Codenames are almost never relevant to the actual product. Reminder that the GameCube’s codename was dolphin, and the codename for the Wii U was cafe.
Switch was just, NX
Dolphin was what the Gamecube was running on.
Banquet could refer to an all stars type of game, like a Donkey Kong Country all stars or a Smash all stars, but i would hope its something new. Maybe its a new Rampage game, or some new Cooking Mama series?
We all know its just Burgertime 99. 🤷♂️
Atlus is working on a new Persona 5 spinoff that's a mario party clone.
So maybe they are helping with the development for a new mario party style game
My guess for this codename is that it could be for a brand new Mario Party or possibly a new Kirby, both of which would either be a late Switch 1 title or an early Switch 2 title
Kirby is no longer a D-list series for Nintendo, it gets big AAA releases now.
"Banquet" I instantly though Smash, because I have this image of the player being served a banquet of characters from every game. It'd be time to work on a Switch 2 exclusive, and since Joker from Persona 5 is in Smash now, that may be how Midori heard of it, idk.
But yeah, looking at the different Smash codenames, they seem to go with "cross" something, so probably not. or maybe they changed the name purposefully, so if it leaks we don't know it's smash instantly 'cause there's "cross" in it...

They'd better announce Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the Switch in May or June this year. I'm not giving that up without a fight.
