performance was so intense and compelling, and opened my eyes to so many issues that transgendered people face today. What a shame.
+Alexa Shelby Those performances are often snubbed unfortunately.
Same and I watched it when I was 15 years old and remembering how it made me sad. So powerful never will forget it!
Bruh there's only 2 genders
As sad as it sounds I guess in 2006 the Oscars and the media, in general, weren't yet ready to fully embrace these topics like we have now, I mean I agree with you, Felicity's performance was amazing and I'm sad she didn't get recognized for her role way more like she deserved, but at the same time, I'm happy the society acknowledges now the REAL problems that transgender people have to deal and live day to day, we might live in Trump era right now but we are no coming back to shame and hiding times, world is finally becoming (one step at time) in a safer place for LGBTQ+ folks.
the 2000's Oscars were just popularity contest
Keira Knightly deserve it more... I love ”Pride and prejudice”.
She's a dame now so there's THAT.
@@jamesmonroe7751 I wish she was but she’s an officer
@@henryesj6242 close to it! Fun fact Miss Moneypenny aka Naomi Harris is one too! So is Joel Richardson (about time) and Sadé. On the men's side Christian bale Jonathan Nolan and Ewan McGregor. TMI
@@jamesmonroe7751 I know, they darn sure deserve it
keira knightley suckeddd in pride and prejudice
She is pure class
This is one of my favorite Oscar speeches. She is the epitome of a class act.
I couldn't agree more, he showed so much emotional depth as a villain that it was haunting.
There's not an iota of "Hollywood" in that speech. Straight from the heart. Love you Reese!
Am I the only one who thought she should have been in the Supporting Actress category and probably would have still won? So, that way, Felicity could have won.
Just saw the film for the first time, she absolutely deserved this! June & Johnny woulda been proud!
Such a lovely not-contrived speech, 'making my bed or making a movie'..brilliant..
One of the most undeserved awards in history.
I've been thinking wasn't Felicity Huffman's chances nullified cause 'she's a DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE' at the time?!
What a wonderful acceptance speech! Love Reese
I love the music played behind when she wins the award
I took in each word like it was fresh air. I was so touched by her kindness as she offered us all the wisdom form her elders. I'm going to tell my children how proud I am of them every chance I get!
I don't care what haters say. Reese was the greatest that year. I'm so happy she won but Julianne Moore should have got a nomination for "The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio"
Exactly.
No she wasnt u were just her fan
@@sabinagomez.9376 And you are just her hater.
Yikes you can tell that the marriage between Reese and Ryan was over by this point…
Reese looks soo much better with darker hair, which is probably closer to her natural color
What a sincere and well spoken acceptance speech. Very humble and meaningful
SHE WAS 30?!!
She literally looks 19
well deserved: smart, pretty, respectful and galant.
my grandmother who teach me how to be a real woman, to have strength and self respect....wow. shes lucky grandmother teached this to her and now to the women who hear this speech from reese. very true, a real woman should be like this.
"You're about to find out who I am" - Reese Witherspoon
Felicity Huffman was without a doubt my vote for this award, her performance in Transamerica was an outstanding, brave performance which, in my opinion, couldn't have been pulled off with the same courage and sheer beauty by any other actress, she is one of the greatest actresses of her generation, in my opinion. I have all the respect for the other actresses who were nominated and each of then deserve recognition for their performances but Huffman's performance will go down in history for me.
Her accent is the best thing ever. ♥
Her voice and smile just melt my heart
she is so adorable and great actress really loved her in big little lies
You said that Huffman deserved to win, so you praising Witherspoon's mediocre performance is moot. She was nothing like June. She deserves the bashing. She represents the Academy being a popularity contest.
Yet another undeserved ‘Hollywood princess’ win- should’ve been Felicity or Charlize
Best Actress:
Judi Dench, "Mrs. Henderson Presents"
Felicity Huffman, "Transamerica"*(WINNER)
Keira Knightley, "Pride & Predjudice"
Charlize Theron, "North Country"
Naomi Watts, "King Kong"
I just watch walk the line last night. So good.
I love how Ryan reaction
Words cant even describe how much I love Reese Witherspoon *.* Shes just the definition of beautiful
I always thought she seemed so wonderful prior to watching this; now I know it.
She seems like a genuinely sweet woman (which is refreshing to see in Hollywood), and I am certainly glad she won this award. She deserved it!
Made me tear up, genuine even from an actress. One of my favorite movies. Real talent.
She never looks any older!Such a sweetheart:) Well deserved award to.Wonderful film!
When Ray Charles gives June Carter the Oscar!!!
Felicity Huffman was brilliant, but you know what? Reese Witherspoon did a damn good job. She may not have been the best of the year, but she did wonderful with that role
I was so sad at this moment, because Felicity Huffman gave a once-in-a-lifetime-performance in "Transamerica".
Her speech is one of the best speeches I have ever heard!
quite possibly the best acceptance speech ever
