so, the metrics of "how much a game costs" is stupid and companies should be focusing on "Make a good product and people will buy"? who would have known?

I just wish they would release things to their Nes-N64 libraries more often. They have such a huge collection they will never run out but are afraid to release things on a consistent basis.
If BOTW upgrade is FREE that will make A LOT of people buy the new console just because. Good selling tactic.

I'm extremely excited for NINTENDOS future. Playing on my Switch lite RN before work. Sea of Stars. My PS5 and XSX collecting dust.
It was mostly ps5. Xbox never won anything. And Nintendo and not Nintendo is beating both with switch amd will outsell the ps2 soon

@@inamorta47-playertwist most games on every other system get free upgrades, even dragonball xenoverse 2 is getting a free current gen upgrade, Nintendo are just greedy.
To Nate’s point, current gen (and future gen) consoles are a double edged sword. Because they keep getting more and more powerful we’re going to see longer development times between big releases to allow developers to make use of the systems hardware capabilities.

Ehhhhh... I think I want a brand-new Zelda or a port of the 3DS Zeldas, honestly.
I would rather breath of the wild be 1080p then useless 4K which is not necessary. People need to stop with this 4K nonsense with Nintendo Nintendo will not do 4K 1080p 60 FPS is what I would like and there’s enough for me.
At one point our entire conversation was, “Has TotK made BotW obsolete?” so it’d be hilarious if they launched the new console w/ an upscaled BotW.
In my opinion it has so an upscaled BOTW does nothing for me, TOTK is just superior in every way and going back just would feel weird. I’d rather play an upscaled TOTK tbh
And even if something they put out that month doesn't directly appeal to you, there's probably something 3rd party that would anyway or maybe you have backlog of something you picked up months before that you never got to. There's been a steady flow of _something_ to play for every taste consistently.
It would be cool if an enhanced version breath of the wild came to the next Nintendo platform a couple months after launch.
I would be fine with this if the upgrade was free if you already owned breath of the wild. Paying full price for the same game is just something I never enjoy

As far as remasters go. I think if you already own physical copies you should be able to make like a 10$ upgrade purchase.
If not I won't buy any remasters no big deals. For those people who like the upgrade go for it.
Honestly I prefer Witcher 3 and the outer worlds on switch. I personally don't care if it's 4k and 60 fps.

It seems to me that there's like a thousand or more games released each year on each console I'll be it most are indie games or shovelware games. Still who has the time to play even .01% of them? Fewer games made with greater Love is what we need not more games.

Also, I think Nintendo will launch a few less, but I think it'll be at least 4-5 games a year. I don't know, but maybe they can keep up the pace. 7-8 a year. Who knows.

I think nintendo making less games is just normal. The decrease is because the handheld stuff, which was always cheaper and quicker, is now made for an hd home console. They’re making way more console games cause they’re all on one platform, and the overall decrease isn’t crazy. To me this isn’t good or bad, just exactly what you’d expect.
I’ve always played Nintendo when I had the chance. But Switch was technically my first Nintendo home console since the SNES.
I think most people will agree to say we need a Twilight Princess enhanced version even more than a BOTW coming back...
A remake of all the old Nintendo Zelda games would be awesome. I'm not a fan of games as a service.
There is nothing wrong with breath of the wild coming back why can’t both breath of the world and Twilight princess come back but I’m sorry but I’d rather pick a game that I’m familiar with and that’s breath of the wild and because Nintendo knows breath of the wild would sell more than Twilight princess tell me you all think you know better than Nintendo well you don’t.

Depending on what they do with Breath of the Wild, I am leaning towards not needing to buy it just for a graphics upgrade. I also realize that the game does not need more content. I would rather buy a big number of other launch games that I wanted on the first Switch console, especially JRPGs like Star Ocean 6, etc.
Hey Nate, I'm asking for advice i ended up getting a few extra hours on my last pay period so my check this week will be more and i was wanting to pre-order TTYD Remaster so my question is since i have a little extra money should i buy 2 tickets and save one in case something good is coming after the direct or just buy the one game and save my money for now?
The voucher program? Tough call. Trying to predict a future game you want is tough when it's not announced. Easier call to make after the Nintendo Direct, if you can just wait a few weeks to play TTYD
Yeah. I miss Top down Zelda games. Makes the formula change in BotW and TotK feel even more harsh.
I love 2D Metroid WAY more than Metroid Prime. Link Between Worlds made me realize I like 2D Zelda A LOT more than I thought. I love how streamlined the gameplay loop is. I would love to see a new 2D Zelda early into the Next Console Generation.

I believe we just might get Windwaker HD this upcoming direct i don't think they'll do a double pack and we probably won't see Twilight Princess HD until Switch 2 but you never know

I know it’s a lot less likely for that to happen but it’s so late into the switches life and it just wouldn’t make sense to me to do another Wii U port on the next Nintendo switch. In a yr where everyone and their momma knew it was a down yr for Nintendo. They still managed to drop a game so often. It blows out the other 2 big time. And they are quality. Alot are hatin on endless ocean....but...I disagree . It's niche for sure...but it's a amazing time imo.
I love the Switch but man do I wish they made a 3ds successor. I've had every Nintendo handheld since the GBC and the switch is really the only Nintendo home console I've owned.
The only game I wasn't satisfied with was TOTK personally, so pretty good overall

I literally just played the utmost shit out tears of the kingdom. Same engine as botw but better and i also played the shit out of botw. Im not interested in putting any more hours into botw after putting 100s of hours into it on switch one. Games not old enough for a fuckin remaster
I'm happy for the people that are excited for the remaster/port of BotW and for the people who haven't played the game yet. Personally, I don't really care for it, and this isn't because I don't like the game, I love it. Its just that I'm perfectly content with the current version of BotW, I don't need an enhanced version just yet. Unless they are adding something significant to it like a new dlc or something, which is probably not going to happen.

Because the top down Zelda team doesn’t exist anymore. There use to be two Zelda teams. But due to the complexities of the console style ones, they combined the teams together.

Edit: big games are good but it's a very hit or miss. I'm honestly going to be watching a letsplays before I invest in the next new Zelda. I feel Nintendo is relying too hard on indie titles.

Did not like or enjoy breath of the wild or tears of the kingdom myself,so I don’t care ether way if the game gets a remaster or a port to the next system.
I personally felt both games to be boring bland uninspired and lacking creativity. I’m happy for the people who loved those games however, they were just not this pirates cup o tea.
( I’m sure lots of people will hate on this pirate for having these feelings about both games🤔) and that’s fine, everyone is entitled to their own personal preference feelings and opinions ❤ that’s part of why the world is so fun and enjoyable. ( different opinions believes and feelings ETC)

Too many projects stretches funding and ruins gane development outlook. Rather. Ake obe good games then many garbage games. I like the if remake since the first was also for Wii and that ruined BOTW launch and to make gaming better.

I did bring it up, though his grander point probably stands. Our last brand new traditional top down zelda (so not tri force heroes) was over a decade ago.
@@NintyPrime Fair point, but just as we have had new 2d mario wonder as well as odyssey, they clearly put money into that remake and it wasn't just a small upgrade but a meticulous reimagining, I feel like Nintendo aren't done with 2D zelda yet.
I got a feeling Grezzo is making one tbh, and it's taking awhile because they just want to make sure it's right... plus it's probably cross gen or exclusive to Switch 2.

Honestly, I think it would be a good promote bomb if enhanced version of BOTW was a free launch title. It's probably already sold for at least 90% of it's potential, and with sequel being available on the same console, most people would just buy sequel. So this desicion would fix "problem" of TotK sales intertwining with Botw, create a good launch title, and give us an yearly Zelda.

Really good thoughts. Makes sense. This generation of Nintendo has been its best. Thing is, I loved the WiiU (just thought it was mishandled). Nintendo is proving to be the wisest of the bunch.
Breath of the Wild doesn't need a remaster/remake but ya'll will give 60.00 or even 70.00 for it, showing Nintendo they can give you a back handed, hand shake while you give them a shit eating grin.

As a big fan of Nintendo at the base, this brand made my childhood and teen years full of great memories... but i have to admit, i'm feeling let down with the Switch, BOTW was a unic experience, sure, but after 1000h of it, i can't play it anymore, and i didn't even finish TOTK, i lost interest at about 80h of gameplay... it's the first time ever for me, i'm a bigger fan of Zelda than Nintendo, and still, i didn't finish the last one, and feel the same rejection as BOTW, it's like if the magic formula doesn't work anymore... It's like 8 months i didn't touch my Switch, and i'm barely waiting for the Switch 2, now my big games are on Steam... i'm a child of the 80's by the way.

People are forgetting switch 2 could be backward compatible. The botw stuff could simply be enhancement and nothing more
Imo an update would be better than rebuying botw. Sure it'll look like all those 4k zelda vids that have been around since botw released, but what else is their to offer? They could take qol features and mobs from totk and stick them in botw, but that would not only hurt totk but make the inevitable remaster of it feel even more similar to botw which would hurt its sales. If the system wasn't backwards compatible i could understand but this is almost as worthless a remaster as Tlou 2.
A duology with both on one cartridge and more dlc would be the best choice imo.
I know you are just trying to hype up the Nintendo’s next console, but saying there will be a Botw remake will cause gullible people to believe that and drive them away from Nintendo.
I have been holding off on doing a second run of BOTW with hopes the Switch2 rumor of 4K and no load times are true. I will gladly pay for a new physical copy, or a small fee to upgrade.

Some games like Mario Kart doesn't need to have 2 games being on a console and handheld at the same time, especially with the Switch. But I do feel like they should also release more 2D games as well. We still get 2D Metroid, 2D Kirby, and 2D Mario. Why not 2D Zelda? The Link's Awakening remake sold over 6 million copies, and it sold better than Pikmin 4, Fire Emblem: 3 Houses, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, just to name a few games. It's still a decent seller, and can sell better than other games in Nintendo's portfolio.
The biggest thing I wish the switch generation got would be a switch pro. Maybe it would just be unlocked hardware so people didn’t have to jail break their switches to get more performance! But I would not want to see stuff like the new 3ds where titles came only to that part of the 3ds family all games would still have to be released for base model if you had the pro you would just get better performance! Think how many games on switch use dynamic performance basically every big Nintendo game uses it so you would get a better experience on all the big hitters at least

Most popular Zelda game ever? It sold 2m at launch and that turned a profit. This likely has next to no budget and may even sell 10m lifetime.
So yeah, if you can produce something for less then 1m and make a ton of money, that’s just smart business.

Sales wise better yes. But there are still a lot of games I liked on wiiu and GC u haven't seen show up yet. My personal enjoyment still isn't there in the recent years of switch. Most games haven't appealed to me.
I welcome breath of the wild getting a remaster on the next GEN switch because it’s a game that Nintendo knows will sell people will buy it again because it’s a very good game. I’m with enhance port on the new console. The potential of it could finally be realised because I’m sure Nintendo had a lot of ideas they probably wanted to implement into breath of the wild but because of technical limitations of not just the current switch but of the Wii U.

I feel bad for this generation of kids. They are stuck playing the same thing over and over again while we had timeless titles coming out the wazoo.
What do you mean? There's more games getting released this era than before.
Most Xbox and PS games are so boring but cost a fortune to make. Instead of spending the money on graphics and 'realism' they need to spend more on actual entertainment. For me that is where Nintendo is winning. I can't wait for Paper Mario in a couple of weeks and Metroid 4 (whenever we see it !) but I am hard pressed to think of any game on the other platforms that I am waiting for and that has been the case for some years now.

Nintendo did not put out 10 games on 3ds in 2019
It's Nintendo's own data. It's published games. You have to look at who the publisher was on the games to know if it counts. I do not presently have a list of all the games that came out that year on 3DS to check the publisher. I doubt Nintendo is lying.

I think a big difference between Nintendo possibly remastering a bunch of switch games for the switch2 vs all the wiiu games they remastered for the switch is that those games barely got a change to sell because they were stuck on an underperforming console. whereas the majority of switch games sold extremely well, we all played botw, and we dont want to pay another 60/70 bucks for a new version of a game that doesn't really need it. especially if that same experience could be offered to existing game copies with a potential "switch2 patch".
