Does the NEW Honda Civic Type R Live Up to the Classic Type R Formula?

- The 2020 Honda Civic Type R is one incredible car. The front wheel drive system feels more like an all wheel drive car. The Type R specific body panels make the car stand out. Even the interior is Type R specific with more aggressive seats and plenty of red accents. This Civic Type R in particular is making 500HP with what is essentially an upgraded turbo and full bolt ons. The Boost Blue color in combination with the white Advan wheels really pops and makes the car look great! I enjoyed driving the car, and I hope you will enjoy watching it!

how many offset for the wheel.. front 18x10.5j rear 18x9.5j offset ?
18x9.5 +45 is perfect so adding an inch to a 10.5" wide wheel you would want another 12 or 13mm less offset to keep the scrub radius on point....so like a +32 or +33 for the 10.5" front
295s should be solid - 305s could work depending on which tire company - some are wider than others even tho they call them a "305"

Hard to kill the driving dynamics on this car - I run a square 265 Cup 2 setup and it took lateral grip to the next level
Fed the car power and it ate it up - 533/429 maxxed out MAF in a 3.5" rampage housing
Feels like an old school Honda now - torque comes is a little later and when full boost hits its like a huge vtec cam coming online
Solid mid range boost response so it doesnt overwhelm the tires mid corner/light throttle...you can still play with your line mid corner and not wash the tires out with torque spikes
Switching from the tank 20s to forged 18s tho - steering feel goes wayyy up and grip is a double edged sword - it sticks but also likes to grab road imperfections and pull you in that direction - Honda has yaw sensors that will also adjust steering angles so sometimes with so much grip it can feel like your wrestling the car lol
Took a bit kf getting used to but made more sense once I understood what the engineers did.....same with the rear brake yaw ....corrects your line/yaw - got me a little sideways in a hairpin on cold tires
The car is a beast - just feed it power and grip and it just gets better and better.....very high ceiling out of the box - I havent even touched the sus as I am still working on power and getting used to how the car handles the new delivery.
I will say for most normal people - FBO + fuel system e50 would be a GREAT stopping point power wise....thats about 430-450whp with hooligan levels of low end torque....super peppy and fun around town/low speed/tight tracks - super responsive and as long as your on a good tire, plants you in your seat.
FYI this should be does a tuned Type R worth tuning?… you’re driving a tuned Type R so none of us can relate to what your feeling, no hate just advice bro 😎
