Hi, having had more time to play with the vdub diag, what are your current thoughts? Ive got a4 b7 with airbag light on ,non functioning rcl, and want to add aux input to the rnse unit, would you recommend vdub over obd11, or still go for vcds. Many thanks, Mick

Hi, Just read your question, If I'm honest i would say Vdub diag works well but one thing i have noticed is no tool fits all. this is the link for OBD11 forum that may help answer your specific question forum.obdeleven.com/
OBD11 is very good but charges credits for retro functions and even service resets coding, so i only use it to diagnose if i'm on the road and have any issues.
I'm currently having issues with a Seat Mii Auto and none have really helped with the solution yet. But back to you. Vdub diag allowed me to recode the gearbox module to the car and is communicating again so that has done the same as VCDs. FVDI is another good tool for coding stuff but didn't help me on my A4 B7 as it turned out to be my Engine ECU at fault. VAS (the older version of ODIS) was good and guided you through the Steps along the way. So i wouldn't like to make a decision for you.
I just ran through VDubDiag on A4 B7 (without a car connected ) and it looks like its possible to do airbag basic settings and Adaption sorry i cannot help further. here is another video of its use on an A5 czcams.com/video/VJCU66Vommc/video.html

Hi does vdubdiag read abs sensor faults?

Hi Mate, I have just done a quick video of what I can see on a Seat Mii under ABS I will post link shortly, If the ABS module supports the feature i would guess this will read abs sensor faults without a problem as this is more than just a basic OBD reader/reset tool, It has the ability to go deep into all modules read, clear faults and do basic settings output test and so on. my findings are that not all modules support individual sensors my wife's Smart fortwo just said rear right when looking at the fault code (obviously using a different OBD device compatible with Smart), my Golf MK6 with VCDs allowed me to spin the wheel and see a mV reading generated by the sensor. I will say its a great tool that you can plugin and easy to use i love this, if someone else has purchased one and would like to comment that would be good for other people to know its capabilities including me. FYI; I purchased another one of these on offer from another site out of interest and it wouldn't work on my Samsung or Huawei (unable to connect to the Bluetooth although listed) and was very slow with the iPhone, no problems with the VdubDiag one on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10Plus, when I opened the OBD device the internals were different to the working vDubDiag.

@@calvinhudson327 Hi many thanks and very very helpful. You've convinced me and got one off ebay. Just hoping it's the genuine one. Will report back once tested.

I tested and it does read ABS faults. Showing the same fault as the garage with snap-on machine. Also there's live speed sensor data too. Great little thing and no issues with my Honor Magic 5 pro.

Hi, I'm pleased to here that, I don't make anything from making these videos and would hate to miss lead anyone; so when people add comments good or bad it helps everyone. as I've mentioned before not all OBD tools work for every model or offer the same in-depth level of diagnostics. It also depends on what the ECU/PCM support. Thankyou
