I've got a small closet with triangular shelves. For months, I've thought of this closet as just a waste of space but this video helped me learn how to fit my bath towels inside. Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I have an old tattered flag that I need to properly lay to rest and this helped with the first step. And for those wondering then procedure, the flag is to be folded. Then place the flag on an open flame, salute (if current or prior military in my opinion) recite the Pledge of Allegiance, and hold a brief moment of silence. Be sure the flag is burned to its entirety and bury the ashes.
I'm iris and I live in Ireland my family has no connection to America at all but I found and American flag in a cupboard in my grandads house. I knew from what I read online that the American flag has to be folded a proper way, so I looked it up a direct found this video. I folded the flag the best I could to this tutorial. It's so hard, how do Americans do this so well.
+catgoddness my family left Ireland in 1793 coming here. I am very proud to have my ancestors come from Ireland and I thank you for your respect and kind words.
You can apply meanings to the flag folds but this is not required. And under Honor Guard procedures, popping the flag is part of the ceremony. Btw, its not being displayed to the audience. Ceremonial procedures often differ from what ppl are familiar with.
@BleaceHawk The Flag does not touch the ground. That is an overhead shot of the flag resting on an elevated coffin. If you look at the shadows in that shot and the way the flag is hanging over the edge you can tell that it doesn't touch the ground.
Okay, guys did I make a mistake.. My flag in near my bed and my chair accidentally knocked it down, and it touched the ground.. Is that disrespectful? I mean, I quickly picked it back up but, does that count as disrespect to the country?
Legend X nah dogg it was a mistake. What should putt someone in jail is liberals burning the American flag that soldiers have given their lives to protect. Now that should have a punishment. It would be the only exception of free speech.
OIF veteran here. Putting someone in jail for burning a flag is fascism. I don't want the US to become a police state. If you believe America stands for liberty, then people should have the freedom to burn the flag in protest. Yeah, I think it's very crass for them to do that, but their constitutional rights are more important to save than pieces of fabric. We can easily make more flags but we can't easily just make more freedom. Also stop blaming liberals for everything, doing that looks goofy (and so does your Pepe avatar, lol).
@MRWOFFLE1 That's Great! I hope you passed. I was in Scouts and got my Eagle in December. I aged out and am now a Scoutmaster in my troop. Work hard and stay on top of it, and someday you will be an Eagle too!
I uploaded this video (incidentally I have two youtube/google accounts and haven't combined them yet). I'd like to make something clear. The flag never touched the ground during the filming of this video. It may look like it in one of the overhead shots, but it is on an elevated coffin (prop) and does not touch the ground. Also there may be "more proper" ways to fold the flag, but the method shown here is pretty universally accepted as respectful and acceptable. Thank you all for your concern.
Can you please remove this video. There are numerous errors starting with the first fold. The video shows the right being folded over to the left side which is incorrect. But I did notice that the flag was flipped over because the "open" end was on the person's left side which is incorrect. Thank you.
Today I saved a flag from a member of ANTIFA and he was throwing these precious flags in the dirt and mud. This video taught me how to fold the very flag that was saved today from the disrespect and awful things that were to be done to it.
You obviously arent speaking from experience. Popping the flag is an Honor Guard technique used to get on-line and stay in unison. Spend some time with the USAF Honor Guard and then get back to me. Otherwise you can take your so-called regulations and stuff 'em. Popping isnt disrespect. Since you seem so bothered by it you obviously dont know what youre looking at & talking about. I have never had any objections overseas or stateside. And I've performed at over 120 funerals/ceremonies.
Enjoyed the video, although all the mysticism around the tradition is pretty annoying. People focus too much on the flag itself, rather than the ideas it's supposed to symbolize...
Yes it is in fact against the flag code of the United States to let the flag touch the ground. But that is just not with the United States flag, you should never let your nations flag touch the ground. But the flag is not touching the ground it just appears that way from the camera angle, they are actually holding the flag above the grass.
I wish we treated soldiers,
cops, teachers, and healthcare/social workers as good as a material symbol.

as long as your towels are Made In USA and you stand at attention while they dry.
So that's ALL you got from this vide??? :-(
@BleaceHawk That's ok. Thank you for your concern. I'm glad you care about the way the flag is treated.
Thank you for that information. I knew how to fold the flag, but was not aware that each fold reflected respect and had an individual meaning.
Thanks for the upload, I was doing funeral honors and didnt realize I didnt know how to properly fold the flag. Luckily my body saved me
Thank you so much for the video, im becoming a tenderfoot tonight in boyscouts and I couldnt remeber how too fold the flag!!!

with practice and honor. thanks for respecting our flag. I'll do the same for yours if I find one.
Nolan Price No problem, but you don't have to fold the irish flag in a specific way.
+catgoddness my family left Ireland in 1793 coming here. I am very proud to have my ancestors come from Ireland and I thank you for your respect and kind words.

That’s nice. How do we unfold it?
I knew this technique since 5th grade. Don't complain, It is easy to learn.

I wasn't aware of the significance of certain folds.
Despite all the madness, still proud to be an American.

You never, never, never let the ensign touch the ground.
When did the flag touch the ground?

I agree these people do not know how to fold the American Flag---not at all....!!!!!!!!! Please delete this video--
it's just a flag dude.
Considering many of us finding error with this video have likely folded a flag that draped a casket, no, it is not "just a flag, dude."
@@bryandehart670 I really hope you aren't American.
@@bryandehart670 ya a American flag that should be treated with respect
I search how to fold America and this how you do it!
You not supposed to put it on the ground
how
First off, how the hell do you get the triangles right? Never works for me.
Secondly, where is the yellow M?
***** It's a joke.

it's literally a piece of fabric, and if you're against antifa does that mean you support fascism? i don't get it.
@@stormeh You really need to stick with your game videos, because you don't know enough about reality to say anything.
Who’s here from EDP’s video

Very important video instruction. Our Flag represents those who have made it possible to view this.
Wrong. The graves of dead US soldiers, cops, teachers, and healthcare/social workers do.

The American Flag is not used in band.
Isn't that disgraceful to let the flag on the ground? I don't know, I am not an American. But I really wonder..1:58
