  • Max spent some time recently with the Dacia Duster and it got him thinking why everything else on the market costs so much.
    Dacia has enhanced and updated its Duster SUV model. This latest version features refreshed design elements, up-to-date features, and technology all while continuing to offer the same robustness, comfort, and value-for-money which it is famed for.
    Launched in the UK in 2013, and available across Europe since 2010, the Duster quickly earned a reputation for delivering all the benefits of an SUV at city car price. With shockingly affordable value, the Duster has shaken-up the SUV segment, having broken the rules to become a unique offering for consumers. With more than 1.9 million vehicles sold, the Duster has been the number one car for retail sales in its class in Europe’s SUV market since 2019.

It is a very good value car for the money and I suppose if you really look after it it will last many years.I bought my daughter a Punto about 4 years ago .It was ten thousand pounds brand new,1.4 petrol Reliable simple boxer engine and reasonable cheap to run.Never say twenty grand is cheap.

    Not all the cars he has on his screen there are in that class. For instance he has the Seat Tarraco on the top which is at least two classes up from most of them cars and even if I am wrong and it is the Ateca it's still a class up from most of them cars. The Duster is smaller than it. A neighbour has a Duster and another neighbour beside them have a Sportage and guess what the Sportage us bigger in everyday. Yes the Duster is a good car but it's also between classes not quite in the ones below or above unless you consider price then maybe it is. Also Vauxhall have two cars in this class with the Crossland and the Mokka and Hyundai too with both the Byron and the Kona.
    So you are missing a few cars too.

    • @smcmotorgroup
      @smcmotorgroup  Před 2 lety +3

      There are some inaccuracies in your comment. I have not included the SEAT Tarraco or Ateca in the list. The list is as follows in order from bottom left...
      Audi Q2
      Citroen C3 Aircross
      Ford Puma
      Honda HRV
      Fiat 500X
      Hyundai Kona
      DS3 Crossback
      Jeep Renegade
      Kia Stonic
      Mazda CX-30
      MG ZS
      Nissan Juke
      Peugeot 2008
      Mini Countryman
      Renault Captur
      SEAT Arona
      Skoda Kamiq
      SsangYong Tivoli
      Suzuki Vitara
      Toyota Yaris Cross
      Vauxhall Mokka
      VW T-Cross
      You are right there are other cars in the Small SUV class that the Duster competes in but for visual impact I chose to only include the most popular models from each brand. However I feel the fact you mention this compliments my point that this is a highly competitive class with a huge number of options. It also clearly shows the benefit that we can undercut all of these models (as well as the ones you've mentioned) and yet still offer a larger car that even competes with cars in the Compact SUV class in some cases.

    Other cars are more expensive because they offer more or different or better. It doesn't apply to every car but it does apply.
    The Duster is an amazing car. And you should buy one. Just don't make it seem more than it is. It's the absolute basic a car needs to be in the 20's to be sold.

    • @smcmotorgroup
      @smcmotorgroup  Před 2 lety

      Do they though?

    • @Armeanu91
      @Armeanu91 Před 2 lety

      @@smcmotorgroup They do. They offer better materials, better inside plastics, better covers and carpets (which are extra on a Duster btw), the padding in the chairs is more and better and they cover most of the metal parts with material, unlike the Duster which leaves it bare (like the boot for example).
      This is not even covering the mechanical parts. For example, if you'd have tested it in a curb, you'd find out that it drives like a boat in rough seas because it has weak suspension.
      Again, I don't hate Dacia. I am a Romanian and I just bought my dad the new Sandero Stepway (which I think it's better btw). It's just cheap because they cheap out (for good reason).
      But if you'd look closely, even the door gaps won't match, and the paint is 1-2 layers fewer.
      It is an amazing car at it's price point. Same can be said for others on that list.
