My favorite part about the "true" Amityville Horror is that the DeFeo investigation basically went like this:
Butch DeFeo: My sister killed the whole family and then herself!
The Cops: Nope.
Butch DeFeo: Uh...it was my uncle, he killed my family!
The Cops: Uh-uh.
Butch DeFeo: Uh, uh...the mafia killed my family!
The Cops: No.
Butch DeFeo: Uh, well, uh...it was demons!
The Cops: ...Demons, you say?
The Warrens: Demons, you say?
Hollywood: Demons? You don't say!
Cue 50 years of "is the Amityville house possessed by DEMONS?!?! Find out in our (loosely based on a) TRUE STORY tell all feature length film series!!!"
Physical media should never stop being produced because there's no guarantee that your favorite shows and movies will be supported on a streaming service forever. Whereas as long as you have the working hardware, you cann guarantee yourself the viewing of your media.

Happy this one got re-uploaded. I remember laughing my ass off at the Shut Up part and being confused at the Baby Ghost reference. Wouldn’t be a Phelous review without masterfully hilarious editing and a reference that goes over people’s heads

To this day I still find it funny that Ryan Reynolds the guy who in the far future would basically become The Green Lantern in one movie then becomes deadpool from now on and then proceeds to become pikachu at 1 point was also a guy early in life who basically told his family to shut up in a horror movie lol. Oh oh and he now owns his own business that I keep finding ads on CZcams a lot so yeah Ryan is living good.
I know right it’s like how Paul Rudd made it big with Ant Man and a couple other movies and people forget one of his earliest movies is the worst Halloween film.. at least of the original continuity not sure about the reboots and remakes
And then George Lutz left his family to start the Deadpool movie franchise.
I love the additions in this re-edit, like The Amityville Comedy, David Arquette, and the dog fro Silent Hill.

I also love the use of audio clips from Treehouse of Horror V when Homer was going all Jack Torrance.
I also kinda liked the camera quality looking like the ‘70’s when the killings and haunting took place.

I always knew, since Lorenzo Music had that weird stoned bored way of talking that was just so weird in Ghostbusters... you'd think a con-man like Peter would sound more interested.
If only they got Dave Coulier to do a Caddyshack Bill Murray impression, that would be better …………..,. Oh wait, no it wouldn’t 😐
The only thing I remembered about this movie were the long shots with Ryan Reynolds bearded, super buff and shirtless, cutting logs, dripping wet with the rain and sweat.
That's the sole reason I've ever seen anyone recommend the remake, tbh.
Phelan has always been so chaotic and I love it. 😂

Honestly, the scariest parts in this movie are Ryan snapping and descending into madness, so at last this remake got _that_ right.

When I have to do some of these re-edits I keep them unlisted for a while because I want to try and spread out re-edits going public.
One of the many trials and tribulations Deadpool had to go through to get where he's at now.
Another thing with the dog is, it helps pull George out of the bloody pit near the end of the original as well! He was a goodest of bois!

I miss the older music. I like Sad Panda rocking out with that grainy, crunchy, grunge guitar. It gave these episodes an energetic and memorable outro that sticks with you.
I remember this review on blip and it was really funny back in the day and still funny till this day.

Fun fact: The house still exists, but the quarter-moon windows on the third floor were replaced in 1990, and 112 Ocean Avenue isn’t even the address anymore, all to discourage visitors. The residents of Amityville, NY are unhappy with the international attention this hoax has given their fairly small town of not even 10,000 people. I think that should be respected.
Ryan seems like the guy of guy who would apologize for scaring the kids, or yelling at them.
This movie uses a lot of horror tropes that almost never fail to spook me because I'm a full-on wimp, but I still laughed so much every time you showed one of those clips with your silly narration. xD I appreciate stuff like this because it helps me sleep at night pff.

This was before Ryan Reynolds became Deadpool, so yay. Everything portrayed in the Amityville Horror remake never happened in the real case, but the references in this(Baby Ghost, Green Lantern 2011, The Simpsons), and the opening with Garfield/Ghostbusters was enjoyable! There's a likely chance this review originally uploaded in 2013 or 2014 before it got deleted, among others with the re-edit cut.

I live right near Amityville, and that stupid movie and urban legends has ruined the town's reputation. That house isn't haunted at all. (The DeFeo family were real people, though, and they really were killed by their psycho oldest son.)

I remember really only enjoying shirtless Ryan Reynolds in this... and the extended lore about John Ketchem. Not that I believe it, but it's a lot more interesting than the original version.

Given how the Lutzs' treated their kids I'd say Ryan and Melissa aren't overracting *that* much.
To say I loathe this movie wouldn't be doing justice to the layered depths of hatred I truly hold towards it. Suffice to say, it's absolutely everything wrong with modern Hollywood horror and remakes. This and that atrocious _The Day the Earth Stood Still_ remake were the final straws that broke the camel's back and made me swear off any/all remakes made in the 21st century forever. There've been only two exceptions since then: _Evil Dead_ '13 (mainly because it wasn't a genuine remake (still hated it, though)) and _Suspiria_ '18 (actually loved this one).

The original movie creeps me out whenever I see it despite its many problems.
The remake never impressed me but I kind of get your points of it being over-the-top. Also Chloe Moretz started here, a very talented actress I like.
I’m suprised you manage to get creeped out. I always fall asleep whenever it comes on about 40 minutes. It’s Soooo boring
I dunno, I actually enjoyed this film. I probably watch it at least once a year. I mean if you had to choose any Amityville Horror film to watch, you could really go with a worse film. Unless you got access to LSD, then the second one is actually pretty good.
