Marsche didn't keep us up, Raphinia did!
Raphinia & Newcastle
Raphinha, Newcastle, and Tyrone Mings kept us up.
@@FeloniousFunk Don't forget Jiménez, the twat.
If that's true why were Leeds crap before Marsch whilst Raphinha was at the club?
Raphinha (and several others) did perform a bit better when Marsch came. We got a bit of a new manager "bump". I don't rate Marsch but it's not fair to blame him when players perform poorly, while simultaneously giving no credit when they give a decent performance.
That a CEO goes on a non club podcast is amazing! Great job!
Great interview guys. Respect to Angus for coming on and fielding the difficult questions, didn’t try to hide or shirk responsibility. MOT 👍
yes he did!
Don't give him credit. He's manipulated this and managed to make himself smell of roses.
He was a big part of a big problem
Which difficult question was that ?
@@Kilgallon1981 If you didn't think those were difficult questions I don't know what to tell you. This wasn't a breeze for Angus. You have to at least give him credit for that...even if you consider him a "Tory T"
This last year, I stayed a firm supporter of the club, my 53rd year of doing so… but I also became a supporter of The Square Ball… I took away so much from that interview that I didn’t know. From the scale of overhaul Bielsa had requested to the anger at how Adams transfer was handled. I think balance was achieved in handling Angus Kinnear as CEO… and as a result, he was also able to say more. Really Great job!
The biggest thing that comes across here is that Angus genuinely seems to care about the club, the fans and the team. He didn’t have to do this, could easily have done an official club podcast where he got softer questions, but this is as close to facing the fans directly as he could’ve gotten. Even if he doesn’t stay too long, and is simply remaining to help transition the 49ers into the club, I think he understands the mistakes, and the errors, and will try his hardest to atone for any he’s made himself.
How much he's being paid? He's added no value and written off contracts that will cost us in the future
@@ianhannant7497Which contracts?
Respect to him for doing this every year
Respect to him for turning the club into financial disaster and a National laughing stock once again.
@@OhmydayysLazy opinion.
Respect for what, are you mad he is to blame for the shambles that now runs through the club
@@user-oz3ps5mp6v Regardless of what you think of the man, he does not have to do this and I think it's great that he does
@@OhmydayysThat was Orta and Rex arms but ok
Spurs fan, but watched out of curiosity.. massive respect to Angus for fronting up like this. Really insightful and interesting interview
Kudos to him for actually coming through with the interview and not just pretending he couldn't make it.
He’s made a bigger fool of himself!!
He’s usually a lot more arrogant in his program notes, funny that
@@11Janho I thought he came across really well.
@@tempname4039 you would do,that why were in a mess……but, carry on truths hurts Kinnear is a Twat running MY football club….I really don’t want to deal with your valuation!!
@@11Janhohow are you working that out ?.
Excellent guys , spot on questioning , fair play to Angus , a bit uncomfortable at times but battled through it honestly in my opinion , Great insight ...its items like these that stands out The Square Ball as No 1
Angus was more open and honest than I thought he would be or needed to be.
It’s obvious we were hamstrung by Andrea’s lack of huge wealth, but I still give him credit. He tried, stayed too long, but as Angus said, it’s his business and it gets emotional (just look at us fans)
We’re in good hands, slow and steady, but I think they’ll make the team on of the big 8 again.
Impressive chat from the TSB team so kudos to you both and to those who may have helped shape the approach taken. Really beneficial chat with all the changes behind the scenes, and great to hear what Angus had to say. He came across very well and magnanimous, and clearly he has impressed the ownership. It is a tough job, and kudos to him for showing up, and not hiding.
Great video guys. Fair play to Angus for coming on and hopefully he's now working with a better team especially on the recruitment side!
Kudos to Angus for coming on the show
Do you honesty think he wante to? Sacrificial Lamb
@@soulie5287this exactly, never learns does he, ffs
@@soulie5287He really doesn't have to. I don't know how many other CEOs offer up nearly two hours of their time for a completely unrestricted interview where they don't control the questions, but it can't be many.
So yes, he really wanted to.
Fair play to Angus for coming on the show again, he was very honest. Fair play to Dan and Michael too, they were as strong with questions and subjects as they could have been. 💙💛
Helmet. Kinear is a cancer
I personally don’t think he was very honest
@@jordanbrown231cool story bro
@@dudeabides5807 mugged off on CZcams by an account dedicated to a 25 year old film. Sound
@@jordanbrown231glad you're honest at least about being a mug
Very impressed with that as an interview. Some good, searching questions and to be fair to Angus Kinnear, he answered them as fully as possible without trying to push blame elsewhere or breaching confidentiality. Well done all.
Great stuff guys and massive respect to Angus for his transparency. Running a football club is not easy and it's impossible to control the outcome of every decision that you make. He knows that the club made mistakes and now they can learn from them.
Absolutley love these annual Kinnear interviews, very insightful. Fair play to Angus for doing them. Keep up the good work TSB
He should be gone... Useless business brain
Fair play to Angus! Gotta love his quote though just after an hour in that "Willy had a wobble" 😂😂
We’ve all been there! 😂
Quality interview. Well done TSB and Angus 👏
Great work by the TSB .Thank you guys
Great interview, lads. Really good to hear Angus’ views on the whole calamitous season - respect for turning up to answer questions: shit got real at the 1 hour point 😅
Not even watched it yet - but fair play to him for coming in....updated comment to come after :))
Just watched : thought he was as straight forward as he could be - no real surprise revelations. I think we all knew what was going on and he admitted they should have got rid of marsch sooner and that Grazia losing the dressing room at Bournemouth - really good job by the TSB lads in pressing him - well worth a listen - favorite parts : Dan straight in with the Levi’s contract law quip and “we can have a healthy debate about me being a twat but I’m not a Tory ‘
I’m glad Farke is here and I’m glad orta has gone … MOT!
The least he could do considering he’s partly responsible for the mess we’re in.
Same
And he's owning up to his mistakes.🤷🏻
me too but neck like a jockeys bollox springs to mind
Well what did you conclude lol I was the same as you on first glance and I also haven't watched yet lol
Insightful. Some of the greatest lessons in life are a product of failure. The response so far this season has been encouraging. Honest responses and respectful of our magnificent club.
MOT!
Really interesting interview with an intelligent and honest CEO. I hope past mistakes have been learned from and aren’t repeated but it’s good to hear Angus take personal responsibility for some of the decisions that didn’t work out.
Well done Adam and the TSB. I thoroughly enjoyed this exposition of recent events and recent seasons. Adam could have ducked this one but he deserves a huge amount of credit for standing up and being counted. If I were his employer I would be extremely grateful for his work and professionalism. I hope the clear out of the rats and snakes puts us into a much stronger position and we can all be proud of our great club once again. MOT!
Who's Adam? 😬
Fair play Angus, not many (if any) CEO's would be prepared to be interviewed for 1hr 45 on our last few years! Thanks Dan/Michael
Strong questions from the team and some good answers from Angus. Thanks for this.
Firm but fair interview. Fair play to Angus for coming on and fronting this.
Great interview....thank you to Angus for coming on and being open, honest and transparent. No excuses, no side stepping...deserved to stay on as CEO and gives me hope we are on the right track to getting back to the PL.
Having watched the whole interview I think Angus came across as honest and with the right intentions for the club going forward. He didn't try to hide from the mistakes made which led to relegation last season. I thought his rationale for some of his programme notes was interesting and valid; I'd never thought of the angle that yes - as a senior figure within the club - he did / does have a responsibility to 'big up' his players / employees on occasion...I think everyone would rather work for a boss who publicly supports and encourages them (whatever line of work they are in). Great interview and well worth a watch.
Best bit: Master Kinnear “Dad, why don’t you just sign a left back!?” 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Good chat. Dan you did a great job because I'm sure that there were some points that you may have had to have held back a little.
Fair play to Angus for doing the interview, and it has been done at the correct time. He was careful and measured as you'd expect, and he was placed in sufficient discomfort, I'd say.
I'd love someone to watch this back (not me) and count how many times he says "ya know"
Fair to say at this stage that none of the players that left due to clauses will be welcomed back. The players that did stay are deserving of our respect.

Better than "Like" !
Just gone through the comments, and I didn't spot one which wasn't positive about Kinnear, which considering the last two years, is a MASSIVE testament to his responses, and the great interviewing from the TSB gents. Good work all... MOT.
Fantastic interview Lads, some great questions and points raised to Angus, who I have to say addressed everything you asked and did a good job of putting across the position the club were in last season and this season.
We don't for the most part understand how football operates internally and frankly how turbulent it can be so having some insight to that is always great.
Respect to both you guys at the Square ball and Angus for coming out and doing it MOT 👏
The words "Jesse Marsch" And "Sucess" should never appear in the same sentence.
First competitive job sacked from the company he lived for, definition of failure
Absolutely fascinating the whole thing. Well done TSB for continually getting him in (fair play for him showing up!) and solid questioning, very thorough, fair, professional approach to representing the fan base…🙌
Really interesting interview and fair play to him he didn’t hide his feelings for about the conduct of Adams and Sini
Great video, very interesting and enlightening to hear from the 'inside'. Kudos to Angus for doing these interviews and answering difficult questions with apparent honesty and love for the club.
Fair play to Angus for having the bollocks to put himself in the firing line here.
About time?
@@Ohmydayyshe has done it for a few years now and has come across as genuine and has answered everything we’d asked. Noones done perfect but he’s been the most chivalrous in his approach out of the gang. My opinion

😂
Yes but he’ll refuse to do so in keeping with the tradition
Excellent watch and fair play to Angus facing some awkward questions. Thought he answered everything with a straight bat. Takes some balls to face the music so respect to Angus. And great questions from the lads👏👏👏 Keep up the brilliant work guys! MOT 💙💛🤍
'with all due respect to Bournemouth, it's depressing to lose players to Bournemouth' 🤣
One omission lads: you did not ask Angus if Nick Hammond will be retained for a permanent job. That is a very relevant and current question of great interest.
After 10 minutes in. I started drinking every time someone said pragmatic. Wankered by 50 minutes in
Well played guys, firm without going too far and credit to him for coming on after last season.
Really appreciate this interview, bravo to all 3 of you
This was class! Thank you so much fellas AND Angus for this...
Great, balanced interview IMO. Well done to all. Think we needed that.
Fair play to him for doing the interview with regards the season we had, took some blows but took them on the chin, moving forward its left me feeling positive for the next few years at least .
We got relegated... He ha suffered no consequences
always look forward to this interview every year.
Well done Lads, time fly by listening to it to be fair.
Great Interview! respect to all 3 of you. gonna be a good season! Lets go!
Class from Angus, very sincere i thought. Loved the 'twat? But not ever a Tory' . Never going to directly throw Orta under the bus , but body language said a lot. His & the clubs intentions for the season look very positive. A little patience will pay off.
Great stuff. Informative and feel better about things going forward now 💪
The Square Ball has no rivals..... It exists in and has created its own space.....
This was excellent. A very good interview from Dan and Michael, and a very honest and clear explanation from Angus. Tyler Adams has done himself no favours now it is clear what his behaviour was like after Leeds had really cared for him. I hope one day we are told what happened in the Palace game. But all in all, feel much more secure, informed and confident, so fair play to Angus here.
what from the palace game?
For anyone who hasn’t seen, Radrizzani is complaining about Angus on twitter because of this interview, clearly he’s been back on the Pinot and just can’t let it go
Great interview and I look forward to seeing all the ideas in place in the future 👌🏻
58:40 ‘you’d like to think the majority of the players at least retain their transfer fee’. In the context of if the club is relegated surely you have to account for the fact that in those circumstances the majority of players are unlikely to retain their transfer value because if they had performed at that level we wouldn’t have been relegated in the first place. In what possible scenario do we get relegated but the majority of the players have played well enough to still be valued at what we paid for them?
Respect, great piece of work
I commend Angus’s honesty
When the Leeds board sacked Bielsa all the questions were all wrong. Results had been awful and fans were asking why is Bielsa doing this and that? Bielsa hadn't changed, but the board hadn't listened to him and acted on his advice. It is quite obvious now that the problem was the board, the owners and directors and not Bielsa. The board acted shamelessly in sacking him when they were entirely at fault. Hang your head Angus, you were there on the board. Et tu, Brute?
Problem is the big guy is too classy to slag from them off and they won't own up.
Was it not just an issue of money? Bielsa made it clear he had a 2 year plan (which he delivered perfectly) but the club would then need to provide the huge cash injection to overhaul the team with 50 mill plus players to stay in the premier league. Radrizani never had the wealth necessary to make this happen. It was never an option and therefore the outcome (failure to maintain premier league status) was inevitable. Had it been the 49ers who owned the club at that time things could have been different.
You say the board didn't listen to him and act on his advice.... his advice was to buy a new team. I've never heard such autistic advice as that in my life.
You cannot buy a new team at any time, much less in your second year as a premier league team.
If the 49ers had taken full control in the summer of 2021 then maybe they could have spent and bought enough good players to keep us going under biesla.
But for him to suggest buying a new team to his owner when he knows his owner hasn't got much money and we've not long come out of the championship. Is plain special needs 🤷♂️🤷♂️
This was the best Square Ball podcast ever. Great questions from Dan and Michael and what Angus gave in return was both educational and illuminating.
Well done for getting him on guys and asking the difficult questions, and kudos to him for doing it. Some interesting points in there we didn't know which shed some light on why seemingly crazy decisions were made. Ive always felt Angus has the best interests of the club at heart and hope this is the start of a new trajectory for the club. Daniel Farke hit the nail on the head when he said we need to get back to what we lost when Bielsa left. The club, board, Management and fans all as one. MOT
What a great interview! Very honest. I feel the club is finally in a steady footing. Great manager and some great players in. We will be a lot bette off in the long term. Only blot is the left back situation which beggars belief.
Incredible interview asking lots of deep routed questions too which we've all been begging to get answers on. Very impressed with the questions and Angus' responses!
One criticism was wouldn't of minded hearing a question about why we actually didn't sign a left back or if we wanted Hamer and that didnt work why didn't we go for another CAM? Potentially the missing piece this year if it doesn't work out.
Brilliant interview guys. Great questions. Fair play to Angus.
Astonishingly good interview. Kinnear was surprisingly frank and revealing, without actually throwing too many culprits under the bus, other than Sinisterra, though clearly he thought that Orta was given too much freedom and really screwed up with some of the transfers. It is interesting though, that apparently Marcelo Bielsa wanted Aaronson, who turned out to be one of the most disastrous transfers, though perhaps not as disastrous for the club as Marsch, Kristensen and Firpo. Also interesting that he was surprised that so many of the players whose transfer value declined over the season wanted out after relegation rather than stay and fight for promotion. Also interesting that he thinks that Sinisterra is still potentially worth more in the transfer market than what Leeds paid for him. My overall impression though was that the club is in competent hands and that a return to the premiership within 3 years is very possible.
Great interview and fair play to Angus in fronting up. Definitely see him in a different light now.
Brilliant interview guys thank you
Wow, super interview. Thank you guys, and big thank you yo Angus
Great interview square ball and as everyone is saying fair play to him for coming on the show !
I agree with him. One toxic fan against a player, creates two toxic fans, against two players. The toxic fans grow, they target players and it damages the squad. The toxic fans are a disgrace, its became a social media problem that other clubs fuel also.
Really good interview topics covered were exactly what was needed to known by us Leeds fans feeling go for the rest off the season after that MOT
Fantastic interview, fair play to Angus & TSB boys, direct hard hitting questions and no dodging the bullets by Angus.
To be honest I fell out of love with football and Leeds United over the past two seasons, after following Leeds for 53 years. Maybe ive started healing my broken heart.
Like he says consistency in the boardroom and on the pitch is what gets results. Love the fact he’s not a Tory and his little lad gives him shit for not buying a left back , we March on together 💙💛💙💛
Brilliant interview, very clear why certain decisions were made, whether right or wrong he gave us good insight into why. Feels good to get some answers.
Listened on audio, can't praise the interview well done to all 3 of you! Got these annual interviews down to a tee now.
Is the word “enough” missing after interview?
Good interview, an unexpected Thursday night treat, thanks.

Excellent interview. Great questions and didn't leave a stone unturned without being overly aggresive.
Fabulous interview. Very honest and admitted where mistakes were made.
Fabulous that he realises his mistakes almost three years too late, another serial loser it seems
Wanted him gone, but gotta respect coming out and facing the questions.
Great stuff guys... questions were direct and honest and respect to Angus for his honesty answering.. especially around transfers.. its not the club its the player.. and fair play get rid.. I thought that we needed to get through the transfer window.. to let Daniel and the squad crack on with the season.... MOT
Great interview and credit to Angus. He knew what was coming and didn't have to be shot at but conducted himself very well. No tiptoeing around the frustrations of the fans. Just brilliant interviewing by the cast of TSB. I think Angus needed a glass of water as definitely a lot of dry mouth noises coming from him. Don't mind someone fronting up in the face of adversity. Great insight into what has gone on. Thank you chaps for the compelling podcast 👍
Great interview and respect to Angus for doing this. Well done.
Fair play Angus, very good insight 👏.
Thanks team, difficult interview to conduct and you did so very well. Respect to Angus for fronting up
Agree with most of the comments. PLUS - we know having a 7 year old son who’s grown up around Leeds and is a fan = a long term commitment to LUFC (that young man is likely to be a Leeds fan forever AND his Dad knows it)
Great by Angus. Well done all and good to hear. Have some confidence around the club
Great interview. Well done guys.

Really enjoyed the interview, great job guys, and I actually like Angus Kinnear tbf, hopefully now we can concentrate on the season ahead.
Very good interview. Questions were pitched just right.

Fantastic interview and I'm proud of Angus. Tough job but faces it head on. I think he's spot on in terms of supporting professional footballers that want to be at the club, irrespective of form. Support features on both sides.
Great interview, very honest answers and should give the fans confidence going forward. This club is incredible.M.O.T.
